As we entered the forest the trees became denser and it was difficult to walk quietly on the broken branches. They had left the horses close to town, as the presence of the horses would make their arrival public for the bandits they wanted to ambush. Nobody was talking, it was seriously in everybody's face. The men scattered everywhere disappeared inside and outside the trees. Scarlet knew he wouldn't be able to sense their presence had it not been for watchful eyes and sharp ears.
She walked close to Adrian but far enough to not hear what they were talking to Caren. She didn't care what they said, so she focused her ears on the forest and the sounds. She ignored the owl's short intervals chirping and the sounds of small animals jumping around. They walked a little more and went out into an open field. The distant redness and the penetrating smoke caused brief fear in her senses. She thought they might be late.
"Damn it" Adrian yelled furiously and ran to the village. Scarlet rushed after him, not to lose sight of him.
"Surround the village and don't let any of them escape!" Caren's harsh and commanding voice was loud and moving.
As they reached the burning area, the density of smoke burned his throat. Burning houses were crumbling and turning to ash without any debris left behind. Screams and crying sounds swept all over. Adrian busy killing a barbarian with a sword in his hand. She began to look around and looked at the girl standing on the floor next to them, blood from open wounds. Her eyes hugged herself in fear as if to protect her open hands. She hurried over and stopped in front of the girl. She leaned on the ground, ignoring the girl hitting and yelling at her, and quickly took her away from the village in a safe area. The girl immediately withdrew herself and started crying. Her wet cowardly eyes watched Scarlet's every move, her hands wrapped around her body. Scarlet felt her anger at the barbarians spreading all over her body. She collapsed next to the girl and put her hand on her head.
"Don't be afraid, I won't do anything to you. I brought you here to protect you from them, and don't worry, they can't come here. All of my friends are trying to keep them from running. " She got up and handed the water bag she was carrying with her.
"I will come soon. Take this, drink this "girl indecision took the water bag in her hand and started drinking. Although Scarlet didn't want to leave her alone there, she knew that her time was running out and that she had to leave as soon as possible. She looked at the girl for the last time and rushed toward the field.
She took off her whip and snapped it in the air. She put the whip around the neck of the man who was trying to kill the mother and the child and pulled it with full speed. The man stumbled backward and his sword fell to the ground. His hands went to his neck and grabbed the skin that had strangled him, trying to escape. Scarlet pulled furiously again, and the man fell on his back, bruising. Scarlet stood on his hill. The bandit's dirty face was dying. His huge body was trembling, and he was still struggling on the ground with his last force to escape. Scarlet smiled ruthlessly, though unclear under the hood, and the man's sword from the ground plunged into the barbarian's heart.
"Die." was like an angel of death, with her deadly angry voice and red eyes shining with the desire for blood. The man took his last breath and his fearful eyes remained wide open.
Leaving the sword there, Scarlet turned and walked over to the mother and the boy. The mother, overwhelmed with fear, pressed her child to her bosom, and shielded herself. Scarlet bent down.
"I will not hurt you. Come with me, I'll take you to a safe place. "The woman stared at the stretched hand, her indecisive and fearful eyes, and hesitantly held out her own hand.
She was covered with blood. Her eyes were full of blood once, and once the three-headed red snake she had put to sleep in was awakened once. She chopped each man with her own swords and then left them buried in their hearts. She looked around greedily, flames were all over her, and even the dry earth was burning with a crunch. She had lost sight of Adrian and prayed to God that nothing would happen to him.
She saw the man who came running to her and shouting angrily. She wrapped her whip around his sword and drew it. As the sword fell rapidly to the ground, she dropped an iron fist in the face of the overcoming man. The man stumbled back and recovered as he was about to fall, but Scarlet was faster. She swung the sword she had picked up and fallen to the ground as blood flowed from the man's neck.
The red eyes scared the man more hurt than the pain in his neck. He thought the devil. Satan came out of the ground and stood directly opposite him.
As he exhaled with the sharp pain that entered his heart, he did not take his open eyes away from her for once.
As Caren and Adrian took his point of view, Scarlet was deeply relieved and rushed over to them. Adrian's baffled, sweaty and bloody face swept around scarlet's bloody armor. Adrian realized it wasn't her blood, and his dark eyes were stuck for a moment, as if in agreement with flaming eyes.
They used Caren and Adrian's swords skillfully, defeating whoever came in their way. She glanced around and watched Diego get two people down at the same time. Next to him, Taylor was moving on top of the enemies with his expressionless face as if flying, every man he passed by was falling to the ground. This is what stunned Scarlet. It was really fast indeed.
In front of her came another barbarian rushing left and right with his hands blackened and his eyes gone mad. She moved her whip and clicked on the man's face. Blood started flowing from the slit. The man cried out in pain, letting go of the sword and grabbing his face. Scarlet did not stop and wrapped the whip around his neck, punched forward at the stumbling man, and struck again with her elbow. He collapsed and began to die with his bloody face. He couldn't breathe, causing his wounds to contract with pain.
Scarlet saw in his eyes that the dirty man was dying, and the sense of pleasure that arose within her grew and increased. She put her foot on the man and stretched the whip tight. She with the clenched whip, to man, kicked for the last time and stopped moving. The empty eyes, the soul of which had been drawn, were open for the last time as if to curse the murderer. She performed the Scarlet ritual and stabbed the sword in the heart.
She turned around hearing a painful scream. A young girl was dragging her head on the ground, and blood oozed from scratches on her skin. She was trying to pull her hands outstretched to the rough hand holding her, stabbing her feet on the ground and struggling as if to stop herself. She was far from there, it might not have reached in time, but she still started running. The owner of the rough hand was trying to kidnap the woman, taking advantage of the confusion, that he would most likely kill the girl, and must have realized that he could not win.
At that moment, she watched Adam run and head in that direction. Sharp teeth appeared, whose mouth opened with the excitement of finding its prey. Adam soon caught up and stopped in front of the burly barbarian. In the anger of the capture, the barbarian left the girl and reached for his sword. Scarlet took action to get the girl. But before she could go near the girl, she saw behind Adam a sword, reflecting the crimson of the flame, flung towards him. Adam narrowly dodged him.
They were too far away to throw the Scarlet whip. She aligned her eye with the poisonous little arrow she pulled out of its hiding place, pointing towards the man. Although her smoke-filled eyes and the constant movement of the target made it difficult, she took a deep breath and focused the arrow as she had done many times before. Flying quickly thanks to the feathers on the little arrowhead, it found the target and got stuck in the bandit's neck. He collapsed in a short time and left purple veins behind where he went as if the poison had spread throughout his body. The man trembled as if in crisis and finally died with white foam coming out of his mouth.
The number of dead men left on the burnt ground was quite high. This number was increasing with the corpses resembling coal from the houses that had fired out. Adrian looked at the dead village people with great anger and sadness. He had sent Hayden to the head of the people Scarlet had gathered together. He gave instructions to move to the nearest village as soon as possible. Taylor was sent to town to call the doctor.
"Caren men, if there is any fugitive who escaped by road, be killed where it is. If anyone surrenders, take them to the dungeon for questioning. Also, find the man who brought the information and bring it to me." His voice, kneaded with anger, was harsh and loud.
"Yes, sir." He bowed before him and ordered his men who were lined up behind him. Each watched them go as they scattered through the forest. Adrian turned to Scarlet with his narrow and piercing eyes. His face was soaked with blood, his hair was messy and clinging to his forehead sweating from the heat.
"Scarlet, did you find any traces of magic?" his angry voice echoed in Scarlet's ears. Scarlet remembered feeling a little of the magic.
"Yes sir. I felt above their leader. He is among the dead now. I guess he was inspired by the magic and incited to attack. " Adrian muttered a swear and started walking into the forest in their direction.
