Chapter 2 : Stranger
Ritz
After six months.
“On this coming Saturday, we will going to him, your soon to be husband. Behave, Ritz! I'm warning you.”
I nod and smiled to them but deep inside I would rather want to display my disappointment and disapproval to their wants. But as he said, let's behave for now and just agree with them.
I must act that I am willing to do it or else. They wouldn't gave me the position that I want. I'll just need to take this challenge lightly because, I am not alone now in this game. I still have my twin, Rizz to help me to get out of this.
After the test that we does that time. We waited for the whole day and one night to finally see the results of it and it didn't failed us at all. It is positive!
And starting from that moment, our life change for the better. We are really glad that this unexpected meet-up happened.
We were finally have each other that never in our entire life hope and wish for.
In the past six months. I had her to be my companion and a big sister who never fails me everytime but, we were just meeting secretly to avoid bigger problems with our grandparents.
We assumed that they did not knew everything about my twin sister existence at all because if they did, I am sure that her existence is already revealed to our world long time ago, since from the very start.
So, we created a plan to expose all their secrets and know the truth about everything, in a way that I must be her and she must be me whenever or wherever we decided to switch our identities.
On seeking the goal that we wanted. We must do it effectively without getting caught.
Our top priority now is to claim ourselves as the rightful heir to our own family business that our grandparents still having right at this moment.
When we succeed on this, everything will go easier for us but this marriage arrangement is taking all of our chances to have that easily but we will not backing out to this game that they created.
The proposition they gave to us was still acceptable in some other terms. We will have the company they owned that fast but we or rather she or I will must do it, neither I or she will be getting married to a stranger.
Our secrets are still secrets and the same goes to them. We were digging it all up silently but we really need to be extra careful this time.
We were being watch now.
As of now, we just agreed to them but as for both of us, we still didn't know whose the who that willing to wear the bridal gown and walk on the aisle as this age of ours.
“Riri, Are you alright?”
“I'm fine, Gab. Don't worry!” I answered.
We are having a meeting now to one of our big client on a fine and famous coffee shop near by at the company. Gab, my cousin, insisted to tag along with me here which I easily agree.
We still waiting for that big client to come in. We went here ahead of time because it is better to wait than your the one whose waiting for. It is an act of being a professional one during your working hours.
“Are you really sure that you're alright? because the way I see it, it says otherwise”
“Let's talk about it later, Gab. It's still working hours!”
“Alright, Let's do our work first!”
I keep sighing but I didn't know why? Do I look bother about it? It's on this coming Saturday already, that fast? Give me a break!
As soon as they decided on it, there is no turning back. No consultation? They drop it as it was nothing to them but as far as I can remember we already agree on this case. So, what is the point of my sulking here?
Let's do it. Never run. Face it off!
Whoever is him...
Let's face it! Whoever is he.
“He is here now. Focus, Riri!”
I nod to Gab and instantly switch myself to serious mode. I welcome our big client for today, genuinely and warmly.
It's work time now!
“Thank you Mr. Escariaga for your time. We will patiently wait to your answer, Sir!”
“Have a good day!”
After discussing the proposal we prepared for him. We both say our farewell to each other. He leaves us first in our meeting place while I and Gab decided to stay there for a bit.
“No works other than this?”
“This is the last one for today. What's the matter?”
“Nothing. You want to unwind for a bit, Riri?”
“Sure, I will just message her to accommodate us there.”
“Take your time. I will pay the bills for us, wait here!”
He left me on our seat for a while. I was busy now on my phone while waiting for him to comeback.
A minutes passed, he came back and from that moment I just got a reply from her saying that she's agree to hang out with us. I rely the message on Gab and obviously, he is so excited for it.
From the exact time that we go out to the coffee shop, another batch of people also came in. I plan to ignore them at first but my eyes are locked in to that young man who was walking directly in front me or I am assuming this again?
“Riri, come on!”
Gab's shout was made me back to reality. I hurriedly walk away to them and to him without looking back.
I went in to Gab's car fast without meeting his gaze again. Honestly, my heart is beating so fast and loud now. I don't know why but I came up with an assumption that this may going to be a distraction to me and to our plans.
I must avoid this, whatever it takes.
I just hope that this is the last one that I am going to see him.
He is just a stranger. Nothing more, Nothing less.
“A stranger... just a stranger.”
Focus, Riri!
to be continued.
