Episode 16

Janet was dejected to hear that Rafay was not asking her to have lunch with him. She stood there seeing the waiters continuing to arrange the lunch. Rafay turned and walked out of the cabin.

'Why did he not asked them to stop arranging?" She thought as she hurried out of his office only to see him entering Elnaz's cabin. She thought that she had lost it or it she was imagining things. Slowly she tiptoed towards the cabin to hear their conversation.

"Elnaz I wanted to invite you to have lunch with me." Rafay said looking around.

"But-

"Look I know. Just accept it as a thanks for today's morning meeting." He intervened in between.

"Thanks because you think I convinced them?" Elnaz asked him.

"Yes."

"I didn't do anything. I just said what they should be doing in their place. Nothing big. No need to thank me." She explained.

"I know you are trying to refuse me by saying so." Rafay said taking the hint from her words.

"No but ya Allah why are you saying so? I just meant that I didn't do anything." She replied aghast.

"Then come on it's a small lunch nothing big time." He smiled at her.

"Hmm.. okay." She said giving up.

Janet was horrified on listening to their conversation.

'Did he invited her?' She couldn't believe her ears.

They both of them came out and she stood their still trying to believe that it just happened and she was dreaming a nightmare.

"Hey listen, you didn't had lunch yet right?" Rafay asked Janet to which she shook her head in a negative.

"Good I will send you some food in your cabin." He told her and both of them walked away.

'God! Can the day be any more terrible?' She thought. She had a headache by now. All she thought was now down in vain.

Rafay held the door open for Elnaz to enter his cabin. She suddenly felt overwhelmed in his presence. They never basically talked with each other. More so before she even came to California she use to fear him and was self conscious in-front of him. Everything between them was different and was not good either. They were practically strangers whose parents knew each other and whose siblings were married. But now things have started to take a new turn and she was able to feel it. They were becoming friends. But it was all new and she would never get used to be in a presence of personality like him. He had this dominating aura around him. Even a girl as cheerful as her would become serious in front of him. He rarely smiled and nevertheless he never ever joked. This all made her uneasy as she couldn't be herself in front of him and she had to control what she would say or do as he might think of her as stupid.

Rafay slowly closed the door behind him and pulled out a chair for her to sit. She tried her best to hid her blush.

'Allah i don't want to embarrass myself. Please help me.' She mentally prayed.

'Why did he had to arrange this lunch? He could have sent food to her cabin. At least she wouldn't be so overwhelming.' She thought. He sat in front of her.

Slowly he uncovered the food and she saw what he had ordered. Her favourite Italian cuisine dishes was lying in front of her. Her eyes bulged out as she saw her favourite. He saw her reaction and smiled at her.

"Shall we start?" He asked her.

"Huh?" She looked at him dumbfounded.

"Shall we eat? The food is running cold." He replied smiling at her reaction.

"Hmm. . . Yeah." She said looking down knowing he caught her reaction.

'Oh my! What will he think of me! That she has never eaten before!' She mentally slapped her self.

"Here what do you want to eat?" He asked before serving.

"Hmm.. mini pizza over there." She said as he served her those.

"You like Italian cuisine?" She asked him.

"No. But I don't hate it. I like Indian cuisine." He told her.

"Then why did you ordered Italian? You could have order Indian cuisine right?" She asked.

"But I thought you liked Italian cuisine." He said her catching her off guard. She never thought he knew what she would like. She blushed hard therefore she ducked her head down and silently ate her food. Both of them remained quiet while they had lunch. She couldn't eat much as she had eaten a burger before.

"Try the lasagna. It's good." He said as he offered her some.

"No I am full. Thanks." She replied.

"But you didn't ate anything." He said dejected.

"I had burger before." She told him.

"Eat some you won't grow fat." He said offering her lasagna.

This time she ate it without much denial. She didn't wanted to portray herself as a girl who is in to dieting.

After they were done eating Elnaz got up to leave as she turned towards the door Rafay thanked her for her genuine effort towards the promoters. She just shook her head smiling and left the cabin.
