The Family of Three

"Aren't you leaving soon?" Ayan glared at Reiner who was sitting so peacefully drinking some tea that Zara had made.

"Why would I do that? The female that I'm going to devote myself to sitting across the room. She's already promised a contract to me, what about you? She doesn't owe you anything, so shouldn't it be you leaving soon?" Reiner said so calmly.

Reiner always seemed to get under Ayan skin, and he seemed to do it on purpose just to get Ayan to react.

"I'm going to be her first male! Just watch!" Ayan exclaimed.

"Actually if that really did in fact happen, I would rather not." Said Reiner.

"How dare you imagine something lustful towards my Zara!"

Reiner laughed at Ayan, "You really are fun to mess with."

"Reiner, stop getting Ayan all worked up, you know how he gets." Zara told him.

Zara walked towards Ayan to hand him a cup of tea that she had just brewed for them. Watching them fight and pick at each other gave Zara a warm feeling in her heart, almost like a sense of belonging.

Zara hadn't felt that since she came to this world. She always felt she stood out, whether due to her looks or her mannerisms. But standing here now with a childish wolf and a sadistic eagle, actually made her feel more at home.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Ayan asked.

"Oh! I didn't realize I was smiling, I was just thinking about something is all. Actually, I do need some herbs for tonight's dinner, would someone mind getting them for me?"

Zara had started to learn how to cook, after all she always had Ayan take care of her and hunt for her food, so the least she could do was make sure they had dinner waiting for them.

"Of course my female! I'll be right back with those herbs for you!" Ayan told Zara. "Oh and if he tries anything just yell and I'll come snap his manhood clean off his body."

"Hmph." Reiner grunted.

Ayan stood up, grabbed an empty bag off a hook on the wall and set out.

"What else should I include in today's dish-"

"Thanks for finally getting rid of that mutt." Reiner came and pulled Zara by her arm and closer to his chest. "We finally have some time for ourselves, after all I waited so long to finally give you this..."

"Reiner! I'm not ready for this! If anything we should wait a little bit longer, and besides Ayan might get upset about not being my first-"

"What are you going on about?" Reiner asked.

Reiner grabbed Zara's hand, opened it, and placed one of his feathers in her small delicate hand.

"It's one of my feathers, for us in the eagle tribe, when we find a female we want to pursue, we give her one of our feathers to let her were interested in them. What were you thinking? Oh.......why Zara, are you in fact a littler pervert?" He asked with a smirk.

"You set me up! Of course anyone would think that with the direction you were going in....wait, did you say you were interested in me?" Zara asked.

"I won't say it again." Reiner said as he stared into Zaras warm and inviting eyes.
