'An Arrival'

As I tossed my head back and raised my eyes to see the sky, soaked in gleaming moonlight, a calm-inducing voice touched my ears.

"You're not my weakness, Linnet, and you're not someone who requires my protection. I am well aware. Yet I can't help but want you to be miles away from any kind of danger." His grip around my hand tightened. "I know you will do well. Remember to not lose your calm. You know where to aim."

"Their throats." I smiled.

"If it's too much, just leave everything on me. I don't want you to push yourself too hard."

Listening to his soft, well-thought-out words, I realized I had no fears. The chorus of blowing wind in the trees, the soft rustle and susurration of leaves was a tickle to my ears and a song so soothing. However, the hypnotic beauty of the scene was nothing in comparison to the presence right beside me. I knew that if it's for him, I can go any heights and fight the world if I have to.
