23.) Kidnapping

I turn to look behind me for the third time, I swear I hear someone else walking behind me, but there's never anyone there no matter how quickly I turn around. I pull my phone out of my purse and dial Katsukis number, he's supposed to be meeting up with some friends and I don't want to bother him, but I'm freaked out and could use the comfort of his voice. It rings several times, but he doesn't answer. I jump when a potted plant in front of a café is knocked over by an unseen force and quickly call Kirishima instead.

"Hello?"

"Hey, sorry I know you're busy and all with your friends, I'm just a little freaked out, I swear I'm being followed, I don't know what to do." My voice is barely above a whisper so I'm not sure if he hears me at first over the sounds of others from UA talking in the background until his response.

"Silence, possible code 2." The entire room goes quite immediately "Where are you?"

"I'm about three block from the station near work about to head home, taking my usual route."

"That's good, Bakubro it's L/N, I have her approximate location." I hear quick movements and the shuffling of the phone before his voice comes over it.

"Baby, don't do anything out of the-"

"Whose this?" The voice comes from no-where, I can't see them, but I certainly feel the tight grip they have on my mouth right now. Katsukis voice sounds threatening as the voice seemingly ignores him despite asking the question and whispers into my ear. "Don't make a move beautiful, hate for my friend up on the roof to hit you with her knives, even big strong heroes like your boss would bleed out in moments if she wants them too. It's been awhile since the boss let her off her leash, so she's just itching to kill someone." I feel a kiss plant on my cheek before the deep voice goes back to the phone call.

"DynaMight! I didn't expect you'd be the one she'd call. I'm not cleared to give you details, the boss will give you a call when he's ready." The unseen person hangs up the phone and lifts me to my feet, pulling me into the nearby alley, a few passerby's finally realize I didn't just stop walking and are looking on with varied emotions on their faces, some pulling out there phones to make calls, others yelling for a hero to come. My heart is racing and all I can think about is what Katsuki must be feeling. He said he was coming, he's at Deku's place with the others I think it's supposed to be about a 15 minute drive from here, knowing him though he'll be in this location within 5, but that's still too long. None of that matters though when I'm tossed into a trunk within seconds, my phone no longer with me. I take a few breaths and try to think about what's happening and what I need to do. The person who grabbed me knew it was Katsuki on the phone, that's easy enough to figure out though, they seem to know about our work relationship, though maybe not that we are together. In interest of my own safety I decide keeping that info to myself is probably a good plan. They know my schedule and movements if someone was waiting on the roof and they had a car ready to go, they likely wanted to grab me before I caught on and made any calls, they didn't take into consideration that spending so much time with someone whose constantly observing their surroundings would have rubbed off on me. I'm not sure how that person's quirk works, but they aren't the best at hiding themselves.

The car finally comes to a stop and the engine turns off, I estimate that I've been in this trunk for about 40 minutes. When the trunk opens a tall man with a large build stands over me looking at me with interest. "Hope the ride wasn't too uncomfortable." He says with a smile on his face, he was the voice, so he can be seen. "No use in resisting, we know you're just some quirkless American girl, but you went to that fancy school so I'm willing to bet you're smart enough to know a lost cause when you see one." He holds his hand out to help me out of the trunk. "The boss will be here soon, let's get you in and settled before that happens." I take his hand and try to climb out of the trunk without anyone being able to see up my skirt. When I get a look around we're at an old farmhouse surrounded by nothing for miles, I don't have the stamina to run anywhere for help. Another guy stands propped against the side of the car playing some kind of game on his phone. He's not the kind of person you would take any special notice of, maybe 5'10" lean with black hair. Is this who was on the roof? No, he said that was a woman. I follow them both into the house, they offer me an opportunity to use the bathroom, ask if I want something to drink, you would think I was a neighbor here for a visit rather than the victim of a kidnapping. After sitting with the two guys in a room filled with folding chairs the front door opens again, a girl around my age comes skipping in humming to herself, when she goes to sit next to me a deep voice speaks up from behind. "Not there Toga, I know how you can get." She pouts and sits a few seats away from me as the man who spoke crouches down in front of me, his hair is dark with skin covered in scars and piercings, but the thing that stands out most are his eyes. "Hello Miss L/N" he says giving me a smile that isn't entirely sane, a shiver runs down my spine as I realize I'd been taken by the Anti Hero Society.

"Aren't you a lot prettier than the pictures I've seen coming in from the reports." As he speaks to me I stare at his face, the family resemblance is unshakable. So many complain he never looked much like Endeavor, had he they may have believed his claims a lot faster than they did. I never thought Mercury looked much like their father either, but they do have a mom, I'm sure that's where the discrepancy is. No matter how you cut it though those eyes are all the same. "Let's see how smart you are. Tell me what you know and why you're here." When I look again whatever feral insane aspect was there a moment ago has gone. "You're Dabi, I don't know your brother well so this has something to do with DynaMight. You haven't made a move in regards to him in a few years, I assumed he was deemed worthy by your standards. So either I was wrong and he just happened to be lower on your radar or this is another recruitment attempt like the one back in High School. Though I'm sure you already know he won't be joining you." He nods at me. "Oh, he's going to help with this particular job, and he's going to do it with a smile on his face. It's his fault we're in the little bind were in, least he can do is set it right." I shake my head "And what makes you so certain he'll cooperate?" His smile turns sinister "Oh come now, there are rumors everywhere. He loves you. Why else would I have made sure to send a top notch team to retrieve you?" I look at him with a cold glance "Rumors aren't fact." He narrows his eyes at me "No they aren't, though considering the way he lost it two days ago when you were nearly hit by that car driven by a certain fucking idiot lizard I keep telling to give up being behind the wheel, I'm pretty sure they are true." So they have been watching, I was afraid of that. "And just how long have you been watching us?" He waves me off uncaring "Three days was more than enough. We could only watch you in Tokyo since I don't go to Musutafu for personal reasons and I didn't trust the idiots to do the job."

There was a pounding at the front door that made me jump, Touya just rolled his eyes and stood straight. "Come on in." When the door opened I was more than surprised to see Mercury. "Dammit Touya, just what do you think you're doing?" Dabi smiles at his little brother and motions for him to have a seat. "Did you tell your little buddy where to find us?" The pair just look at one another not saying a word when Dabi speaks again. "How is it you keep finding us all the time anyway little Shoto? No matter where I go you figure it out." Mercury lets out a little chuckle. "Easy enough, I know what you look for in a hide-out. You send mom letters from the towns of your hideouts, this one was the closest to Tokyo so here I am." The girl named Toga gets to her feet and is nearly screaming "Dabi, we have to abandon all our hideouts, we can't just let some hero know where we are all the time." Dabi just shakes his head and motions for the girl to take her seat. No if Mercury were going to cause any trouble for them he would have done so by now. "You promised my friend you would call him when you were settled, so make the call before he loses it and starts blasting every house in the area until he finds this one." That answers that question, he didn't tell Katsuki about the location. The plain looking guy from before hands Dabi my purse without looking away from his game, Dabi hands it to me "Go ahead and call the hero then." I pull my phone out and call his number only for him to pick up immediately, he's been waiting.

"Who the fuck is this? Where is she. I'll kill you for this."

"Hey, it's me."

"Am I on speaker phone?"

"No, but I do have a lot of eyes on me right now and no instructions on what to say."

"Put it on speaker, please." I do as he instructed and as I sit it down Dabi smiles "Hello again DynaMight."

"You fucking psycho, what the hell is this? After I hadn't dealt with you or your little goons for half a year I thought we were done with this bullshit, if not for your brother and having other things to do I would have hunted you down long ago."

"I almost miss the way you yell at me when you're angry Bakugo."

"Don't fucking call me by my name extra crispy. She better look as ok as she sounds, I swear if she's hurt when I fucking see you I will blast you and your whole ass team to bits."

"That's not very Plus Ultra of you Kacchan."

"Dammit Todoroki, I knew something was up when you just disappeared like that. Are you in on this? I thought we were friends, but you're helping your brother kidnap my fucking girlfriend."

"SOOOOOO you ARE a couple. How cute, good for you Bakugo. She's being treated like royalty, I have no plans to hurt her, so long as you help me out with one little thing then I swear she'll be right back. I'll send her with Shoto. You can trust him, he wasn't in on it. He just happens to know how to find me apparently and made the right deductions that I did this."

"That right? Icy Hot Bastard."

"Really Kacchan with the old names? I'd never take party to kidnap. I just happen to keep a few lose tabs on Touya. Someone on the scene mentioned a guy who appeared out of nowhere holding onto her before taking her away and I know he has someone with a camouflage quirk so I came to check it out."

"What makes you think I'll do as you ask?"

"Because I'm not asking you to do anything too awful and I have the woman you love, fastest way to get her back is to do as I ask. Shoto may try to protect her, but he's still only one man and my flames are still hotter than his and I still don't care if I die."

"Fine, what do you want."

"I need you to get copies of a few files for me from the Heroes Safety Commission Office."
