Chapter 1

“Jake!”.

At first I heard it faintly. I wiped my head around to see where the voice came from. I saw none.

“Jake!!”. More audibly I heard it now. "Who's there"... I asked, still blindly running.

"Jump when I tell you to". The voice said back ignoring my question.

“Okay, I think I'm going crazy already. Hearing voices in my head? woah, that's new.”

I decide to heed to the voice. "Let's hope this voice leads me not to my death" I said out loud.

"NOW"!!!

I made a go for it and landed hard on my butt. Glancing back, I saw the beast just stand there staring at me, it tried to reach me, but I was surprised when its furry hand was singed.

"I think I know what this is"... I thought. Mountain lions?, Werecats?, Wolves... Then it struck. I remember watching a series of the "Teen Wolf", and seeing something like this. Only this beast that stood before me separated from me by only God knows what, was twice bigger than that of Peter's beast in the Teen Wolf series.

But I thought stuffs like that were fables or fictions.

"But one of it is standing right before you now". That voice said, bringing me out from my thoughts.

"What are these?" knowing they'll be more of them around.

"Lycanthropes"... Shape shifters" the voice continued noticing the puzzled look on my face...

"Huh... Okay, why did it just bit me and is trying to kill me then? "... I asked, hoping to see where the voice is from.

"You trespassed..., you walked right into their territory to their realm, how you were able to enter, I know not... " The voice said.

It all made sense now...

"Earlier"

*Bell Rings*

"Hey Jake! What's on your schedule this evening? "

I turned around to see my childhood friend Mason, well he also happens to be my only friend though. The thing is, right from when I was little, I've been known to have a very lean stature which made me look like I could break anytime. Series of test carried out confirmed that nothing is wrong with my vitals though.

This made other kids avoid me like a plaque, but Mason seem to be the only one who wouldn't look on my lean side but treats me like it's okay. And I like him too...

"I don't know yet"... I replied with a smile that matches his, while giving him our BFF handshake. "And I'm hoping you're not forgetting that in four days time I will be celebrating my birthday? "... I asked. Even if I've reminded him like 5 times before closing that day. He smiled...

"Yeah... But when is four days time due to come? " He asked, rubbing his chin pretending not to know.

"Well... I think that should be last year"... I asked smiling at my sarcasm. We laughed and hugged each other then wandered off home to make plans for the evening.

Alexa

"What's wrong with that Mason guy?... What would he want with that bag of bones anyway?" She asked her group of friends or better still Worshipers.

Alexa is known to be the most popular girl in school, to top it, she came from a very wealthy background though, well despite all this, she's also known to be brilliant, close to a Nerd, Only, she doesn't like to be addressed as one... One of what she gets joy at doing most is inflicting pain on people she dislikes... She's also a Pro in teasing guys with her striking beautiful and her luscious body which she tries to reveal anytime she's chanced to... Boy, is she obnoxious! I bet you she is...

"Who knows"... Replied a red head among her clique whose name is Amanda.

"They seem to be quite inseparable"... She added.

"Not for long"... "I'll make sure Mason never move close to him again"... Alexa said with a grin.

"When Jake walks close to you, if you happen to be one that listen more, you could hear his bones rattling"... Melisanda chipped in, the shortest of the Quads.

"Ewww... He looks underfed to me though, and seems to me like someone who's got some sort of a virus in him"... Elizabeth added, though she preferred to be call "Lizzy"

"You can say that again girlfriend"... Rose added, she being the second in command to Alexa. And they all laughed it out.

"I betcha move more closer to Mason if I want to achieve what I want to achieve" Alexa thought, while drumming her fingers together.

"Well, girls let's go" She said. And all of them left the Hall quickly, or rather... they catwalked down the Hall towards Alexa's car.

Four pair of eyes trailed the ladies as they moved towards their car, Assessing them...

"You know, I could use one of their service" One of the guys said.

"Shut up already Josh"... The biggest of the boys said. "If you smell them, you'll see that they're disgusting"... "Can't you smell"...

*Sniffs*...

"Wasn't obvious before, but now that you mentioned it, they sure smell too fake"... "But all the same, what has that got to do with the service they'll be rendering, Charles? " Josh asked.

"Nothing though... Buh I won't be able to withstand all that smell" Charles said sticking out his tongue and Fanning his nose with his hand.

"But who's that Mason guy and Jake they were rambling about? "... Raden one of the quads asked

"I suspect Jake would be that lean boy in our History class and Mason would be that football freak"... Juan chipped in.

"True"... Charles said... "But let's not forget about this evening"... He added.

"What's happening this evening? " Josh asked, with a frown on his face, not liking what he'll hear already.

"Alpha Xavier asked us to come see him, stupid..." Charles answered smiling... He likes it when his brother has that look on his face, he's always looking forward to making him frown.

Josh and Charles, Raden and Juan, are twins from different parents, and they happens to be a supernatural, putting it clearly they are what people know as Lycanthropes Lycan for short, shape shifting beast {wolves}... Though it's unlikely to see a supernatural among the humans, but they were on an assignment to capture a particular supernatural known to have been wiped away for centuries, but was revealed to be sighted in the human realm by a witch. Hence their presence in the human realm.

"Alpha's duty later Charles... But don't you think it's high time we met our mates too?" Juan said while looking at Charles.

"I hope we meet them sooner, my wolf won't just let me rest" Charles said.

“Don't you bring me into this, you liar”... His wolf countered.

Before he could reply his wolf Raden interrupted.

"I can't wait to meet mine either and do all the things that I've been playing in my mind for long to her" Raden said.

"What about you Josh?... Aren't you a bit excited about finding your mate?"... Charles asked his twin brother.

"Nay, when the time comes I will find her" Josh replied getting bored of the discussion already.

“Nicely said”... Josh wolf said, while purring and licking his paws at the same time...

“I can't wait to be out”... He added

"Whatever, let's head home already" Charles ordered. And they all moved out of the school premises towards the woods... Glancing back to make sure no one sees them leave towards there.
