Power Rules All...

(A/N: I'm writing this on my phone so if there are any grammatical errors I'll fix them when I get home so just point some out if you see any and I'll most likely drop another chapter later this afternoon. Thanks for enjoying the series so far, I'll try not to disappoint ;).)

After stomping that damned Ghouls head in I finally made it back to the house and began coming up with a new route to take around the city, but most of them were either too far away or they were in the same general area as my last route. Looks like I'm going to have to head a ways away from home base tomorrow. I folded up the map and stored it in one of the drawers of a desk I had put in the library and got up to stretch my stiff body. I walked out of the room and into the hall where I heard water running. I looked at a clock and noticed it was only eight in the morning, so I was rather surprised that Emily was even awake considering she normally gets up around noon.

I paid the thought no attention and went to my room so I could potentially get some more sleep considering I had literally nothing to do unless I wanted to just walk around town and possibly get killed by some random Ghouls. I released a content sigh as I face planted into my soft and plush bed. My body hadn't completely returned to normal but after the incident with Nick I now looked like a normal person instead of a starved horse. I began to drift off into a nice, comfortable sleep when I heard a knock on my door. I groaned and called out but no one answered. After a minute of waiting in silence a small thud sounded outside of the door, making me sit up and listen closely.

The door swung open to reveal two men in grey suits with metal suitcases. The man on the right had long, grey hair that clung to his old and weathered face like seaweed while the man on the left had black hair that was styled in an undercut while wearing a pair of sunglasses. The two men stayed silent as they activated their Quinque and rushed me. The old man had a whip like Quinque while the man on the left had a small sword like Quinque. I dodged an attempt to bind my legs and ducked under a swipe before vaulting toward the door.

"Don't resist you bastard...you need to die to pay for your sins!" The man with the sword charged me and assaulted me with a flurry of swipes, thrusts, and even punches as he tried his best to finish me off. I felt a dull pain reach up to my eyes and the world slowed down enough to where I could easily maneuver around the furious man and plan ahead of his attacks. I dodged a thrust and tripped him before I was forced to back away because of the whip wielder. This was getting annoying pretty fast, but I needed to find a way to end this and start my little trip faster than I originally planned...

I grabbed the whip out of the air and yanked the old man forward, causing him to collide other the sword wielder. The whip user was incapacitated for now and the sword user had already recovered and began to charge me. I bat his sword to the side with my palm and buried my fist into his stomach, making him cough up blood as he slammed into the wall at the back of the hall. I ran to Emily's room and began to search for her, but I couldn't find her. I searched around the house and still couldn't find her, so I went outside.

The house was surrounded by cars with at least thirty plus people each wielding a Quinque spread out around the house. A middle aged man with dark brown hair and a neatly trimmed beard was outside of the circle formed by the Quinque wielders, and he had Emily in his grasp with a gun pointed to her head. "Hahahaha! You've got no where to run you bastard, just give up and die!" He yelled.

I could see the fear in Emily's eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks, but no one gave a damn. The only thing they saw was a monster that needed to die, not a living thing that wanted to live a normal life. I felt a familiar, intense pain in my back as two long, tentacle-like appendages sprouted from my back, with the left one being a pure white with black veins pulsing and wriggling around inside of it and the right was jet black with white veins. The tips of the appendages were sharp like a sword and scale like armor began to slowly cover the two tentacles. I felt like I was going insane the longer I let this thing grow, but I knew it would be necessary in order to win this fight. These guys looked like battle hardened veterans...

The man in an all black suit with a plague doctor mask and his black hair that billowed in a nonexistent wind was sitting on top of a building as he watched a boy with a rinkaku kagune get enveloped with a black mist that soon gravitated toward him. The most formed a black cloak that had frayed ends, long sleeves, a hood that covered his face, and then a black skull mask formed over his face from the black mist. The man looked at Ryu and raised his brow in surprise. He watched as Ryu began to slaughter each and every CCG soldier, starting with the man holding a one-eyed blonde haired Ghoul, something that intrigued the man even more. He knew that the girl was special when he contacted Ryu, but he never knew she was this special...

I felt my sanity slipping away as I killed those pesky CCG. I read that they were merciless when it came to Ghoul extermination, but this is too much for only two Ghouls. They must've had some kind of Intel, or maybe they knew I had escaped from that lab. It didn't matter anyways, as they were all going to die by my hands. I could feel my bloodlust rising as I let out a chuckle while piercing a CCG through the chest. I blocked another strike with my forearm before caving the mana chest in with a powerful kick. I felt beyond powerful right now, and I felt like I could kill everything that stood in my way...

I continued to laugh like a maniac as I moved to kill the last person, but a familiar figure stepped in front of me with their arms out wide. Emily stood between me and the last soldier, begging me to stop killing people. It was only then that I snapped back to my senses and I felt my kagune dissipate. The strange cloak and mask that formed around me began to fade as well, along with my strength. I fell to my knees and gasped for breath while sweat rolled off of my body and drenched my clothes. I looked up and saw that it wasn't a CCG that Emily was protecting, but a young child that looked to be around nine years old...I had almost killed an innocent child...?

My vision turned black and a cool breeze passed under me before I fell unconscious. I found myself in an endless expanse of...nothing, just pure black for as far as I could see. I heard a whisper that echoed around, making it hard for me to determine where it came from. A sudden tap on my shoulder made me whip around and I saw a small girl that looked no older than ten with strange pink hair and energetic green eyes. She had an amused expression on her face as she said "Well, you're my new partner..." her eyes changed into that of a Ghouls as she pounced and said "Then let's get to know each other and be friends!"

I felt my own power course through my body as I dodged her pounce but gained a scratch on my leg for my efforts. I dodged, blocked, and rolled away from her endless assault as she taunted me and even tried to engage in casual conversation. "Hey, hey! You aren't dying on me are you? C'mon come at me some more!" She yelled as she slashed my stomach with her bare hands. I was covered in wounds, blood, and sweat. The fight felt like it had gone on for days as I desperately tried to evade this psychopathic child, but it looks like I have no choice but to attack her...

My wounds began to regenerate at an alarming rate as two scaled tentacle-like appendages sprouted from my back. I sprung forward and smashed into the girls petite frame but, despite the strength I put into my attack, she was standing with her arms crossed to block my attack, her crazy smile and predatory feeling doubling in size as she laughed in glee. No matter what I tried to do I was always pushed back on to the defensive as the child began to pick up the pace a bit. Two blue-pink wings sprouted from her shoulder area, indicating that she's a ukaku type Ghoul, yet she seemed like she had an infinite amount of stamina, not the very small pool of stamina that ukaku types have...

My questions were answered as four scaled tentacles that were the same color as her other kagune sprouted from her back. She barraged me with needles made from her ukaku kagune while also attacking me with her rinkaku kagune, a deadly combo if I must say. A black mist began to swarm around me, forming the same cloak and mask from when I fought the CCG, filling me with a seemingly infinite amount of power. Our battle was at a stalemate with neither side gaining the advantage nor losing it. I felt a tugging sensation as it felt like my very conscious was being sucked away. The girl saw this and suddenly stopped before saying "Hmph, you did good welp. Know that the next time you come here it will be a living hell for you..." her serious expression faded as it turned into a smile that gave off a strong predatory vibe, making me shudder.

My eyes fluttered open and I saw a handsome man with long black hair and dark eyes in a neat black suit and red tie. He looked down at me and had a small smile as he said "Ah, you're awake. Don't worry, she's fine. I am the one who told you to take her to Tokyo safely after all..." before turning his head back to a small circular window. I noticed that we weren't in a car, nor a house...this guy dragged me onto a plane while I was unconscious...?

"Wait, so we're on a plane that's heading to Tokyo, right...?" I whispered into the mans ear. He nodded his head and said "Quite right Ryu Takao, were heading toward the 20th district of Tokyo like I mentioned earlier..." he nudged my side slightly while motioning behind me with his eyes. I followed his gaze and saw two CCG soldiers talking to each other quietly while they passed their gazes over the others passengers. So these guys were even stationed on planes...makes sense. I noticed that the plane we were on had three seats on each side for each row instead of the usual two that I had read about. Emily was quietly sleeping to my right as the man on my left continued to stare down at the clouds below us. That didn't last long as he turned his head and whispered "Oh right, I haven't told you my name have I?" I shook my head and he quietly sighed before continuing.

"My name is Yami Matsumoto...pleasure to meet you, Ryu..."
