One at a time

"So let's go over the plan one more time...."

Talking to each other for another minute it was decided that both Zero and Kenny would both handle 1 wolves. Zero had confidence in his ability to dodge and attack against 2 wolves but with 3 he would have to be extremely focused. In order to make it easier for Kenny though, it was decided that they would separate 1 Wolf from the group at a time.

Agreeing that Luna would stand a few meters behind the duo, they decided to start their plan. First they had Luna send a basic light beam attack towards a wolf laying closest to the tree line. Naturally, healers wouldn't start a game with only healing skills. They would have a basic attack to deal damage at early stages of any game and acquire skills later on which becomes their main way of contributing to battle. As to why Luna hadn't used her attacks before, well she has 2 party members who can handle battle easily, all she had to do was heal them whey they took damage.

Going back to the wolves, the group had walked closer to where the wolves went out of the forest. As they walked past the trees and into the open Luna launched a simple attack at the closest wolf. Under normal circumstances she would have trouble hitting her target but as there was a slight aim assist present until level 10 she was able to successfully graze the target.

As the wolf stood and looked over to the boys it immediately ran over intending to attack whoever had disturbed its rest.

Not that Zero would let it get past him. As the wolf tried to run past the boys, he used the cleave skill to attack the wolf's back, knocking it down to the ground for a second before Kenny, from the other side, threw out a fist hitting it in the side after it had quickly gotten up, pushing it a few steps between both boys.

Taking a look at its stats, Zero smiled seeing the damage done already to it.

As the wolf finally got to its feet it jumped away from attackers before growling angrily at both. It was clearly mad for being used as a punching bag for a split second. As it looked toward Kenny, the one who had hit it last, it started to infuse mana from the surroundings into its claws. With them gaining a slightly blue hue around them it was obvious it had activated its skill.

As it rushed towards its intended target, Kenny, it was much faster than the fighter had expected. Only fighting with slower boars up until now he wasn't expecting such a large speech increase from the wolf. During the moment he took to react, the wolf had already reached him. With a quick swipe of the paw it's claws slashed against Kenny's armor.

Beginner armor is pretty weak so with an attack like that Kenny was already at critical health (20% remaining) even thought he was at maximum health before the hit. Kenny was knocked a few steps back, due to the momentum of the wolf.

Zero and Luna didn't just stand still either, with the latter casting a heal to bring Kenny up to 40% of his normal hp value, Zero had reached the wolf as it prepared to attack again. As he stopped himself in front of the wolf, he slashed his sword towards the wolf's neck.

Unsurprisingly the wolf jumped back and dodged the attack. Not caring that his first attack missed Zero stepped forward launching more hacks and slashed towards the wolf. Though most were missed due to the wolf's high agility a few also connected because of Zero acticipating where the wolf was dodge to. This only amounted to 60 damage though so there was still a long way to go.

Finally after half a minute of being healed Kenny jumped into the fight. He was fairly mad at his mistake earlier so while silently coordinating with the swordsman beside him they ended up defeating the first wolf without drawing the other 3 into the battle.

As the one who had done the most damage to the wolf, though not by a lot due to the slightly enraged Kenny, Zero was asked to loot the body as the wolf's body had started glowing white. As he touched the body of the wolf a dull green light flashed before his eyes, after a second the light faded as a display appeared.

Seeing that the wolf had actually dropped armor he was surprised. As he shared the report they were also surprised. They had fought boars for a while with only the boar hide as the only drop.

Thinking about the situation for a second, Luna gave her own opinion on it.

"Do you think it's because it is level 5?"

"That's probably right, maybe now monsters will start dropping equipment so we can actually do better." Zero replied while looking at the stats of the armor.

"Should I upgrade my strength stat next? My agility is fine for now but I need to start doing more damage soon or I will be a weak frontline attacker.

Scratching his head, Zero decided to put more stat points into strength when he leveled up.

"Alright, I think we should farm wolves from now on, boars don't give nearly as much experience so we should ignore them."

With approval from the party, the group was quick with distributing coins. Kenny and Luna with 3 and Zero getting 4. As they prepared to start the next battle, Luna healed Kenny to full health. Her standard skill [Heal] healed a single target 20% of their health points with the cooldown being 30 seconds.

After a few minutes everyone was prepared for next battle. Using the same strategy the group defeated the other 3 wolves one at a time. Gaining another 300 experience, Zero was just over halfway to level 5. From the three wolves a weapon actually dropped for the fighter class, though it was still restricted until they reached level 5.

"Let's see... where did that last wolf come here from?"
