Battle of Ain Jalut

Anna and Connla are on their way to the inner castle of the kingdom.

" So, is it finally time " said Connla.

" It is " said Anna.

" I see, that is way the whole kingdom is on edge " said Connla.

" Can you blame them. The Mongols are a fearsome bunch " said Azi.

" We just have to do our best in the upcoming battle " said Anna.

" I think what you meant to say was, the upcoming war " said Connla.

Anna was quiet.

" Look, I understand. A lot more people die in wars then battles " said Connla.

Anna was still quiet.

Connla just looked at Anna.

" Don't worry, for no matter what happens, I will protect both you and the sultan " said Connla with a smile.

" How do you expect to protect, not only Anna but also the sultan when Anna was the one who beat you in your last fight " said Azi.

Connla was quiet while Anna just smiled.

" I want a rematch " said Connla.

" After the war " said Anna.

Anna and Connla finally reached the inner castle and entered the throne room where all of sultan Baibars councilman and generals were gathered and of course Aaqil was there too.

" My sultan, everything has been made ready per your instructions " said one general.

" Very well, see to it that my army is ready to leave at dawn " said Baibars.

Baibars then noticed Anna and Connla.

Baibars then told his generals and councilmen to leave, so now, only Baibars, Anna, Aaqil and Connla were in the throne room (and also Azi and Ana)

" Saint Anna, I am glad you came " said Baibars.

" Surely you jest my sultan, for I will always come when you call " said Anna.

Baibars smiled.

Baibars then looked at Connla, and then Baibars was no longer smiling.

" He still does not like me " whispered Connla to Anna.

" Give it time " whispered Anna back.

" Are we ready? " said Anna.

" Indeed we are, we will be heading to the battlefield tomorrow where we will be facing the Mongols, and I want you and Connla with me when we head off to war " said Baibars.

" Of course I will come, not just because I am your assistance but who else is going to watch your back " said Anna with a smile.

Baibars smiled.

" I am honored to join you in battle, dear sultan " said Connla.

Baibars was no longer smiling.

" SEE! " whispered Connla.

" Give it time " whispered Anna.

" Now then, I recommend that both you and Connla go rest till dawn " said Aaqil.

Anna looked at Aaqil.

Anna then walked over to Aaqil and then Anna gave Aaqil a hug.

" I will be sure to come back from this battle as well " said Anna.

Aaqil was speechless.

" Enough of that, this kind of behavior is unbecoming of a Saint " said Aaqil.

" Then it is a good thing that I am no Saint " said Anna.

Aaqil was yet again speechless and both Baibars and Connla were smiling.

Anna and Connla were now walking out of the throne room.

" So, where is my hug? " said Connla.

" Here it is big guy " said Azi.

Azi then hugged Connla with her small body.

" Thanks.... " said Connla a little disappointed and Anna was just smiling.

Anna and Connla were enjoying some cake with Asia and Hadil and after having talked for awhile, Asia and Hadil decided to leave, which left Anna and Connla alone at the bakery (but of course Ana and Azi were there too)

" Do you know why people call you a Saint " said Connla.

" I have no clue, I would rather they stop calling me a Saint " said Anna.

" And that is the reason right there " said Connla.

Anna just looked at Connla.

" The fact that you think that you are not worthy to be called a Saint is the reason why you deserve to be a Saint " said Connla.

Anna was confused.

" Maybe one day, you will finally decide to embrace your title " said Connla with a smile.

" I highly doubt that " said Anna with a smile.

Dawn had finally arrived.

Sultan Baibars was on a horse at the city gates and in front of Baibars was his army.

Besides Baibars was Anna and Connla (and Azi and Ana were there too)

Baibars looked at all the men, and one woman, who were ready to fight by his side.

" My loyal warriors, I truly have no words to describe the joy I feel, seeing you all here before me. The enemy we are going to face are known as the Mongols. I would be lying if I said that all of you would be making it safely back to the kingdom, so knowing that, will you all still fight with me " said Baibars.

All of the men in front of Baibars cheered, including Anna and Connla.

" I will not say thank you but I will instead make sure that all of you make it safely back to the kingdom but as I said earlier, some of you may not make it back " said Baibars while he was looking at Connla.

" Why did he look at me? " said Connla.

" Let it go " said Anna.

And so, Baibars and his army rode towards the battlefield that was near Ayn Jalut, Nazareth and Galilee.

The battle of Ain Jalut played out as it is written but there were some changes in this version.

The first being, Anna and Connla joining in on the battle with their legendary weapons and the second being Sultan Baibars being made into a grand sultan after the battle.

In the end.

The Mongols suffered a defeat at the hands of the Mamluk Sultanate.

Baibars army suffered some casualties.

The men that lost their lives were put to rest by the Saint herself, Anna prayed that the men would find peace in paradise.

Baibars, Anna, Connla and Baibars army all went back to the kingdom where they all deserved some time to rest but Anna and Connla did eventually have a rematch and to no one's surprise, Saint Anna was the one victories.
