Ch 9 Part 4

Looking sad and defeated, Tarai simply put her head down knowing that he was right. She was still punishing herself for being dumb enough to listen to her cousin's plan. She had no idea what the hell made her think any idea of hers was going to be good. Just look where she ended up, inside a half-rotted tree trunk using it as a makeshift shelter, while trying to make the goddess happy enough to forgive her. This situation sucked and she knew it. Though she did get one thing out of it, a decent friend in Bowen. Thanks to the rabbits that he had brought, she placed some cooked rabbit on the alter with the rest of her offerings. The odd feeling once again came to her as another piece of her wolf was returned to her. She bid goodnight to Bowen and headed to bed. Bowen sighed heavily as he really did not feel like being alone, but this was the place that the goddess has set for her. He left for his little house made of fallen logs as he laid himself down.
