Crying for Him

It was three years ago when it happened. Riku got his first ever car from his parents. Being an only child has many perks but it is also lonely. Aside from his parents' love for him, he also looked for other people's love.

At the age of nineteen, he already got his driving license. He was the first one to have it among his classmates in school. Everyone also knows that he is in a relationship with a girl from an all-girls school.

With his parents' reputations within their professions, he became that kind of person who is always getting attention from strangers. He became the captain of soccer team of their school and their team won several awards from every tournament.

He was still a kid when he learned on how to play a piano and his parents enrolled him for piano lessons since he insisted on attending one. He also got vocal training while having piano lessons. Who would not love someone like him after all those talents and everything he got for his life?

Everyone thought that the girl he has relationship with is already his lifetime partner but they were wrong. He was on his way to Arisa's apartment when he decided to buy a bouquet of pink tulips, which is her favorite.

Arisa is living in an apartment that time because her parents are always out of the country. Though they have their own house, she chose to live in an apartment so that she can also have her private time with Riku.

He got the spare key of her apartment from his pocket and opened the door. He smiled while staring at the bouquet he is holding. He looked for Arisa but she is not around until he heard a faint noise from the bedroom.

The door is not completely closed and he doesn't know why he only peeked from outside and didn't open it. He clenched his fist tight with what he saw. He went out of the apartment quietly and sat besides the doorway.

He doesn't know if he did something wrong for him to be cheated on like that. He saw Arisa with another man inside their bedroom, inside the room where they made love several times, inside the room where he swore to marry her after finishing a degree, inside the room where they started building their dreams together. And the worst of all, he saw them having sex.

His tears started to fall and he threw the bouquet against the wall. He doesn't know for how many hours he sat outside her apartment. It is already dark when the door went open. Arisa didn't know that he is there, so her eyes widened when she saw him.

He doesn't want to see her kissing that man. He doesn't want to see her smiling because of that man. He heard her calling for him but he didn't look at her. He took the ring off from his finger and dropped it on the floor. It is their promise ring but it is already useless.

"Am I not enough?" He whispered and Arisa knelt beside him. She started crying and she reached for his hand but he shoved her away.

"What did I do wrong? Is my love not enough? Am I not that good in having sex? What do you want to love me more? What did you see in him that I don't have?" He asked those questions to her but he didn't receive any answers.

"I'm sorry, Rikkun.." That's all he heard from her. He stood up already and turned his back on her. He can't look at her after all of those.

"Let's break up. I wish you happiness with him. Thank you for everything." He said before walking away from her. Every step is so heavy for him but his heart is feeling heavier.

It is too painful but he needs to accept that he is no longer making her happy. She will not do that if he is enough. She will not do that if she really loves him. He doesn't know since when she started cheating on him but if he didn't caught them, he may be the dumbest and most idiotic person already.

Ichika doesn't know for how long she managed to control her emotions right after she learned about Riku's past. They are on their way back home and she is just looking at his back while walking. He is holding her hand when she suddenly stopped for a while and tightened her grip on his hand.

"What’s wrong?" Riku asked and he turned to look at her. The smile on his lips slowly disappeared when he saw her crying.

"Why are you crying?" He panicked for a little bit but he started wiping her tears. They are already in front of her apartment unit and ever since he learned where she lives, walking her home became his habit.

He gently pulled her into a hug and she buried her face on his chest. Without any words, she let out all of her feelings to him. She doesn't know why she wants to cry for him. How can someone cheat on Riku like that? He may be annoying but he is the most caring person she has ever met.

She cried more when he started leaving kisses her forehead and temples. The person he will fall in love with will be the luckiest. How can someone look for another man if your man is Yamada Riku?

Riku cupped her cheeks and kissed her tears. She stared at him while silently sobbing but he just smiled at her. He asked for her keys and he is the one who opened the door for her.

"Stop crying. Why are you crying? Did I do something wrong?" He asked while closing the door behind him. He continued on giving her kisses on forehead and temples but she shook her head. She will never admit that she is crying for him.

"At least, tell me why? I'm worried." He guided her to the couch and made her sit on his lap. She buried her face on the crook of his neck while still sobbing.

"My crybaby. If you have a problem, tell it to me, okay?" He snuggled her closer to him as he softly hummed a song. If she will choose a man whom she can spend her lifetime with, it will be him.

She will never admit those thoughts to him. She doesn't want to give him a burden nor the slightest shred of confusion that might lead to a broken heart. As much as possible, she wants to know him well but now that she is slowly uncovering his past and his personality, she is starting to fall for him.

How can someone be so perfect like him? Everything that she looks within a man, Riku possesses it. If she will let herself fall in love with him completely, will he catch her? She doesn't know but how will she know if she will not take a risk?

"Riku.." She called for him but she didn't dare to look at him. She is already comfortable with him. His presence makes her day complete. Whenever he is trying to annoy her, it is making her smile instead. This annoying man is slowly taking a large part of her life.

"Hm? What is it? Tell me. I'm listening." He said but she wrapped her arms around his nape tightly. He tightened his hug around her and smiled widely.

"Will you catch me if I fall?" She mumbled and without any hesitation, he nodded his head. She leaned back and stared at his eyes.

"I will not force you. I'll wait for you to be ready." She nodded her head and smiled faintly. He cupped her cheeks once more and rested his forehead on hers. She closed her eyes, enjoying the silence between them.
