'The Devourer'

The light from the lit-up chandeliers danced on the porcelain floor, blanketing the whole throne hall in a warm glow. That's where our misfortune brought us to.

From a striking throne crested with several jewels sitting atop a tall elevated platform, Maureen's expectant and trivialising stare scorned us as if we were some insects that dared to show up and could be stomped upon by her anytime. With a disdainful smirk, she kept playing with the long pink hairs of an expressionless doll-faced little girl, who was all dressed up and wearing shining jewellery.

"Sugars, you should've listened to Linnet!" She laughed at us. "I wanted you to be my guest too, Wiola, but you even fetched me more guests to play with? That's so sweet of you."

"Shut your mouth up and let us get out of here, " Wiola seethed.

"Okay sugar, but let me ask one last time, Where is Enchanted Tanzanite? You don't want your mortal friends dead, do you?" Maureen threatened.
