While they were both on their way to the classroom for their first class for the day, Van noticed that Ersel was wearing a serious facial expression and looking to be deep in thought. This made Van feel anxious although he had seen it multiple times before. He just could not seem to get used to seeing Ersel wearing such a serious facial expression because the latter’s normal self was someone who looked pure, innocent, and cheerful.
I wonder what’s on Ersel’s mind right now. Van wondered while watching Ersel as both of them walked side by side. Should I ask him about it now? Hmmm...Okay, fine. I’ll ask him about it, but if he doesn’t want to talk about it, I won’t force him to.
“Hey, Ersel,” Van called.
Ersel did not respond to Van’s call as if the latter was not even there.
“Ersel,” Van called again, but Ersel still did not respond. “Ersel!” Van called again in a louder voice than before, which finally caught Ersel’s attention.
