Zeph and Sauren first read about mission details then they looked towards Boss to explain it to them.

"See, A great Serpent is spotted in the periphery of the mountain of Gephyr mountains. Viewers stated that it was heavily injured and quite violent. It disappeared near Cold wind valley and due to the proximity of its location to Gephyr City, several warriors are dispatched to kill that beast.

It will be at most at heart level but because it is heavily injured, warriors like yourselves can also go. We are already short on warriors due to the security of this exhibition thus we have to rely on youngsters. It is an emergency, so you have to hurry up and leave right now."

Sauren and Zeph nodded and immediately left for the valley in the nearby mountains.

'You will not find that Beast in that mountain, most likely it has gone far away as beasts never relax near big human settlements. But it is best for both of you to not attend the last day of Banquet, it is best if the youth is kept clean from political ideas as last day is going to dirty war between political factions.' sighed Elven as he gazed towards rapidly disappearing figures of the duo in the night.

They ran for almost 2 hours to reach the area of Cold wind valley. On the way, they didn't found anyone in the way but they didn't suspect anything as maybe they were late than other warriors who are already there.

"So this is cold wind valley, famous for cold breeze throughout the year"

"Yes, Serpent was last seen here"

"Hey, do you know about dangerous myths regarding this valley? Apparently, many years before Naaga god...."

"Focus on mission Sauren, Serpent must have transformed itself into miniature size to hide for recuperation from its injury, other warriors must be searching throughout the valley. We should also find some way to locate it."

" Maybe Serpent changed itself to human and currently hiding in the city," said Sauren as he remembered that in various novels on earth it tends to happen as such monster turns out to be a beautiful lady.

"Into Human shape, interesting, But I don't think so. Beasts abhor Humanity so why would they want to change their physical appearance as humans, moreover what is merit in our human structure which is not as tough durable, and strong as their bodies. However, For concealment purposes, it can be done."

"So we should look into the city "

"No Cold wind valley is not so close to city moreover with the gathering of so many powerful warriors serpent will think twice before pulling up the deception.

Ummm...Let's find clues on the base of its appearance maybe it would help us to find the location at where it is recuperating"

"It is reported that it was probably of ice elemental type and blue scales over its massive body. A burning wound could be seen on its neck from where scales were burnt off and flesh was roasted. Also, it was reported that it was violently thrashing everything in its way to run towards this valley ."

"Ice-type therefore, cold wind valley. The wound suggests it was hurt by some fire beast or energy, so it confirms that it knew beforehand about the valley and specifically heading towards it.

Let's split up and find some coldest areas in the valley and meet here in two hours with or without findings."

"Ok I will go towards the lake, you go towards another side "

In flash, Zeph disappeared into the thick forest of the valley.

"It's not fair I also want super speed "yelled Sauren as he sprinted towards Lake in the middle of Valley.

Almost after one and half hours Zeph was still looking for a possible hiding location. He was surprised at the marvel of nature here. The coldness was almost bone freezing but still, water is in liquid form. There is some kind of mysterious energy only felt by living things concluded Zeph from his observations.

Suddenly he heard the rustling of leaves, he looked towards the source to find a snake emerging from the bush. He was instantly on guard, it was the same species of snake he had found in the whole valley. White-colored snakes of varying sizes, these animal species are native to the valley. They are extremely fast moreover their mouth have paralyzing ice venom instead of normal poisoning venom. Meaning one bite can cause your arm to fall into near absolute zero temperature which will lead to the whole destruction of nerves, vessels, and tissues of the arm.

This particular snake was over 2 meters long curled on the bush and was staring at Zeph. Zeph raised his sword slowly and waited for it to strike. In the blink of an eye white shadow moved towards him which was slapped by the black blur of katana. The snake was left in two halves.

'It was most probably 100 th snake 'thought Zeph.

He noticed that Serpent must have some relations with the population of snakes in this valley because basically serpent evolves from snakes. The serpent is species which have draconic blood and bones in them thus sometimes called Inferior Dragons.

Zeph returned to a predetermined spot on time and was surprised to find Sauren already there. He thought He had to wait for Sauren after reaching there but he was there before him.

Sauren was currently roasting snake over bonfire which was burning due to his expenditure of Energy. Zeph sat down beside him and picked up a roasted snake to taste the meat.

"So anything?"Sauren initiated.

"Nothing,...How are you early?"

"Haha, surprised.....I was here one hour ago. Those damn snakes ....."

"What happened?"Zeph's interest was piqued.

"I was not able to investigate lake at all. Snakes were like swarms in its boundary. I burned some of them, then like poked hornet nest all of them came at me in swarms. No matter how many died they just keep coming from Lake.

In the end, I was turning low on energy reserves so I have to run away pathetically. The snakes totally unbothered by the massacre of their kin didn't chase me even moved back to the lake once I went far away."

"So the lake is the nest of those snakes."

After the conversation, both of them focused on food. It was close to daytime now and they had no leads yet. They decided to take a nap turn by turn till morning and then continue with their search.
