Sympathy. That's all the principal could manage to feel for the young woman that stood before him.
The detective stood off to the side of the girl, her eyes switching between the girl and the principal as she explained details of the investigation as well as possible physical reactions he could expect from her if there were to be an altercation. When the topic of why Rayne wore her mask and hood she simply stood up and walked over to the windows, closing the curtains.
He was ashamed to admit but he had been expecting her to attack. Not caring if the detective was present or not. But soon realising what she was doing, his expectations brought him immediate embarrassment when she had removed the hood and pulled the material of the mask below her chin.
"Well, that seems to be everything, you'll need to walk around with this note for a bit so that you don't run into any more issues." Mr Michael said smiling gently
The girl nodded, her now exposed blue-black curls bouncing about. She then turned to the detective and held out her fist. Her grey eyes had a glint of mischief bouncing around in them as she waited for the detective's fist to meet hers.
She smiled down gently at the young girl before pulling her close in a tight embrace. Rayne's body froze for a second before she hesitantly raised her arms and wrapped them around the older woman's lean frame.
"I'll see you around Isosha, try not to get arrested cause you know they won't be calling me to come and get you." she teases smiling, mischievously.
"Yeah, yeah just get yourself out of here there's some other crazy out there that you need to go apprehend."
The older woman smiles in response, wrinkles appearing around her chocolate brown eyes, the only sign of how old she was. She lifted her head and shook hands with the principal before walking back to her car and taking off, driving further and further away from the campus.
("Looks like you're on your own now Princess.")
"Shut up."
"Is something wrong Miss Sinn?"
Her head snapped up at Mr Michael's voice. She shook her head gently before turning away from the door.
"So, where do I need to go from here?"
Before the man could respond a deep, smooth voice rang loudly through the foyer.
"Mr Michael! Your favourite student is here!"
The man sighed heavily before turning towards the sound of the boisterous voice. Despite the calm look on the man's face, you could tell he was aggravated at the new presence.
"Mr Girode, how many times do I need to remind you that screaming in the foyer is unnecessary?"
"As many times as it takes you before you keel over and kiss your ass goodbye sir." He responded smirking before his eyes landed on the girl behind him.
Her grey almond-shaped eyes contrasted beautifully against her black hair. Her black shirt extended to a mask that covered the bottom half of her face ending just under her eyes matching with her baggy pants and black combat boots. Her relaxed posture would lead you to believe she was unaware of her surrounding, but if you looked closer you could see she was tensed, ready to lash out.
"Hi there," he smirks slipping past the principal walking closer to the mysterious girl. "I'm Sebastian, a pleasure to meet you beautiful." he held his hand out waiting for her to shake his hand.
She stood still for a moment raising an eyebrow studying the boy. He looked to be eighteen, nineteen at the oldest. He was a bit taller than she was standing at maybe around six foot one, a playful energy swimming around his black eyes. His dark hair hung lazily against the top of his head ending just above his brow, teasing smirk never wavering from his plump lips as he waited for her to introduce herself.
"Rayne." her hand cautiously reached out and grasped his in a firm grip.
His smirk turned into a cheeky smile as he grasped her hand and took notice of the scar that began on her wrist and snaked up her forearm before yanking the girl towards himself catching her in a hug. She expected her body to jerk, lash out in surprise. But to her surprise, she remained still. Feeling almost safe in the embrace.
"Mr Girode, as pleased as I am that you are so welcoming to our new student I'm going to have to ask you to let go of her."
"Ah you worry too much sir, not like I'm going to make out with her in front of you." the boy said smirking back at the principal.
"It's not for her sake. I know you saw the occurrence that happened in the foyer." He said narrowing his eyebrows in warning.
"True, but the bitch lunged at her, she had it coming." he waved his free hand as if dismissing the whole situation "I have no reason to fear that this pretty little fiend will hurt me."
The principal pinched the pressure point between his eyes trying to calm himself down. Glancing away from the grinning boy he turned towards the girl trapped under his arm silently apologizing. She nodded not seeming all that bothered by being so close to someone who was a stranger.
"Miss Sinn, in response to your earlier question you will need to go to your lessons according to your schedule." he motioned to the piece of paper she had in her grasp. "I'm sure that you should find most of your classes with ease after a few days, but in the meantime, I could escort you to your first class."
"Why don't I give her a tour? I'm sure you have a billion and one things to do." Sebastian spoke up.
"Because I don't trust you to just do that Mr Girode." He said with a straight face.
Rayne chuckled and looked up at her captor tapping on his chest.
"Don't worry about it, I'll see you around later though?" her voice was gentle, deeper than the typical female but still attractive to listen to.
He smiled down at her before lifting his arm off her and nodded before saluting her and the principal before wandering off in another direction just as the bell rang.
