Once upon a time in my future

The future is a mystery but if it could be placed in the right direction if our present is right and our past don't repeat itself.

This story is being said in different parts of the world but mine is the true version.

Many years ago , during the era of the slave trade, A large army of the famous oyo empire marched towards dahomey and beheaded it's king and torched the city, they left no stone unturned ,the city that was once great was left in shambles, they carried its inhabitants, They sold them to the European slave traders and made away with them on their ship.

Inside the ship, the women and their children continued to let out a pitiful cry ,the slave traders descended on their captives, beating them ruthlessly into submission. Those that had the courage to challenge the slavers were killed and thrown overboard. The chief of the slavers was particularly nasty, He appeared to derive sadistic pleasure in humiliating and abusing his victims. Not even the children and women were spared from his acts of wickedness.

Then one night, in the midst of the incomprehensible darkness of a wide ocean , a terrible storm began, thunder clapped and made noise sending long lashes of terrifying electricity across the black night ,the sea roared and the women shouted ,the children cried. the slavers were horrified. Then in a moment of terror ,one anaconda wave seized the ship and tore it into shreds . Every single one of them died - captives and captors except two persons -the white chief of slave traders and one of the enslaved black men.

Somehow two of them found themselves on an isolated island in the middle of nowhere. The chief slaver had broken some vital bones, he was in a bad state but the black man was healthy except from the wounds inflicted on him by the white man. He nursed his enslaver back to health. And every day he would search for the food they were going to eat. So one day, when the enslaver has recovered a little to understand what was going on ,he asked his companion "who are you?" "I was one of your  captives", the black man replied after that introduction, they both generally minded their business and searched for wild fruit to eat. one day, the white man asked his former captive "why did you decide to help me? Why didn't you kill me after all the evil things I've done to you and your people?" "it's not my place to punish you for whatever sin you have commited  but it's my duty to help another human being in need", The White man was silent for a long time then he said "you are a better human being than me." To which the black man replied "I'm who I'm you are who you are". Soon after that they were rescued by a cargo ship when the ship arrived its destination they both went their separate ways never to see each other again when the white slaver arrived at his own country he resolved to fight against the evil of slavery and slave trade.
