It's only an advantage if you don't pressure it

12:30 a.m.

It was half past midnight and Jasmine still wasn't able of sleeping.

She kept moving left and right every now and then. She stared at the moonlight that was so glazed through the windows of the room. She gazed through the room not being able of seeing most things clearly. She was on her phone and even slightly touched what was on the table beside the bed with the tips of her hand.

Eventually she gave up and sat straightly out of boredom.

She wasn't even sure why she couldn't sleep.

She felt uncomfortable with what was happening around here.

The fact that Elijah had a sister and didn't even state that on the notebook he gave means that he didn't want her to find out about him having one right?

He wouldn't even let them greet each other earlier.

He pulled her inside the kitchen for about fifteen minutes and then they both walked out in different directions without speaking to anyone again.

She heard Farina call her to finish supper but she just ignored her and went to her room as Jasmine supposed.

Farina apologized to Jasmine saying that they don't understand each other well so they always have these misplaced conversations.

Her name was Caden as she recalls.

Jasmine let out a sigh that showed how frustrated she was.

She hasn't even been here for 24 hours and her she is feeling some weight on her shoulders.

She felt a little down now that she thinks about it.

Elijah seems to be the kind that doesn't say the whole truth. He's the kind that barely even says anything at all. He only speaks of what he thinks is enough, which in most situations, is not.

Staring at her reflection on her right she got off the bed to search for the text book Elijah gave her.

She was almost so sure he hadn't written anything down about Caden, but maybe she was mistaken. I don't think Elijah would leave out such important information.

But what if he didn't want Jasmine to know anything about her.

She would've found out either ways because they're fucking married in the end.

Maybe he thought it wasn't Important to say such a thing to her, after all they seemed like they weren't on good terms. You could just feel it with the tension that was dropped by both their presence.

Jasmine stopped looking and just sat on the couch that was in front of her.

Her eyes automatically looked at the room she wasn't able of entering earlier. Which turned out to be Elijah's home office, library and bedroom.

She didn't know what it was exactly. It had a mixture of all three.

She hadn't entered it but when Elijah was about to go in he told her he'd be sleeping in that room since he has his own bed inside. And when he opened to enter for a second or two she saw a desk and book shelves everywhere.

Shaking her head a little, she stood up. She'll get a chance to see it on her own. She looked for her sweater and put it on.

She wasn't anywhere near being sleepy, and she doesn't feel comfortable enough to even try to sleep. She was too afraid to walk out the room and roam around a mansion this big without knowing any part of it.

A desperate sigh escaped her as she walked to the rooms balcony.

This is as close as she could get to the fresh air she needs.

Opening the door she could feel the cold night breeze hit her skin lightly and the moonlight just found its way inside.

She had her hair down and was now brushing lightly thro her waist that was uncovered.

Standing on the edge she stared down at the mansion. It looked even more define now that she has the upper view.

The two garden's met half way at the end and the pool was in an over all round shape. It looked huge enough even from far away. She could see the gates and drive through which both lit up in such a beautiful way from each sides. She was able of seeing movements at each side of the mansion and it was probably their Chauffeurs and Servants. There was a small house at the end of the mansion which was probably where they stayed.

These people are living like royalty. She couldn't even imagine the amount of money they have now seeing how they're living and where. The perfect definition of ' fed-by-a-silver-spoon-since-birth'.

This just made her more anxious. Jasmine knew very well that more money meant more trouble. She knew that if they have such things then they must lack so much more in other directions.

God she can slowly start to understand why Elijah is wierd like this.

She's been watching him closely since her eyes fell on him, and until this moment she isn't able of understanding who he is or what he thinks of.

But I guess now its falling into pieces a little. Living with this much fortune can easily close you out of the world and into a world of your own.

Jasmine swallowed hard.

This. All of this, she wasn't so aware of before the marriage. If she was she would've gave it another thought or two. But Elijah wouldn't even give a chance to do so.

She was so afraid of being eaten alive in this jungle. Jasmine was aware that she was so different than they are. She knew that the minute her eyes crossed his, but she never imagined it would be this severe.

And now being so far away from home she feels a little weak.

" Repunzel Repunzel will you please let down your hair?" A voice from underneath jolted her a little.

Looking down she saw a man that was half naked and wet laughing and seemed to barley be able of standing.

"Well hello beautiful. What are you doing up there in my sweet cousin's room?" He said once he realized he got her attention.

He was shirtless and had some black jeans on and a tie around his neck. Clearly looked, talked, and walked like a drunk.

"Does Elijah know he has a beautiful like you waiting for him up there or would you like me to come and accompany you?" He barely finished his sentence as he fell twice while looking up at her.

Cousin.

He said Elijah was his cousin.

Looking with more concentration she was able of noticing who he was.

Jordan. Elijah's older cousin. They met before but he was too high to even recognize her I guess.

"Talk to me." He declared pulling her out of her thoughts once again.

She didn't take him to be the oblivious kind that just drinks and acts so childish.

"Your drunk." She replied still trying to figure him out.

He gave her his million dollar smirk.

"Yes Sir I am. And it feels wonderful!" He shouted back at her as he threw both his hands in the air.

"Well it'll feel less wonderful when you wake up in a couple of hours much more sober." She remarked back at him.

"Who cares I'm having fun now. You party pooper." He said as he started laughing.

"You should." She bit back.

He looked at her with some disappointment.

"Aren't you feeling cold?" She added.

"No Feel HOT as HELL!! " He laughed again.

Wow he really drank himself to oblivion. He can't even speak correctly and how Jasmine can smell the alcohol from that distance now she was wondering how he can still stand and speak..well barely.

"You should leave, he is a married man now. He can't fool around with you. But the good news is.. I can." He caught her attention again with that loud laugh he has.

"Hmm. Really?" Was all she could reply back.

"Let me say your the first woman I see standing up there after Steph. You should feel proud." He said while coughing between his words. He seemed like he had a hint of a cold standing there all wet.

His words made Jasmine tremble a little.

Was he talking about Stephanie King? The woman they spoke about earlier?

"Who is Steph?" Jasmine clearly asked Waiting for an answer.

"One cold hearted bitch." He remarked with a smirk.

"She can't possibly be more cold than Elijah." She said trying to keep the conversation going.

"No she is nowhere near Elijah. She's clod in a different way. A scary way." He said this sentence in a low voice she wasn't able of hearing most of it.

"Anyways gotta go señora, hope to see in the morning." He said as he winked and walked inside.

Jasmine watched him until he disappeared from her sight as he left her with more questions than answers.

♡°♡°°♡♡°°♡°♡°♡°♡°♡°♡°♡°♡°♡°

Its been a week since she moved to London. A week since she's been living with the Knights as a Knight herself. And until now the only two people she has officially met were Allen and Farina. She has been spending her past days with Harry and Harden getting to know both kids better. And when thier at school she's just with Farina most times or inside her room not leaving anywhere.

She hasn't seen the sight of Caden after that day and she would've thought she wasn't staying with them if it weren't for Farina speaking about her every now and then.

Jordan is NEVER at home. Meaning that he's always either trashing a club or just spends most days at some hotel. She saw him again like twice in the same state, half naked, drunk as ever, and either wet or bare foot showing up at the middle of the night when she's outside in the balcony.

Mr.Kight, Elijah's father, was home the next day of the conference as Elijah wanted, but never showed up again at the mansion. Jasmine is starting to think that he doesn't even live with them.

Nany Mary? She, like the rest, still haven't met. She was set to leave everyday and return while Jasmine was in her room or with the kids. Never asked about her or even came and had a meal with them for once. Jasmine asked Allen about her a couple of times and he always apologizes saying "she's tired from her tea gathering" or that "her shopping drained all her energy." And he'd always promise her that she'll greet her the first thing next morning but leaves the house without anything.

The whole mansion is empty most times. Its only Farina and Jasmine and the rest of the Servants.

Even Elijah spends most his time at the office. And when he's home he locks himself up in that library of his.

This whole week felt so long to her that she felt like a prisoner in some kind of huge empty place.

She blanked out of her book for seconds as she stared at Harry who was playing football in the garden. He seemed kind of lonely trying to shoot balls onto the goals all by himself. He was only seven years old as she recalls but seemed to play so comfortably with the ball.

"Would you like some company?" She shouted at the little kid but barely seemed to hear her.

Jasmine placed her Agatha Christie book on the side before heading to the kid.

Even with how young he his she still feels like that wall she senses between her and the other Knights is also present with this kid.

Jasmine stood infront of Harry and smiled widely.

"What do you want?" He said with a boring tone.

"Well.. I'd like to play with you." She replied with a playful one.

He scoffed a little before answering

"You think this is a game?." He looked at her.

She just raised her eyebrows in response not knowing what to say.

"I'm practicing." He added.

"Then let me practice with you." She followed.

He looked at her for seconds trying to decide whether he should allow her or not.

"Com'on dude. I'm familiar with this." She laughed a little.

The kids is so stubborn.

"Don't call me 'dude' with that annoying accent of yours. And go stand by the goal." He said a little bit annoyed.

Jasmine just laughed his words of while rolling her eyes. If there is one thing she learned this week, then it's to just ignore half the sentences they say to have a piece full mind.

They played for a while with her struggling to keep up with where he shoots the ball and him just making small comments about how she sucks every now and then.

"Harry, I'm tired can we have a break." Jasmine said while trying to catch her breath from running behind the ball every few minutes.

"You can stop whenever you want I have to keep practicing." Harry added with a hint of weariness in between.

"You look tiered sweetheart. Plus you did great today you can rest for a while then come finish." Jasmine said with some worry.

It felt like he was a little too serious with this.

"I can do better. And dad always says resting leads to quitting, and quitters never win." Said the little kid with a firm tone.

Jasmine was silent for some moments.

She didn't know what to say exactly to change that thought.

Why would Allen say such words to a 7 year old?!.

"If you keep this up your energy will drain and you just do worse not better." She started with a soft voice.

She walked up to him with a small smile on her face.

He looked like he wasn't buying what she said.

"I was on the swimming team when I was young, I liked it so much that I'd stay extra time after practice. Even though it was tough to hold my breath for a long time I thought that if I trained my self on repeat then I'd do better."

Jasmine smiled such a bitter smile with a specific memory that passed by.

"But you know when you body is in pain sometimes it reacts by it self to help you, so I thought that if I tie my leg with with the metal at the end then I'd have no choice but to stay down until I broke my own record." Jasmine looked at Harry as she swallowed. The more she thinks about it the more she realizes how it was so hard to try and please her father. Even now its nearly impossible.

"I wanted to prove to myself that I can do better than Lily that was my Dad's favorite."

"Who's Lily?" Harry said looking curious.

"My older sister." Jasmine said as she pushed the feeling of longing within her.

"My Dad is always saying 'your better than this' or 'you capable of more' everytime I achieved something, so I thought that if I beat his favorite then I'd be at that 'better' he always talks about. So I did that reckless move and I ended up getting stifled by the water, 20 minutes later I wake up outside of the pool begging air to enter my lungs as I was at the edge of death. Turns out the coach forgot his phone beside the pool and I was lucky enough to be noticed by him." Jasmine looked at Harry with a smile.

He seemed a little calm now. And even though he was too young to understand what she just told him fully, the look in his eyes told Jasmine that he got what she wanted to give.

"Your young and full of energy Harry, and that is an advantage only if you don't pressure it alright? You did great today, and that's enough for you to think, don't add more thoughts thinking you could always do better because that will only make you feel weak." Jasmine said slowly to help him catch the idea.

This kid was too young to feel such pale and pain.

"But if you smile and tell your self you did better and your proudly happy of the fulfillment you did in the day you'd notice how strong you get. So don't be harsh with yourself and instead be great full for the little things. Okay?" She said with such a sweet smile.

Harry nodded his head.

"Here, why don't you come and I'll make you THE BEST banana smoothie." Jasmine said after she stood up.

"You know how to make smoothies?" The kid's face lit up at her words and he smiled so brightly.

Jasmine shook her head proudly.

"Uhmmmm. And I even have a secret recipe that will have you begging for more." She added.

"Okay okay let's go I'm thirsty." Harry shouted, pulling her from her hands inside.

Jasmine was laughing at his actions and how his mood completely changed after offering such a small thing. She couldn't help but wonder if thier mom ever cooks for them. He seemed so shocked that she can make something as simple as smoothies. Maybe being in the kitchen just wasn't Farina's thing.

Jasmine spent the rest of the day with Harry in the kitchen making smoothies and trying to clean after thier mess, then hearing him speak about his classmates and his school crush and how he rules his class.

Turns out under all that sarcasm and wierd words he is actually a normal sweet 7 year old who just needed the right words and some patience to open up.

"Whats all the fuss about?" Elijah's voice caught both Harry and Jasmine's attention.

"I'm telling Jay all about School!!" Harry yelled from behind the counter.

Both Elijah and Jasmine looked at Harry with the same smile, shocked yet amused at him calling her Jay.

"Are you two friends now?" He said as he stepped inside and headed towards them.

"Yes!" Harry said giggling a little, which made Jasmine smile at how cute he looked.

Elijah sat down beside Jasmine and smiled at her for seconds before looking back at Harry.

"So what were you telling her?" Elijah said.

Harry looked a little annoyed as he sat straightly.

"Something im not telling you." He finished by sticking his tongue out.

Jasmine laughed at his action.

"Is this how you treat your uncle after the gift he got you from Manchester?" Elijah said with a little threat hoping to scare Harry a little.

"You didn't even get me the right one!! I asked for the Manchester City logo and jacket but you got me the wrong team!!" Harry said sounding so angry at the mistake his uncle made.

"Well its not my fault I'm not into football." Elijah brushed it off.

"No, but its your fault for not caring enough to get the fight one." Jasmine added wanting to join the conversation.

Harry laughed and Elijah looked a little disappointed.

"Yous supposed to help me not stab me in the back like this." He said with a scoff.

Jasmine bit her lower lip stopping her smile. She always fails to not get amused by how he completely changes when he's around Harry and Harden. Its like something literally lights up within him.

"I'm supposed to say whats right." She finally said and Elijah just rolled his eyes with a small smile at the corner of his lips.

"I like you more than Steph. I'm glad Uncle got married to you and not her."

Harry's words caught them off guard. Elijah looked down at the kid not knowing what to say and Jasmine just watched him drink his smoothie and leave the kitchen.

She opened her mouth to speak but he was much faster.

"We're going to Madrid tomorrow. You should get some rest, I'll tell Madam Grey to pack your things for the trip." He said standing up. But her voice stopped him.

"Whose Steph?" Jasmine said as she looked at him.

Elijah was silent for seconds trying to choose his words.

"My Ex fiance."

"Why didn't you tell me you were engaged before?" Jasmine said with a low voice not wanting anyone to eavdrop on them.

"Because its not important." He calmly said.

Jasmine scoffed at his words.

"Just like how it wasn't Important telling me you have a sister!!" She tried her best to not sound loud but the anger was clear in her tone.

"Half sister." he said correcting her.

"It doesn't matter. You should've told me or atleast wrote it in that note you gave me." She said sounding a bit disturbed.

"It didn't matter. She wasn't supposed to show up suddenly uninvited, and you weren't supposed to meet this early." He said.

Rolling her eyes, a sight escaped her.

"Elijah, you can't just not tell me things and then blame it on the fact that I wasn't supposed to know!!" Jasmine said.

Losing the control she had over her voice, Elijah looked at her and realized that she was angry.

"You said we need trust to build this relationship, how am I supposed to trust you if you don't tell me the whole truth?! How am I supposed to respond to you not telling me such simple things thinking its not important, when clearly, IT IS!!" She finished looking so pissed off.

All the wonder that she was holding for a week just turned into anger at him.

The fact that he seemed so calm not realizing that what he did was wrong just triggered her even more.

Elijah was silent, he didn't know what to say to help calm the anger.

And choosing to not say anything was worng because it just fired her every second.

"Say something!!" She shouted at him.

"Say what?I don't have anything to say." He said with a cold tone.

His voice was a frosty exhale and it didn't calm her one bit.

"Tell me about Stephanie King, I think I have the right to know now that I'm in her place." Jasmine said trying to trigger him a little, which she did.

Elijah looked at her with a wierd look in his eyes.

"I don't have time. We have to leave early tomorrow, we need to rest-"

"Elijah you can't run away from my questions like this. I need to know, i thought I knew something about you, but now I feel like eveything you told me isn't what it is." Jasmine said.

"No thats not true." Elijah said.

"YES IT IS!! Everything I read off that book wasn't helpful on bit. I can't understand the way you people think, I only know them by names and I've met none of them. AND your not even around to help, you said we do this together but I'm doing this by myself!!" Jasmine snapped at him.

Elijah licked both his lips before speaking carefully trying to fix it. "Look I'm sorry, its just that the days I spent in Manchester left me with a lot of 'homework' at the company."

Jasmine tried not to smile at the way he said homework trying to mock her like last time.

"And I was trying to get ready for the honeymoon. That's why I've been busy. I'm sorry if you had to go through this alone. I'll try my best to be around and help you, although I can't promise anything." He said trying to calm her anger down. And surprisingly he did.

"See. It wasn't that hard telling me whats going on." Jasmine said sounding a little cool.

Elijah looked at her slightly confused not knowing what she exactly ment.

"We need to talk to understand each other. YOU need to talk so I can understand you. You might know most things about me but I barely know any about you." Jasmine tried to explain.

"You need-"

Both Jasmine and Elijah looked behind them at the sudden sound of a person behind them.

Elijah's face completely changed.

"Elijah, Jasmine, Hey." Iden's voice appeared.

Jasmine looked a little confused looking back and forth between Elijah and his father but still managed to answer.

"Hey Mr.Knight." she greeted with a smile.

"Please call me Iden." He sweetly said.

Elijah was about to speak but the young woman that suddenly appeared behind his father stopped him.

Elijah watched her as she grabbed outer his father in such an intimate way and placed a kiss at the cornerof his father's lips.

He looked back at him with such a disappointed look. He could see the lack of understanding in Jasmine's face with the corner of his eyes as she saw that weird sight.

The little woman seemed like she was barely in her mid twenties.

"Don't you think its a little early to shed out your skin?" Elijah said with a disturbed tone.

"Your relationship with Jay isn't even built for you to show that ugly side of yours." He lastly added.
