CHAPTER: 6

Luke Artwright, the Principal of one of the most prestigious English based highschools in America. Lordston High, his pride, his devotion and his mission. Currently he was in his office which had a very familiar English theme to it. I brown mohagony desk that had a black leather swivel chair behind it. A very exquisite set of French windows stood behind the chair, beyond it was a balcony. The office itself was rather spacious a few painting decorating the windowed walls. The furniture that sat in the middle of the room consisted of 4 leather sofas that were of equal length arranged in polygonal fashion with a marble coffee table in the centre. He sat there sipping on a cup of tea whilst facing a couple.

Before him were sat the parents of one of his students. The Carlucas' were in no mood at all for play or jokes, not like Luke was a very cheerful person to begin with but after the former incident there was no need for formalities anymore.

"She will be returning won't she?" Luke asked sternly as he set down the teacup and it's saucer. His accent was just too much to go unnoticed.

"Like we have a damn choice. This time she will be in the magic school." Steve scowled.

"Her more recent memories are resurfacing..." Lucy chipped in. "You understand what I'm trying to say don't you?"

"Of course I do but I will let you know that measures have already been implemented to avoid issues like before."

"Hooooh!? Then tell me why those measures weren't implemented beforehand? Or is the institute becoming incapable of dealing with simple fusses like that?" Lucy's voice became a lot colder.

"The institute will compensate you for it's errors."

"Compensate? We are talking about my daughter here and you think a simple compensation is enough to redeem yourselves off the harm that almost happened? Please we will leave her in the school but if harm unnecessary comes her way, I swear by the *Nymph Queen your head will fly.". [*a character for another time]

"Your daughter is not a young girl anymore. She is already over *50 and yet you still treat her as if you don't already know the worst is yet to come. I must say in the least that as long as she is in the academy she is safe... from most things." [*Nylocks age very slowly due to the nymph genes they bear]

"Most things include?"

"Wife, it's enough." Steve finally said after silent frustration. He then turned to face Luke, "What is it we are meant to know that we don't?" His eyes calmly focused on Luke whose demeanor was unshaken even by the fact that his wife had been raising a certain level of pressure in the room.

"If you don't know it then it's for your own good." Luke was about pick his saucer again.

"Leave it there." Lucy ordered.

"Haiz..." He just abandoned the cooling tea.

"Now speak. What don't we know that we should know?"

"Look Lucy-love it's not a simple matter, what you are asking of me."

"Speak." Lucy was on her edge.

"The elven race might come out again."

"What does that have to do with Phara?" Steve asked this time.

"Well, you see when your Phara was born she became the new host for that being, if you understand who I'm talking about."

Steve slowly stood up and crossed his arms. Staring at a seated Luke. His eyes already speaking the lines for him. 'Explain yourself you bastard.'

Luke let out a sigh. "Mrs. Carlucas if I may have a sip of my cup."

Lucy was already at her limit and her eyes slowly turned white. "Try it I dare you."

"Fine, if you must know then I'll tell you. As of then the institute wasn't sure because her latent aptitude was not up to par. That was until one day in the daycare when she was playing with her colours and she drew one of the most ancient runes in our library."

"It could have been a coincidence." Steve spoke.

"We all thought that but the next day a different one, and the day after that, and the day after that. For 12 days she was drawing ancient runes. Some were familiar others never seen or heard of. Do you understand where I'm going with this?"

"And why wasn't this told to us after all these years? Did the institute deem it fit that I not know my own daughter's wellbeing?"

"Steve it's not that simple. She could've been n danger far sooner than most were ready for. We supressed her memories then but we didn't think it would last for so long a period. We assumed that if she turned 20 her memories would naturally return but it never did."

"What you are saying is that the institute lost all interest in the case and concluded that the entire situation was mere coincidence."

"Yes... albeit until now."

"She would have been in danger if we had told you. How many times in the past 50 years did you get captured on a mission? Even I have lost count but that's the case as it is."

A few moments of silence prevailed.

"So what is she now? A threat or a..."

"On the contrary." Luke cut Steve off. "You see if the presence of the elves are to be expected that means we will need her to fend off the oncoming slaughter."

"You can't tame the being in her. No one can."

"She can."

"What so you mean by 'She can'?"

"One name, *Wendle." [I'll introduce her later in the book so chill a little]

Steve concentrated his gaze on Luke. "Are... Are you sure?"

"More than a hundred percent positive." Luke looked at his cup sad that it was already too cold to enjoy.

"You may sip on it." Lucy said slyly.

"Ur... Nevermind it's already condemned anyway. When am I expecting our new Nylock kid?"

"In the new term. This term is almost over anyway so just wait till then."

"Very well then. I've already prepared her admission and transfer. All that is left is for you as her parents and guardians to sign and seal."

"Lucy are you open to the idea?" Steve asked his wife who already showed disinterest in the process.

"Whatever. The faster the better."

Luke stood and walked to his desk. On pushing a button on the receiver a female voice greeted. "Mr. Artwright, is there anything I can help you with?"

"Bring in the documents for the new entry Phara Carlucas."

"In a moment sir." A beep was heard as the receiver went out of commission.

A lady then walked in through the foreign set of wooden double doors that welcomed all into the office. She had that air that said 'Sexy Secretary'. Her glasses that accented her blood red lips and shielded her bright blue eyes. Her striped shirt had it's sleeves rolled with a knee length grey tube skirt to match. Her transparent stockings drew a lot of attention which finally settled in a pair of black Channel heels. She walked towards the couple who occupied the sitting area in the office placing a folder in front of a seatted Lucy.

"Long time no see Cheryl. Still looking as lustful as ever." Lucy commented.

"Ooh please, I'm a succubus. It's only natural that I look this appealing." She simply huffed and exited the room.

"Open the folder and go through the papers."

Steve brought out his reedé and drew a rune in the air over the folder. After slashing it it just hovered over the folder transmitting all it's content into his head. After a while the rune turned blue from it's ref form then dispersed.

"There isn't anything wrong with these papers so far." Steve squinted at Luke trying to guage a hidden reaction from him.

"Just sign the documents. Even if there was a hidden scheme going on I am as aloof as you are."

"Hmph..." Steve sat down and started signing through the pages that required him to sign through.

"Mrs. Carlucas can you please assist in the signing. It requires both of you to sign."

"I am signing." She scowled.

Luke looked at the papers and saw ink appear in her signing space continuously. He let an inward sigh. 'It's so good to be a Nymph isn't it.'

Once done with signing. Steve used his teeth pricked his thumb letting blood to leak from it. He then smeared it on the folder leaving a hovering gold streak. Lucy repeated the same thing and let her streak cross his own. Luke was the last finalizing the streaks making it take an asterisk pattern. The streaks welded with themselves then dispersed and fell like stardust on the folder allowing itself to be absorbed.

"And this concludes this meeting. I hope you do well during this holiday season." Luke gave a very warm smile.

Steve used his reedé to slash the air ripping it apart revealing a void. Lucy stood and went through it first. Steve then made his way towards it.

"Steve wait." Luke stopped him in his tracks. "I understand that you are worried especially since this involves your daughter the true heir to the Carlucas holding, however I assure you her safety. I swear by the Sovereign's grace."

Steve just nodded and continued on his way out. He walked into an alley his wife leaning on a wall with her hands crossed.

"What'd he say?"

"Nothing important I assure you."

Without anymore exchange between them they began to move on.
