Ch. 4

Naruko stared at the boy standing a few feet in front of her with a small smile on her face. Circled around them was the rest of her class, the excitement to watch the upcoming spar was easily seen on their faces.

The boy across from her was non other then the last uchiha, sasuke. His dark eyes stared at her with an obviously unimpressed look. His face was borderline stone, like he had never smiled a day in his life, like it usually was.

It was clear to Naruko that he didn't see her as a worthy opponent, as a threat. She honestly couldn't blame him for that either.

She was admittedly at least two inches smaller then him and her body wasn't nearly as 'toned' as he was but she was still a very fit and active child. Her shoulder length blond hair and blue eyes, along with her small smile didn't exactly say 'fear me'.

Between the two kids was their home room teacher Iruka, who had that kind smile on his face like always when in the presence of his students.

"Are you both ready?" He asked kindly, hiding his slight anxiety behind a calm and polite tone as his eyes drifted towards the villages resident jinchuriki.

Having heard of her physical prowess from the hokage himself, he was understandably worried about the well being of her opponent, but the hokage had order him to evaluate the girls fighting prowess like any other student so he would.

"Yes sensei." Naruko answered calmly, across from her, sasuke nodded with a small grunt as he readied himself in his family's taijutsu style while Naruko just stood there with her hands calmly resting by her sides.

"Very well." Iruka commented before raising his hand, stepping back until he was out of the soaring circle." Begin!" He called out as he swiped his hand down.

Sasuke acted first.

He dashed forward and threw a left hook directly towards narukos face but the girl easily tilted her head back, dodging it along with the quick right hook that sasuke sent soon after.

The blond brought her left arm up and blocked the uchihas sudden roundhouse kick and gripped his ankle before shoving him backwards.

Sasuke stumbled a bit before catching himself and instead of charging in once more, he took a moment to study his opponent.

She just stood there calmly, her hands once more resting at her sides and that annoying smile still stuck on her whiskered face. Her blue eyes seemed to sparkle with amusement, as if she were silently mocking him.

'You're far to weak little brother'

Sasuke growled and shook his head as itachis voice echoed throughout his mind and he decided to taunt the blond across from him.

"What's wrong? Why aren't you attacking me?" He asked in what sounded like an annoyed tone. Naruko hummed softly before answering.

"I'd rather not hurt you." Naruko admitted softly, but to sasuke it sounded as if she were mocking him.

"Cowered!" Sasuke grunted out before he dashed towards her with a flurry of punches and kicks.

Iruka stood to the side and watched as the girl blocked, dodged or redirected the uchihas attacks. Her movement was quick and clean as if she'd done this sort of thing before, which would be impossible.

There was no info on the girl ever getting into any fights with anyone really, the only altercation he or the hokage knew about was her little 'I'm the kyubi' show she put on when dealing with ami and her little posse.

'Could this be what hokage-Sama was talking about?' He wondered.' He said her speed and physical abilities were completely off the char- I see..' he thought to himself as he watched the blond redirect one of sasukes punches and send a gentle palm strike to his stomach, sending the boy skidding back a few feet with a grunt.

'It's pure speed. She can easily see sasukes attacks coming and is easily able to redirect or completely dodge the boys attacks. Amazing..' he thought in wonder.

"You're not taking me seriously!" Sasuke shouted out.

"Of course I'm not." Naruko replied calmly as she tilted her head to one side, a sudden predatory look entered her eyes as a small grin made its way into her face, showing off her top canine teeth." You're far to slow to cause me any trouble-" Sasuke growled at the comment."- but if you want me to get serious then so be it!" She chuckled out.

Irukas eyes widened in sudden horror. He went to lunge forward to stop the match." Naruko-!"

CRACK!

The blond vanished, the ground where she once stood had cratered! She appeared in front of the utterly surprised sasuke with her right fist drawn back, a grin still etched onto her face as she threw her fist forward.

BOOM!

A cloud of dust erupted around the two kids and irukas heart stopped. He, along with the rest of the class stared wide eyed at the dust cloud and watched with batted breaths as the dust slowly cleared and settled.

Naruko stood there, her right arm extended forward with her fist resting right next to sasukes bleeding left ear. The boys eyes were wide open and filled with fear, his body was tensed and he looked like a stone statue.

Naruko grunted, the predatory look on her face was gone and her calm smile and kind eyes were there once more as she slowly lowered her arm back down to her side.

" using nothing but pure speed, I could kill you faster then you could blink, instead I merely ruptured your left eardrum and directed the rest of my force downwards towards the ground." She explained calmly and sasuke slowly turned his head to look at her, their eyes meeting.

"I don't care who you are or what clan you come from." Naruko began, her tone completely serious despite the rather nice look on her face." If you ever call me a cowered again... I'll finish what your brother started-"

"Naruko!" Iruka shouted, sending the girl a warning look.

The blond looked at him for a moment, seemingly studying the man before she took her hand off sasukes shoulder and turned her back to the boy.

" I forfeit." She called out before she walked away. The silent students spread apart, creating a small walkway for the blond as she stepped out of the sparing ring and began to head away from the academy building.

Iruka sighed and called the match in sasukes favor before he walked over to the shell shocked boy who's ear was still bleeding.

"Sasuke." He called out softly while ignoring the mutterings of the rest of the students around them." Let's get you to the hospital so they can get your ear fixed alright?" His tone was calm and soothing, hoping to at the very least calm the obviously frightened boy.

Sasuke looked up at him and nodded softly.

"The rest of you." Iruka spoke up, looking at the rest of the kids." Head back to the classroom and mizuki will substitute for a bit." He ordered and the kids quickly ran off towards the academy while still muttering and gossiping to one another.

                                             ***

Naruko sat atop the fourths stone head and looked down over the village before her. Her shoulders slumped a bit as she let out a small groan.

Usually she would better control her emotions but that damned uchiha had struck a nerve within her. She could brush off a lot of insults, people calling her a monster or a demon didn't affect her in the slightest but that jerk calling her a cowered?!!

She muttered a small curse under her breath. The nerve!

It had only been two weeks since she joined the academy and so far things had been going okay. She had firmly established that ' don't mess with me' personality when she showed up ami and defended Sakura and her friend ino. Granted it didn't really give people any reason to try and be her friend but that was totally fine with her. The only thing she wanted to do was focus on her studies and become a genin.

But there was some things she just couldn't stand, such as bullies and apparently being called a cowered.

But despite all that she had been doing rather well in her schooling. She was learning all sorts of new things in the academy, she was learning how to read and write better, how to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. She was also learning a bunch of new thing about her villages history, like how the first hokage and madara came together to create the village hidden in the leaves and all in all she was firmly enjoying herself.

And the fact that Iruka-sensei and mizuki-sensei wasn't outwardly showing any sort of distrust or hatred towards her was also a plus. She honestly expected them to try to actively sabotage her but they haven't and she was grateful for that.

She receded from her thoughts and let out a small sigh as she looked out over the village.

' tomorrow I'll apologize to sasuke, I lost my cool and he didn't deserve that.' She concluded with a small nod of her head.

Until tomorrow came she decided she was gonna spend the rest of the day relaxing... or training.. most likely training..
