Thursday 19th Of September

Before class Rilie takes a deep breath, she starts to hear whispering in her head, she tries to ignore it and walks into school. "J- Jade..." Her voice is too low to be heard, "Sa-... Sam... I need you..." She grabs her head pushing her hands on her head, Jordan notices her and walks to her. "What are you doing, you don't look to well." He laughs and then she pushes him out of her way and runs into the toilet, Jade walks over to him and stares at him with cold eyes. "What did you say to her?" He smiles, "I didn't say anything." Jade nods smiling, "Oh really, girls just push you and run all the time." Jordan laughs, "Nothing is funny about upsetting a girl." He smiles, "Only if I upset you." Jade rolls her eyes as she walks to class.

The bell rings, Jade sits in her seat doodling, lightly using the pencil then the teacher hands out a sheet and she stops to do the work. "That new boy is hot, I bet I can make him mine." Jade giggles, "What's so funny?" Jade turns around, "The fact you think you can have him." Katie laughs, "Jordan, I think your losing your girl to Lukas, should tighten that leash of hers she's getting out of hand, down girl." Jordan looks over half smiling, "Shut up Katie, you're like the needy foundation." Katie laughs, "Didn't hear you deny anything there, Say goodbye to your girlfriend Jordan." Jade rolls her eyes and faces forward and Jordan looks outside the window.

The bell rings, Taylor runs thought the hallway crashing into people and getting though tiny gaps that people leave, she finds Jade then squeezes past and screams her name out. "Jade!" Jade looks around for the voice, she grabs her arm as she falls to the floor. "Ouch, Taylor?" She let's go of her then tries to speak, "Ri-" She sits up on the floor and takes huge deep breath, "Sh- shouldn't... have ran" as she slowly regains her strengths, she starts again. "Rilie, she started acting strange." Jade helps her up, "You know that's naturally her..." Taylor looks at her, "No it wasn't normal, Please, I know were in a fight but this is important." Jade nods, "Where she go?" Taylor shrugs, "Let me tell you what she did in class first." Taylor pulls her to a quiet spot, "She came in late ignoring the teacher as she got to her seat she was whispering, talking about Sam and the voices." Jade tries to think, "Sam..." Taylor looks at Jade, "Yeah, Sam. She should be fine but we'll go check on her, Sam is a normal thing to her." Taylor adds something else to the story, "Then she walked out." Jade grabs her by the arm, "That also sounds normal." Taylor pulls her back, "You know we can't miss class, plus you said she's fine." Jade looks down, "Yeah, your right... I have Mrs. Tuck." Taylor hugs Jade, "We will find her right after class I promise!" Jade smiles worryingly then they walk to class.

The bell rings, Jade sits fidgeting with string she picked up from the desk without realising, she hears words being spoken but can't quiet work it out. "Jade?" She jumps as the book get taken off the desk, Mrs. Tuck rolls her eyes and stares deeply into her eyes. "Yes Mrs. Tuck?" Her eyes blink and Mrs. Tuck walks to the board slowly, "The answer Miss Fend?" Jade looks at the board clueless, "I have no idea." Mrs. Tuck laughs, "I highly dough you will pass next week, you don't have the intelligent to keep up." Jade looks away as if that's the least of her priorities, But when the bell starts ringing, her feet sprint for the door.

Taylor is hovering over Rilie who is on the ground staring, as if she's been paralyzed, Jade comes running over. "She won't respond to me." Rilie turns her head slightly facing them, Jade tries to talk but the voices in the corridor take over and Rilie's eyes start to water. "Rilie! What's wrong?" Rilie watches their mouth open and shut repeatedly, Her bottom lip drops and she starts to speak. "I can't- I can't hear you..." Rilie's mumbled words were hard to hear, Jade and Taylor look towards each other. "I think she just said she can't hear." Jade looks at Rilie and then back at Taylor, "Are you sure?" Taylor nods, "She's gone deaf..." Jade struggles to believe it, "We better take her to the principle." They slowly pick up Rilie throwing her arm around each of them, when they reach his room Taylor dumps Rilie on the chair dragging Jade with her and with no hesitation Taylor blurts out. "Rilie can't hear us! She's gone deaf!" Jade looks at her surprised and picks herself up, The principle starts writing on a piece of paper about what started happening. "Thank you for your help girls, you may now leave." Taylor walks out looking back 10 times to see if she had made any progress, Jade gives her a hug goodbye and walks out shutting the door behind. "Jade? we better go eat." Jade slowly let's go of the door knob, "We can't tell anyone!" Taylor nods and pulls Jade away to lunch, they sit there awkwardly staring at their foods, mushing it together turning their food into baby food.

The bell rings, Jade gets up and looks at Taylor, then waves as she walks away to class. Jade walks into class with Katie drawing on her book, she grabs it out of her hand and smiles. "You should take drawing lessons, because your no Banksy." Katie rolls her eyes then sits in her seat, Jade takes her seat staring at her book. Taylor is still sitting in the dinner hall playing with her food then looks up to see almost everyone's gone, she gets up leaving her tray on the table and walks to class at a slow pace, She notices Preston then rushes in before him.

The voices in Rilie's head dies down, her eyes are red, under her eyes were blotchy from scratching and her cheeks were rosy pink. Her brother walks through the door and the principle smiles towards him and she turns her head slowly, a tear runs down her face and she gets up and hugs him tightly. "I- I can't hear..." He pulls her face towards him and smiles and she smiles back weakly, they walk out the school together and he kneels down. "Try breathing slowly" She stares at his mouth, while the voices slowly fade away. "I- I-" He pulls her towards him and hugs her tightly, "I can hear again..." He pushes her off him, "Rilie! was you lying? I was worried!" He gets up in anger, "Please, listen." He looks her in the eyes and all his sorrow has gone, "I- I can hear things, T- they tell me things..." She starts to cry, "I'm not c- crazy, he was my best friend, h- he turned against me." He looks at her worryingly, he puts his arm around her then they start walking. "If I tell you, please, don't tell mum! I can reassure you, I was sane before, I was!" He nods, "She's got enough on her plate, we can deal with this! promise. I've known you all my life, you're definitely sane." She stops and he looks back at her, "Thank you." He smiles, "Thank you for everything, thank you for believing me." She gives him another big hug then they carry on walking home.
