Precognition, Huh?

Ivy Summers was in the middle of speaking to an irate man in German who was trying to request an emergency passport since his had gotten lost while on vacation in the United States when her phone buzzed in her pocket. She hadn't imagined herself capable of working in a place as busy as the Belgian Embassy in Washington D.C. back when her telepathy was a problem but here she was. 

When Carson got offered a job at the Goddard Space Flight Center straight out of college, she had wondered about what her job options would be as a linguist but that ended up not being a problem with how close their apartment in Maryland was to D.C., where her specialty was in high demand. He was currently working full time as a computer engineer and simultaneously working on his master's degree by taking night classes because he needed one to qualify as an astronaut candidate.
