MY MINI-REVOLT AT WORK

Guess what? I closed my own accounts deals! It's not even April, but I close not just one but three deals. I couldn't believe it!

I mean, I really couldn't believe it. I tried really hard but I didn't actually think it would work.

I mean, Philip's Securities only took private and rather large investment accounts. And usually if someone had that much money to line their pockets, they either already had a solid investment portfolio or would put their major capital into larger companies like Reid Inc, or any of the trade giants in Gate City.

But I decided that there was nothing to be gained by sitting on my hands, so I asked Christa. She was a Luna of one of the richest Alphas in the continent. Would she like to invest a bit of spare change?

Then I figured that since I was asking, I might as well ask every rich person I knew - which wasn't a lot of people. Just not Harvey because I didn't want to owe him anything more.

Christa actually said yes. She would like me to set up a portfolio for her. I wrote up a proposal and sent it to her. She said her mate approved it. He also increased the initial capital to improve the payouts more substantially. "Why waste so much time for so little payout?"

Okay. Sure Mr Moneybags. No loss to me.

That was enough. Their one account was now the entire company's third largest one. I knew, since I closed the accounts for our entire floor at the end of each month. Eat that Mr Philips!

And then over the weekend, Sam responded a "Yeah, sure." One of her betas would follow up. I had actually given up from hearing from her. She was the Alpha of the Moon Bell Pack, AKA only the entire Green Packlands. We went to college together, and she was one of Christa's bridesmaids, but we were never close. Her reply really made my day.

Immediately after I received her text, Harvey texted. He'll come over next week to check out the portfolio and collect the paperwork for Alpha Sam's signature. Meanwhile, we can start the proposal over email. Do note that this capital we were dealing with would be taken directly from Alpha Sam's personal savings.

Oh wow.

I really did it this time. And I've got a big pile of work to do now.

For all my unluckiness in love, I must be really lucky when it came to my work.

Mackenzie said she couldn't at this point. She just started her own beauty salon and it cost a bomb. But she'll pass my number to her rich clients and I'm very welcome to come get my hair or nails done at friend's discount anytime. Hahaha. Cool.

And then Charbear replied a yes too. She had inherited some money from her grandmother recently and she liked my proposal. It was simple and straightforward for her to understand, and her mate had seen it and said it looked pretty solid.

Yes! Yes! Yes! That's 3 out of 4! Lucky!

I treated Fred, Marco, and Mona to pizza that night. Marco took out champagne and vodka because he said he was that happy for me.

"I'm sad for myself though," he added, making a face, "We'll be losing the best assitant manager in the company."

"I'm doomed." Fred said into his hands and then got himself drunk. Fred was not very good had holding his alcohol.

Hahaha... They didn't have to worry though. It appeared we celebrated too soon.

Mr Philips looked at the account deals I've closed and decided they were far too important clients for a newbie like me to handle. He told me to write to them and inform them that the managers would be Marco and Fred. As their assistant manager I should continue to support them by helping draw out all the documents though. WTH.

What about my promotion?

It's too soon to talk about that. In the meantime, Mr Philips hoped I would mentor the new girl coming in next week. Fresh graduate. Maybe after I had trained her to take over my role, we could talk about the promotion.

WTH.

I stormed out of the office. Fred took one look at my face and decided to go give Mr Philips a piece of his mind. Marco grabbed him by the arm, "Don't, there's no point, Fred. Nothing you can say would change his mind."

Stupid Lycan men. Grrr... I hate them.

They crush my heart in love, they crush my hope at work.

There was nothing good about any of them.

Stupid Lycan men x100. (As in I wrote this a hundred time, but I decided to save you the scrolling work.)

"Arugghhh... I've had it! I know you can hear me Mr Philips. I'm taking leave for the next week!" I yelled from my desk.

Mr Philip's door opened, "But it's month end..."

"I don't care!" I snapped. I dumped the files I had prepared over the weekends for the three new accounts on Marco's desk, and grabbed my bag to go.

The rest of the office was opened concept so it wasn't a secret that I've just blown a fuse.

And then Mona said, "If she gets a week off, me too!"

"I'm taking this week off too!" Fred declared.

"Guys! Don't get emotional here... We still need to service our clients." Marco picked up the three files, "What the hell. Sorry boss. We will work from home this week."

I guess Mr Philips knew he wasn't going to win.

"Fine. As long as you keep up with your accounts, I guess you can work this week from home." Mr Philips agreed.

"That's not fair..." Someone else whined, "Why do they get to work from home?"

"Bring back new accounts that match the three they got and I'll give your team work from home leave for a week too." Mr Philips said.

And then he reminded us again, "Make sure you are back next Monday, there is a new assistant manager for your team."

Wait, why was it that I had to work my way up from assitant business analyst while this new fresh grad girl came in immediately as assitant manager?

F*** it.

But that was how the four of us managed to get a week back home... As in home, back in our human home town in the Red Packlands, without any Lycan around for miles.
