Sakata Akio's POV
The scary senpais finally showed up. I've done a bit of research about their group, Silent Killers. It's not that I want to fight them, obviously. I am a scaredy-cat. I was just curious about them who make students shiver even if they were not the Seishin Kings.
They were called by that name not simply just for a show but because of what happened last year. From the information I gathered from some students, I heard they have swiftly assassinated a notorious criminal group from a foreign country by themselves. The criminal group didn't even got the chance to counter the three of them. That's how they were called as Silent Killers .
Those three are orphans and scholars of this school and have been under the supervision of the government ever since they were born. I don't know how the information was disclosed but nobody said about it outside the school. I guess only people involved in this school knew about this.
Even as kids, the government has seen them as an asset and has deployed them as a special unit whenever similar cases occur. The government uses them as an enforcement for the underworld.
No wonder they have a lot of scars on their bodies and their faces.
I heard they trained since they were 5 and specially educated by the government. They have trained and been equipped with different techniques from different deadly martial arts such as Krav Maga and Wing Chun.
If they were that strong, why were they not named as the Seishin Kings? Just on what level are the Kings ?
When fighting in the tournaments last year, I heard they have only gone as far as to neutralize their opponents. Even if they have not killed a single student, they would only go as far as making the opponents bedridden for a couple of weeks. That's why everybody is still afraid of them.
And when it comes to fighting against the Kings, they are on par. Yet, they always end up defeated by the Kings. They immediately surrender when they become at disadvantage. It is a wise move yet cowardly. I don't know why they are doing that. Is it to avoid unnecessary injuries that could hinder their performance as a special unit? Or are they doing this to avoid getting the bad side of the Kings?
Their intentions seem unclear but one thing's for sure. The government won't stand idly if something happens to the Silent Killers. They probably treasure them the most among the scholars here.
Among the three, Kato-senpai is the smartest. He is skilled on hacking anything. He even won the International Math Olympiad. The strongest is Nakamura-senpai. I heard every time they spar with each other, Nakamura-senpai has never lost to Tanaka-senpai and Kato-senpai. The leader of the group is Tanaka-senpai. He may not be the smartest but he is the one who gets the final say in every decision they make. He is good at making strategies and making wise decisions. He knows how to utilize their abilities of the group members when encountering a strong group of opponents. That was how they defeated the notorious group I mentioned a while ago.
The government has trained them well. They are really a good team but their attitude's a mess. They love on picking on me every time we met. It was just not me though. They picked on everyone who looks weak like me. The students who witnesses them picking on someone will either just turn a blind eye or will also pick on the victims. Just what the hell is their problem?
----------------------------------
The Silent Killers, of course, managed to win their fights with just by neutralizing their opponents. No need to dillydally on what happened.
Rei: Looks like they were not arrogant just for a show. They have something to offer. No wonder students are scared of them.
Akio: Of course. They were called Silent Killers for a reason. They killed a notorious criminal group.
Rei: Really? I heard about it but I didn't know it was them.
Rei-kun looked surprised but then he clicked his tongue.
Akio: What's wrong?
Rei: Looks like I have another group of people I have to watch out for. How are we going to survive this high school for three years? Akio-kun. You better train hard also.
I just stared at Rei-kun's troubled face. I want to be better. But how to start? Where to start? I really hate fighting.
Yamazaki-kun's eyes stared at me sternly. Jeez. So scary.
Akio: Yes. Okay. Yamazaki-kun's stare is scary. I'll try my best.
Rei-kun smacked Yamazaki-kun's head again. Pft.
He really is strong and scared the shit out me during his fight a while ago but when it comes to Rei-kun, he becomes a puppy. I couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.
Tatsuo: I just don't want him to burden you Rei-kun.
He just pouted like a kid who was not given his favorite candy by his parents. A tall and scary kid for me though he's adorable at these times.
Rei: Friends are not burdens. I just told you this a while ago. You help him out if you could.
Tatsuo: Why would I?!
Rei-kun again smacked his head.
Tatsuo: How many times have you smacked my head today Rei-kun. You're so mean.
Yamazaki-kun rubbed his head and snorted.
Rei: Because he is also your friend now. My friends are your friends. Okay? His martial art is Taekwondo.
Tatsuo: Fine. I'm helping him.
Yamazaki-kun switched his gaze to me.
Tatsuo: You better do well. I'm so kind to you to give you a hand. I don't know much about taekwondo but I'll help you learn some grappling techniques from me.

Announcer: Good evening viewers, bettors, and players! I know you are anticipating the finals. But I would like to announce something important.
The noisy crowd turned silent.
Announcer: The Seishin Kings will not be participating today's matches.
The crowd started complaining.
Announcer: They are not here today because they have been summoned to represent Japan in a tournament in Bahrain. The decision was abrupt. We are terribly sorry especially the bettors. I hope you all would still enjoy the tournament without the Seishin Kings' participation. Thank you for understanding and once again, good evening everyone. We will proceed our matches.
I observed the reactions of the people around me and noticed that other players were sighing in relief of the absence of the Kings. The matches continued.
Yamazaki-kun and Watanabe-san won their matches for their respective weight categories. The guys from my class have lost already. The Silent Killers only had Nakamura-senpai and Tanaka-senpai who had won on their matches. Kato-senpai lost to Nakamura-senpai. They have the same weight category.
There are three rings in the arena as to not to consume the time for more than a day.
And currently, Watanabe-san will be facing Tanaka-senpai and Yamazaki-kun will be facing Nakamura-senpai.
I don't know where to watch. It's no skin off my nose but I am just concerned on how would things end with my friends.
I guess I consider Watanabe-san as my friend. Our relationship was not clear but he's been watching me from afar and helping me when I need something. Though he's a scholar. I guess he's good? I don't know. I haven't asked Watanabe-san and Saito-san's actions of the prison event with Rei-kun.
The matches have begun. I chose to observe the fight of Watanabe-san first.
Both of them are studying on each others movements. They're testing the waters. Each of them threw a punch or a kick to the shin.
After a while, Tanaka-senpai clinched Watanabe-senpai on the latter's hips. The latter's arms are unable to move since it was locked by the former's arms. The latter was on a defensive stance, trying to get out of the former. The former kicks the latter's leg. As the latter was able to free himself from the former, the former kicked the latter's calves.
Both of them are trying to grapple each other. And every time they get the chance to grapple the other, they kick the legs, or punch one's head.
As they broke free from each other, Watanabe-san got the chance to punch Tanaka-senpai's face. and blood started to bleed from the latter's nose.
On the other side, it was a surprise that both have already had their faces bloodied. Seriously, what happened here? Nakamura-senpai and Yamazaki-kun are both amazing. They were able to inflict injuries on each other only on the first round.
Yamazaki-kun ran towards Nakamura-senpai, grabbed the latter's head and struck with his knee. That was so cool. But what amazes me is that latter's face was not fazed and still managed to be calm.
As Yamazaki-kun puts down his leg from the knee strike, Nakamura-senpai was about to counter but the time for the first round was already up.
The cutmen treated the injuries of the players. The scores were shown. Watanabe-san and Yamazaki-kun's side were both a tie.
The second round began both fights were now more focused on grappling. I am honestly confused as to where to stick my eyes on.
The crowd started jeering.
What's wrong with grappling? It is really a difficult situation if you were on their shoes.
The referees of both rings separated the players. This time both matches stopped on grappling and started exchanging powerful kicks and fists. Did they read each other's minds?
After a series of punches and kicks, the crowd turned silent in surprise as players of both rings were knocked out. Those players were Watanabe-san and Yamazaki-kun. Yamazaki-kun was kicked on his solar plexus with a turning kick by Nakamura-senpai while Watanabe-san was knocked out by a punch to the throat.
That's a foul in an official MMA match but this school promotes murder. Of all fouls, they allowed the strikes to the throat and the back of the head. These strikes could kill an opponent. That's why every player is wary of their opponent and try to not get hit on their necks.
Watanabe-san was immediately taken to the hospital with Yamazaki-kun. Rei-kun and I immediately followed them. We were not able to finish watching the matches as our friends' safety is our priority.
Watanabe-san might die because of his fatal injury. I couldn't fathom as to what should I feel about this situation. Please don't let Watanabe-san die.
