Stakeout

Sierra grabbed onto his arm urgently. "Don't act suspicious now! They might be more likely to make a move if they know you're onto them!"

"If you didn't want me to act suspicious, why did you bring it up in the first place instead of coming over normally to deter them? I'm not a good actor, Sierra," Nathan sighed heavily.

Oh. Now she felt stupid. She should have realized that. "Sorry."

"Whatever. Let's get our grocery shopping done and get out of here. What do you still need?"

"I'm only here for cake mix, heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and rainbow candy belts. It's for a baking project I'm working on tomorrow. I hope they turn out as cute as the pictures from the recipe but even if they don't, I know you'll still eat them because of the peppermint shortbread fiasco."

Despite his stress at being followed, Nathan let out a snort. "That's true. I have to hit a lot more than the baking and candy aisles so stick with me, okay?"
