Don't Judge Me

Nathan may be an overly serious person with no sense of self-preservation but he was also a very kind one. Not just anyone would allow someone that showed up on their doorstep inside and feed them treats even though there were clear signs they were busy.

He had taken time out of his day to humor Sierra and she didn't know why. It was yet another mystery added onto the overall enigma of her sort-of neighbor.

"Hey, Nathan…why did you let me in?" she asked before she could stop herself.

He seemed surprised by the question. "Uh, because you were here? Was I not supposed to?"

"No, but I was surprised. You seemed busy and you really had no reason to let me in at all, let alone feed me so I'm confused. Sorry. I shouldn't have said anything. I always make things worse."

A wry smile appeared on his face. "Am I that terrible in your eyes?"
