Fighting an old enemy (Part 3)

Nicola loosened his tails a little, moved by the words of the beast. This moment of carelessness was used by the beast to counterattack. A huge, fanged mouth opened trying to swallow Nicola at once.

He could feel the snake's acidic and poisonous breath enveloping his face, so the four daggers in his hands moved so fast like a natural reaction, flowing in a tweezing motion and dug into the snake's skull instantly killing it.

The sound emitted by the attack of the four daggers at the same time was not pretty, almost like a funeral requiem, the last note of a bass and heavy piano. The monster's body was still struggling with some spasms in the water but it was no longer alive.

Nicola cleared his heart of that vengeance that he had waited so long and could now move on. Some injuries caused by the snake's bites and strikes were quickly healed with the power of the sloth's sin. Nicola looked at the body on the floor in its last spasms and waited to stop moving.

Then, he used one of the beetles around to call Kin and Gin from their safe location while he opened the snake's body to grab its magic core. Gin was still crying when she arrived at the fight site, a lot of black blood spread in the water surrounding Nicola and the giant reptile's body. "Master, I had thought the worst" She said with a sad look and ran to hug Nicola.

"Don't worry, little one, I am very strong, but I didn't expect this snake to have failed to level up enough after so long." He comforted her by stroking her head. After a while she released him and handed over the dimensional artifact, which he then placed on another lock of hair.
