Chapter 5 - Sachio-chan loves Leaves

Lunch time came, and almost everyone in school are in the cafeteria to eat up their meals. But for others, including Kiyoshi, preferred to eat on the rooftop as an alternative to the noisy and busy cafeteria. The reasons are varied though, but for Kiyoshi, he wanted some alone time in order to refresh his mind after that hard exam. So for lunch, he had pork cutlet sandwiches with mayonnaise and cheese, a bento box of vegetables, and a bottle of mineral water. It was a light and nutritious meal, even for an orphan like Kiyoshi. He himself also prepared and make those light meals for school and sometimes for work or on the go. Ans as he chew on his delicious sandwiches, Kiyoshi was listening to his favorite music downloaded in his smartphone as the sun shines with a few clouds. Meanwhile, Sachio is at the other side of the rooftop eating her light lunch while looking down at the trees and being a bit close to the tall, metal handrails. She was quiet and more to the calmer side. At this time, they are only two people on that rooftop, even though there are many students. Upon finishing his meal, Kiyoshi open his water bottle and drink some water. After that, he wiped his mouth with his hand and closed the bottle. He then paused the music his phone was playing, stand up, and decided to go back inside, only to spot Sachio having her quiet, lunch time. Their school uniforms really matches by color.

"Sachio-chan!" Kiyoshi positively called her. Upon being called and recognized that voice, Sachio turned around and got surprised mildly, holding her bottle of water firmly.

"Kiyoshi-kun," she responded back with a bit of shyness. Approaching towards her, Kiyoshi placed his hands in his back and asked her how is she.

"Oh, um, I am fine, thank you," Sachio answered back.

"Are you looking at leaves of trees again," replied Kiyoshi in response. "Just like you always do?"

"Yes , I was," Sachio responded back. It was more of a romance time, but Sachio was too shy to confess her feelings to Kiyoshi.

"So, when are you going to the Literature Club?" Sachio changed the topic calmly like the sea.

"Oh, this afternoon," responded Kiyoshi back. "I really liked literature very much. For me, it's a world of my future fantasies."

"Oh, I see," Sachio responded back, "sorry about that. I...I forgot why do you liked it very much."

"It's okay, that's just nothing," Kiyoshi happily responded back.

Later that day, after class, Kiyoshi went to his club, the Literature Club, at the second floor, opening the door and greeting his friends. His friends Atsushi was the leader of this club, and his members comprised of students who lived books and literature very much, including Kiyoshi himself. Despite being an extrovert, at non-club times, Kiyoshi can be an introvert, making him an ambivert.

"Hi there, Kiyoshi," his friends greeted him back upon seeing him coming. They are just discussing a new book about crime thriller. But Kiyoshi wasn't upset about starting a discussion without him; and second, crime thriller wasn't Kiyoshi's type; his type are classical that depicts in the countryside and psychological thriller. Upon sitting on a chair next to Senichi, Kiyoshi signals Atsushi to continue on. Atsushi then continued his discussion about the said new book, telling about one of the characters who was a serial killer who buries bodies after he had killed them, often the weapons are pistols and a knife. As the other students are listening to him with their open books of the same title, Kiyoshi was reading the pages of the chapter he was in, line by line. Then, as he progresses through, he got a clear picture of the man who had killed the student, the one his friends had mentioned earlier. But that's not the place of killing, but rather, the weapons used and the manner of killing.

"What the...? It's... It's similar!" he reasoned in his mind. With this in mind, Kiyoshi slammed both of his fists against the table, catching his friends' attentions quickly.

"What is it, Kiyoshi?" Atsushi asked him in response.

"I think that the main character had the same weapons as the suspected serial killer who had killed that student," Kiyoshi made a hypothesis, "as well as the manner of killing."

"Well, it maybe," replied Atsushi in response, "but, according to the book, the killer's appearance was far from the one we had talked about, so that means the style of murder was different." That statement caused Kiyoshi to calm himself down, but a bit satisfied with his hypothesis. They continued on until around after 4:00 p.m. Now Kiyoshi was getting more interested to crime thriller.
