Chapter 4

RAIN

"AS a mandatory subject to all new students, the history of this world will be discussed." Professor Kyle said as he looked at us one by one.

When he looked at my direction, he slightly bowed his head.

Kyle's the only creature here in Casa del Crea who truly knew who I am.

When I got exiled in Salabidus, he was the person whom I reached with.

He was my personal attendant when I was born until I turned three. After I made havoc, he brought me to Salabidus and stayed by my side until I turned ten. After that, I sent him away from me to have his own life. Even if he did not want to leave, I still forced him to leave by the use of threats.

I just didn't want anyone see me suffering. I prefer I just keep my sufferings.

But then Sapphire happened.

And Soleil.

And my once hellish life became more severe. And then I was exiled and Kyle was there to help me.

"But before we continue, you will have nine classmates more in this subject. All in all, there are twenty students in this class," he continued and tried to speak again when the door opened, "Oh here they are. Everyone, meet the nine Elites."

And something tugged me when slowly, nine faces came into view. But what caught my attention were the two faces, the same as mine, staring curiously at the eleven of us.

Suddenly, tears kept building on my eyes. And the next thing I knew, raindrops came pouring outside while the bright rays of sunshine were shining on everyone.

I'm happy.

Finally, after fifteen long years, I saw them again.

My twins.

-----

ERIN

I saw how Reya’s face contorted while looking in front.

"God! Why does it rain while Mr. Sun is at its best?" she whispered irritatingly enough for the rest of us beside her to hear.

We heard the professor clearing his throat then spoke again. "For all your knowledge, the Elites have different subjects from the rest of the hierarchy. They have advanced topics than all of you here since they’re sometimes not around. And because of that, they missed some minor subjects that all students need to take.” He explained while looking around.

I saw him stopped at the last row where Rain was sitting alone. I saw him bowed quickly then turned his gaze on the other students.

He turned to us afterwards then gestured his hands towards the vacant seats. “You can sit anywhere you want.”

I didn’t know why but I just realized my feet were moving their way towards Rain.

But before I could sit beside her, Lu was already on the seat on her left side. I just decided to sit at her right but I remained standing in front of her.

"Hey, Bitch.”

I tsked at her greetings.

"Come on, bitch. Talk to me. You have to pay me for the place I introduced to you. As I’ve said before, don’t let your saliva and voice come to waste.”

I smiled at what she said.

Rain raised her head and looked at us two.

Our smile froze when we saw her nose and eyes red.

"Why are you crying?" Lu exclaimed that everyone in the class looked at our direction and made me sat on the seat at her right.

"N-nothing. It's just because of the rain." She bowed again to wipe the tear that’s threatening to fall.

"Psh. It's just the rain." I abruptly looked at the lady beside me.

"Rey, let her cry. Maybe she just remembered something because of the rain." I said to defend Rain.

“It's all right, Erin.”

"Psh." Reya rolled her eyes afterwards.

And I felt that. The quick bereavement from Sereya. I could feel it. Something feels off.

Everything around me shouts happiness and longing.

I just ignored that and focused on class attention.

“RAIN, come with us for lunch," I said while looking at the black lady beside me who’s busy fixing her things.

"I’m sorry. I can’t come. I have something to do in my dorm," she politely declined.

I decided to let her be but Sere came and went to her. "I insist. You are friends with Erin so we are now friends. Come on. Come with us. Do your thing later if we finished our meal," she sweetly uttered and rested her head on her shoulder as if she’s a kid who’s convincing her mother to do something for her.

Rain sighed then said, "All right.”

Serenity being serenity, she clapped her hands happily then linked her arm on Rain’s arm.

She turned to us and beamed happily. “Let’s go."

We just smiled at her sweet gestures and we followed them towards the cafeteria.

Those who were eating stopped and looked at us.

Rain’s eyes were on the ground while listening to Sere’s joyful remarks. While the boys behind us were silent and silently following us. We went straight to our usual spot and allowed them to order for us.

"So where did you came from, bitch?" Reya asked Rain immediately when we were seated.

"Salabidus."

We were surprised at her answer.

"Salabidus? The cursed world?" Derene asked curiously.

''I-I do not know it's cursed. "

We eyed her incredulously.

"Seriously, Bitch. You don't know? You came from that rotten world. The news that’s spreading around here says that that world was cursed because of the cruelty of the creatures there. How do you not know about it? "Reya asked.

"Maybe Because I was an outcast?”

Her answer made us still.

"Y-you what?” Derene and Sere both uttered.

“Back there, was also bullied, hurt. I-I never had a friend but Sapphire. Like me, she was also a victim of their wickedness. I was exiled in that place."

All of us who were listening to her turned serious.

That was why she was aloof and uncaring. To the point that she never minded the things students here did to her. She was used to it: pain, sorrow, feeling of being unfit, and an outcast.

My heart just went out to her. I- as if I was the one who experienced what she experienced.

After a moment of silence, Reya spoke again. “It’s good that you left that place,” she then tsked," I think that curse, they deserve it, "she added and grinned.

“Rey ..." Sere said while looking at her twin.

Reya just dismissed her and continued talking to Rain. “You know, I’m curious. Have we met before? "

Rain looked at her as if telling something. I expected for her to say yes but she shook her head.

“N-no? “She answered with a question mark.

Reya scratched her head." You're really familiar to me. I'm pretty sure we've met. I just don't remember where. It is impossible if I met you in Salabidus. I've never been there before. "

Rain, without her scarf on, smiled. “Maybe you just mistook me for someone."

Reya nodded." Maybe."

Rain did not answer because the boys came with the tray of foods.

“I do not know what you want to eat so you've just bought you like the same as Sere’s. I hope you don’t mind,” Nero said while handing Rain her food.

Rain smiled. “It's okay.”

When we had our own plates full of foods, we started eating without uttering a word.
