"Tunde when did you become this soft, that a woman now tells you what to do?" His mother questioned.

"Mom, please don't get started on this, I already told you it's I and Sophia's decision to.."

"To do what, to do what Tunde?" His mother snapped. "What is wrong with you? How can you, the first and only son of the Makinde family, decide that you want to have a wedding of only hundred guests? It's unheard of"

"And you think it's not unheard of, for you to give your son a three month ultimatum to get married?" Tunde asked in annoyance.

"Tunde you know we are doing this for your own good" his mother said, trying to patronize him.

"And I have chosen to go ahead with your good will for me, but what I won't take, is you telling me how to get married, however I choose to do it, is my choice. And you would have to respect that"

"Tunde I'm still your mother, so watch the way you talk to me" she scolded.

"And that's the reason I'm going to tell you this mom, you asked that I marry Sophia, and I'm doing that, however I choose to do it is my business. So please just accept it that way" He stood up to leave.

"Tunde come back here, and sit down" his mom said to him calmly. "I know you won't understand why we are making you get married at this age, but it is for your own good"

"And I'm getting married just like you, and dad want me to, all I am asking is that you accept my decisions as regarding this wedding"

"Fine, whatever you say. I will uninvite all the guests I had previously invited, even though that would mean I would have to do a lot of explaining as to why they are no longer invited, but that's not a problem" she spoke pitifully.

He knew she was trying to blackmail him emotionally, but he wasn't going to fall for it.

"Thank you mom"

When Tunde was done with his mom, he went to the lounge where he usually hung out with his guys. He was placing his order for a glass of Martini when Dayo walked in.

"Guy what's up now" Dayo shook hands with Tunde before taking his seat next to him.

"Omo, I dey"

"So you are really getting married next weekend?"

"Yeah man, it's something I have to do"

"No jokes?"

"No jokes guy, I'm dead serious"

"Wow, I never thought you of all people would be getting married anytime soon, especially not with the rest of us still unmarried"

"Well, like they always say, change is the only constant thing"

As they were talking, Harry walked in, and then few minutes later, Desmond came in too.

"But guy, why do you want this wedding to be a small one? We suppose make noise for this your wedding na" Harry said to Tunde.

"Guy Harry has a point, why would you of all people, want to have a small wedding? I still don't understand it myself"

"I'm having a small wedding, because that is what I want"

"You don't even sound happy about this whole wedding thing, are you sure, you really want to do this at all?"

"Guy you really don't seem happy doing this, isn't there a way you can talk to your parents about not tying your inheritance to you getting married? Isn't there a way you can get them to change their mind? Because you look like you are about committing suicide"

Dayo's statement, made Desmond and Harry to bust into laughter.

"I'm glad you guys find this funny, and are really laughing at my expense, but I want you guys to know that I'm doing this, so you had better get used to it"

*********************************************"

"Sophia I think this dress, would be just perfect for you" Ifeoma her sister pointed at a white dress, as they went through several online stores searching for a dress for Sophia to wear on her wedding day.

"No I don't like it, I want something simple"

"How about this one too?" Jumoke pointed at a red dress. "this would look perfect on you"

"If I should wear something, other than a white dress, my mother in-law would think I'm trying to spite her or something. And I don't want that"

"But honestly Sophie, you shouldn't allow that woman to put you in a box, I heard she can be very manipulative, so you have to be careful with her"

"And is that the type of advice you should be giving your sister who is about to get married?" Sophia's mother walked into the room, making them to pause, they didn't know she was already back from her outing.

"So instead of you to as advise her on how to be obedient to her husband, you are here busy inciting her against her mother inlaw to be?"

"Mummy I wasn't inciting her against anybody, I was telling her the truth"

"Really, which truth exactly?" their asked with her hands akimbo

"Okay, I can see that I have over stayed my welcome, so I will just be on my way" Ifeoma picked up her purse, and stood up to leave.

"Sophie, I will see you later"

"So that is how you are just going to walk out on your mother? Ehn.. Ifeoma, it has gotten to that abi?"

"Mummy I'm not walking out on you, I'm just protecting my peace of mind"

Ifeoma tried to leave the room, but her mother stood by the door.

"So what is that supposed to mean? I am now a trouble maker abi?"

"Mummy please allow me to pass"

"You are going nowhere, until you have told me the meaning of that statement you just made"

"Mummy, I don't want trouble, please leave the way"

"Ifeoma did you just refer to me as a trouble maker?"

"Yes I did, can I go now?"
