Starting experiment number 06

The snake woman woke up stunned as she was no longer in the improvised nest she had created to hatch the eggs. Normal snake eggs should have hatched by now, but since they were descendants of a magical silver-level beast, they would be doomed to have even longer incubation times, delaying Tyris' task.

"Hello master, what do I owe to the pleasure of your honor?" The snake whispered in a sleepy tone, its forked tongue protruded from its mouth and the snakes that formed its hair also woke up hissing around.

"We have some changes in plans, I will need to borrow the eggs for a while." Nicola said pointing to the eggs she kept.

"But they have not yet hatched master! I have not completed my mission!" The serpent woman awoke from her drowsiness. She thought Nicola would go back on her word when she took her eggs.

"Don't be afraid Tyris, I won't be returning with my word, I just need to borrow them for a few days, after which they will return to you. Be free to be my guest, you can do whatever you want during that time." Nicola told her, assuring her that her intention was made clear. Tyris could not deny, even if he returned with her word she could not complain, after all she was a slave and by the power of the contract she would obey her master even if she did not want to.

The snake woman nodded before asking permission and leaving the laboratory. Nicola watched her drag the big scaly tail out of the room as she nodded. "She also seems to me to be a good person. But I must be careful, I don't know her background." Nicola knew that to be sold publicly she was considered a criminal under the law of the Empire and did not fully trust her. He just didn't want to intrude on her privacy and directly ask the cause of her arrest, when the right time came she would speak herself, they would have plenty of time for that.

Nicola hoped that these eggs would still take about a year to hatch. After all, he had taken these eggs out of his mother's corpse, they were not fully ripened to be expelled. What's more, as said before, the descendants of a silver-level beast would take time to develop.

"Start experiment number 06, Kiiro. Bring the special incubation tanks." Nicola asked and saw five smaller tanks appear on pedestals studded with magic cores. Each one of these tanks was being powered by a big core of a single different element, fire, water, earth, air and lightning. Several mana crystals and cores constantly supplied mana to them. The inside of the tanks that were filled with a viscous liquid that had recently acquired the hue of the element they represented.

"Injecting balor blood into the specimens." A syringe appeared in Nicola's hand as he applied the balor blood into the eggs.

He could see the snake fetuses inside the eggs swinging, fighting infection with demonic blood, the eggs themselves moving with the movement of the snakes inside them. "Send specimens to the intubation tanks." Each of the eggs was placed in a container. Like the crow egg that was being demonized, Nicola did the same with these snake eggs.

In addition to providing unlimited mana to the eggs for a certain period of time through the mana cores, after all he had noticed that the conflict between the fetus and the demonic blood only existed because of the lack of enough energy and nutrients to survive, the viscous liquids they supplied all the nutrients while the nuclei provided the energy.

"Prediction for the hatching of the crow egg?" He asked the air, but the fairy promptly answered.

"About thirty days, master." She said. "Do you want something else?"

"Help me get these plants out." Nicola told AI that he promptly stored the plant species in the space artifact and transported them out of the tower.
