25.) Three Years Later

A loud knock makes me jump, a smile spreading on my face as I look waiting for the door to open, no one moves to answer or says a word. The handle turns and the door flies open with a loud bang, Katsuki looking around the room until his eyes fall on me. He closes his eyes for just a moment and takes a quick breath entering and moving in on Dabi quickly grabbing him at the shirt around the collar, his subordinates watching but not moving. "You have gone too fucking far this time Dabi. I thought we had a slight understanding with one another now that you're not out just hurting and killing people anymore." Dabi smirks at him and Mercury makes his way over lazily, "I told you he'd be pissed." Dabi looks at his brother rolling his eyes. "This isn't pissed, this is annoyed. She's fine hero, not a scratch on her. Even made sure she was nice and comfy and gave her words of comfort that everything was gonna be just fine." Katsuki sucks his teeth pushing Dabi away from him before pulling me up into a tight hug holding me for a moment then looking me over. He kisses my forehead and levels his eyes to mine. "You ok Teddy Bear?" I nod at him with a reassuring smile, once he seems satisfied he throws down a stack of papers. "Here's the shit you wanted. Whatever you have happening moving forward leave us the fuck out of it, I will not be as nice if you so much as even look at her the wrong way ever again, understand me?" Dabi smiles at him lazily. "I can leave your Teddy Bear out of things, just give me your word that you'll take my call and come with no questions asked." I can see a literal vein pop up in his neck as he tries to calm himself, sweat dripping from him just dying to fight. "And just why in the hell would I do that?" Dabi smiles at him with knowing eyes. "Because Bakugo, if it weren't for that bullshit three years ago on the roof this matter would be settled already. I walked away like you asked. You still you owe me one. I knew I'd be back on this someday and I'm ready to cash in." Katsuki lifts his fist and turns to punch Mercury who stops him just in front of his face. "Don't fucking speak to me you damn traitor." He puts his arm around me and we walk out, his Camry sitting in front of the house.

I sit next to him in silence as he drives grinding his teeth and occasionally hitting the steering wheel. When we pull up in front of his apartment complex I don't even argue with him about how I'd planned to go home that night to get plenty of rest, I just get out of the car and follow him inside. He goes into the kitchen and puts on a tea kettle before stripping down on his way to the bathroom taking a fast shower, the kettle whistling just as he comes out with a towel wrapped low on his hips. "Baby you can grab a shower if you want, I'm going to let this steep for 10 minutes. I nod heading into the bathroom and showering allowing the hot water to relax my body, my mind still wondering what it is that happened three years ago that Katsuki just quickly changed his mind and agreed to be available to Dabi. I step out of the shower remembering I don't have my overnight bag and wrap a towel around myself as I move to Katsukis room and find a large shirt in the drawer pulling it over myself before I walk back out to the kitchen with him. He sits down a cup of tea in front of me and sips his own, I take note of the coloring and smell and pick up my own cup of his calm the fuck down blend sipping it with closed eyes. "Teddy Bear, I should tell you what's happening. Not only as my girlfriend but my PR rep." I take a deep breath trying to prepare myself for whatever needs to be said. "Three years ago I got a call from Deku, No one knew where All Might had gone and we both knew his health was in decline so we went looking for him. We were searching the area for him and I decided a higher vantage point may be to my benefit. I went to a rooftop nearby to see what I could and try to listen to the streets below me. I kept searching different roofs knowing how he would often go up to them as well doing all I could to find him. And I did. He was running a fever and had become delirious. This was still before the world knew he was dying mind you so I was trying to get him out of there as discreetly as possible.

"I heard arguing from the alley below us and this prompted All Might to become convinced that he was fighting villains, he got loud and our presence became known. One of the guys you saw today and most likely one of the ones who snatched you, he made it up to us in a flash, his quirk allows him to teleport himself and he's a trained fighter. He got into my face about what I was doing up there, I was in civilian clothes since I was trying to keep a low profile, his eyes landed on All Might and he started to laugh. Not long after Dabi and about 7 others were surrounding us. He had Hawks in his grasp, pretty well beaten too. I didn't ask what that was about, I was just focused on All Might. Some of the others from Hawks agency including Tsukuyomi had found them, that's what the fighting was. Hawks agency was outnumbered by the antihero society not to mentioned out matched with Dabi there. People don't really realize just how formidable he can be unless they fight him, but he and I had crossed paths enough that I knew damn well that he could land me in the hospital if we went for blows. The Anti Hero Society was fairly new, I was still questioning everything about him, but it was the first time he showed me he could be reasoned with. He could have won that fight, killed Hawks if that was the objective, defeated Tsukuyomi and the others no problem. But I asked him not to, I explained how All Might was ill and I needed to get him out of there. That I didn't need a fight nearby bringing cameras and bystanders. He even agreed to send off some of his guys to cause a fuss in the opposite direction of where I needed to go. All I had to do was owe him a favor in the future. I thought about saying no, but it would allow me to save Hawks and get All Might home. I also told myself I would take him down well before he had a chance to cash in, so I agreed. Two years later we went at one another so hard I had to spend two weeks in a medically induced coma. When I woke up he had already been broken out of the hospital prison by the others. I've seen him twice now since that fight and we didn't fight either time. I meant it when I said I thought I could trust that he isn't causing so much harm that he needed to be actively chased after. Now I'm wondering if I made the right call."

I look at the typically confident man in front of me, his head down and fist on the kitchen counter a mix of worry and anger and realize I've never seen him this way. I reach my hands across the counter and rest them on his fist and he leans forward placing his face onto my hands and begins to sob. "For what it's worth Katsuki, you made the best call you could. He spoke to me while I was there, he's intelligent and seems to have a clear goal in mind, though I have no idea what that is. He seemed a little crazy to me at first but now that I've gotten away and I'm hearing all this I think maybe it's more that he's obsessive about the things he plans to accomplish. I get the feeling he would kill anyone, even himself if it meant it would further his cause. I'm also sorry that I caused you the trouble I did today." He chuckles and lifts our hands wiping his face with his own still holding onto mine. "Dumbass. You did nothing wrong." I smile brightly at him as he looks at me realizing what he's said. "You finally called me a dumbass, coming from you that's a real compliment." His cheeks flush red in embarrassment. "Shut up, no it's not. I'm sorry Teddy Bear." I let go of his hands and walk to the other side of the counter with him hugging him tight. "No it is. You only say it to the people you feel like won't leave you." He hugs me even tighter and kisses my lips. "I know you wanted to go home tonight, but I really just need you here, you being taken like that. It scared me." I give him a big smile and place my hands on either side of his face. "I know, did you see me putting up a fuss? As long as we make it to work on time tomorrow I don't see a problem." He smirks at me and I already know what he's thinking. "I don't just need you close to me for comfort, I got pretty sweaty today." I bite my lip pulling his shirt over my head and he growls out at me grabbing my tits. "Dammit I never get sick of seeing you naked."
