Paige's Point of View ~
Me and Leo were 5 inches away from each other soaking wet. I shivered and he kept on looked at me. had better things to think about and his deep green eyes were distracting me.
I had a boyfriend once. Yeah surprising I know. He wasn't as unpopular as me but he wasn't as popular as Carson or Leo. We dated for about 5 months until Bella found out he cheated with a 24 year old. This was one year ago, so yeah, Illegal.
I made myself stop thinking about him and yelled.
"Carson?! Sarah?!" I called out, but no response. I turned around towards the dock.
"Why does everybody just leave? It's too cold! I can't, I just can-" I was cut off by a soft voice.
"Paige, you need to calm down." He said calmly and I turned around and looked at him with a serious expression on my face. It was too cold. My body felt like ice and my nose was about to fall off.
"Calm down?! You calm down! I don't have my car! Sarah left me! Carson threw me in the freezing water that probably-" I was cut off by my own sneeze. I knew it. I hate when I'm sick. I coughed loudly and my eyes widened.
His eyes flicked to my lips then back to my eyes.
"Your lips are purple." He said shortly and I put my fingers up to my lips.
I felt my forehead start to heat up and I let out a stifled sniff. I groaned and suddenly a hand was pressing against my forehead to check how hot it was. I could tell it was bad because Leo's eyes widened and he spoke.
"We need to get you out of the water." He said plainly and started swimming away from me.
"Wait! I can't swim all the way back!" I yelled for him to come back. He paused and turned around. He looked at me like I was joking.
"I'm not kidding, I can't feel my legs." I was serious. I couldn't feel my legs or face.
He swam back and moved his back facing me, I jumped onto his back and wrapped my arms tightly around his neck. When he got to the sand he set me on the floor and left. What the hell? He was just going to leave me here? I didn't move because I was too cold. I wrapped my arms around my legs and pressed my chest against them as an attempt to get warmer.
I felt a pair of arms pick me up and my eyelids started to get heavier and heavier. The same hands slowly and carefully pulled the heels Sarah made me wear as I slowly gave in and fell into a deep sleep.

I let out a small gasp and sat up. I was in a bed. I turned and the bright sun blinded me, so I covered my face with my hands. It was morning. I looked around to check where I was.
I was in my room.
How did I get here? Did Sarah get home safely? A sharp pain hit my forehead making me groan. I remember last night. Carson threw me in the water. It was cold. Leo was there. My forehead was burning up. I fell asleep.
I heard footsteps coming my way and I leaned my head into my pillow.
Somebody opened the door, walked in, and put Advil and water on my side table. I looked up as my mom sat on my bed.
"Paige, what happened? A boy came home with you in his arms and you were burning up. Honey you're sick, what happened?" She repeated. It's not like it's my fault. I didn't do anything bad like drugs or drinking.
"I fell in the water and it was freezing. I think that's why I got the cold." I half lied. It was cold and that's why I got sick, but I didn't fall in.
Wait. He brought me home? Mom interrupted my thoughts.
"No, I mean the boy-" He phone rang. She picked it up and started to talk through the phone. I couldn't quite understand what she was saying because I was too focused on my headache. Mom hung up and put her phone back in her pocket.
"I gotta go sweetheart. There is soup in the fridge. Try to take some naps, Love you." She was gone after saying her goodbyes and I sat there thinking. I hadn't seen her in 3 weeks and she just left. It's like I'm the only one in my family that doesn't have a life.
I looked down at what I was wearing that made me so warm. It was a sweatshirt I've never seen before. I looked in the mirror across from my bed. It was a large navy blue hoodie with the words Walker #8 stitched on to the center of it. Wasn't that Leo's last name? Was this his hoodie?
A small ding came from my side table near the cup of water my mom set down for me.
I picked up my phone and read. It was my grandma. I taught her how to text me if she needed anything or if there was an emergency. I quickly started to answer her.
Sweety, how are you?
I'm okay grandma, What's up?
Honey, do you remember the camp I run during the summer?
Yes.
Well, we're a little short on counselors, do you think you could help us out and be a counselor here? Just think about, sweety pie.
Alright grandma I'll think about it.
Bye, bye, dear.
Bye grandma :)
A lot of things that wouldn't normally happen to me, have happened to me. Maybe going away to a camp for a week would get my mind off things. Nobody was home so nobody really needed me here, but I don't know If I want to watch over a bunch of little kids. I mean I love little kids, but 3 weeks of watching over 10 of them?
