While all that was happening, Edward was in the wagon with his mother. The wagon decided to make a detour around Hayford Castle to avoid any spies. Edward was not ready to be dragged to the Targaryen's shit this early, so he took some precautions.

Edward was still giving his mother the cold shoulder. He was not going to talk to her for some time. And since Edward did not want such a situation to happen again, Edward had to do this. He was ready to abandon her if she really became an obstacle in his way.

Call him cold-blooded all you want. But in front of his goal and glorious life, he was ready to do that. Just imagine that he would be the king of the seven kingdoms and his sons after him. For such a future, He would do anything.

Tywin, himself, was doing all this to make his grandson the king. His grandson would take of the House Lannister after Tywin was not there to protect them. So why would Edward not do more for his future?

Meanwhile, Inside the carriage, Cassana had an absent look on her face. Cassana knew she had done something that she, as his mother, should not have done, but what could she do? She was afraid that her son's life would be in danger for refusing the prince's offer. And she did what every mother would have done in her place. But all she got was her son's angry eyes. He even refused to talk to her till now.

Cassana did not know what she could do. It was the first time that her son, Edward, was angry at her. Edward had never done such a thing before. Instead, he would always smile and make a sarcastic comment here and there. She was usually seen by everyone laughing while she was around her son.

The maidservants did not know what had happened back there in the tent. They did not know why their Lady's mood, suddenly, became worse. Their Lady was laughing and enjoying her time just before she went with their young Lord to the prince's tent. The maidservants did not know what to do to cheer their Lady. All they could do, for now, was to accompany her in silence.

The road kept his silence till a week and a half later when they reached the Eyrie. During their journey, they visited all the locations that Edward had wanted to investigate. Though the rest of the road was dull, Edward was able to inspect House Whent, who helped Rhaegar kidnap Lyanna. Edward had sent a word earlier to Lord Arryn that he was coming to the Eyrie with his mother. That was the reason why Lord Arryn waited for them in front of the gate. It had been some time since he saw Steffon and his wife, Cassana.

Of course, Robert would not miss his mother's arrival. He cared about his parents. That was a trait that he exceeded Edward in. But Edward did not care. He would care for his mother in his own way. Didn't he save his mother from her death?

"Welcome to the Eyrie, Lady Cassana. It had been a long time since we saw each other." Said the old Lord Arryn with a calm voice. It was indeed a long time. The last time he had seen Steffon and his wife was when he had visited Storm's End after the War of the Ninepenny Kings.

"It is great to see you again, Lord Arryn." Replied Cassana with a smile on her face, but she was somewhat absent-minded.

"Good to see you too, Robert." Said Cassana after she saw her son. She sighed in relief after seeing Robert and tried to console herself.

"It is great to see you, Lady Baratheon." Said the honorable Eddard Stark while bowing his head to greet her.

"Oh, You must be Eddard Stark, son of Lord Rickard and Lyarra. It is great to see you." Said Cassana while smiling.

"Please, come in, Lady Cassana, you too, Edward. It had been a while, and I heard you were injured. How is your injury now?" Said Jon. He was worried about Edward. He treated him like a son, and Edward was an amazing young man with unique talents. Edward had helped him a lot with his work.

"It is all good now, Lord Arryn. You do not have to worry." Replied Edward with a smile on his face. He would treat everyone who treated him well with care and gratitude. He would even save them if saving them did not affect his goal.

Jon nodded to Edward and took them to the hall to have a seat. After talking for some time and having dinner, they decided to end it for today and retreat to their rooms.

After final thoughts during that night, Edward decided to apologize to his mother and did not make it more difficult for her. The woman was going to lose her husband any time now. Edward was afraid that she was going to collapse after what would happen. His efforts would be all gone by that time because of him. Why did he save her in the first place if he was going to do all this?

The next day in the morning, Edward, for the first time since his meeting with Rhaegar, went to his mother's room and knocked on the door. He heard his mother's voice coming from inside the room.

"Come in." Said Cassana. It seemed her mood got worsened last night as Edward again did not speak to her, even for one word. Cassana thought that Edward would come and apologize for treating her, his mother, like this anytime soon. But Edward did not say a word even after coming to the Eyrie. Instead, he went directly to his room.

Edward opened the room and entered the room. Cassana was surprised to see him. She thought he would give her the cold treatment for a long time since he had not come to visit her the day before. Cassana decided to hold her expression and not show the surprised expression on her face and hear what Edward had to say.

Edward was feeling awkward for the moment, and he was surprised by that. He thought that he would go in and say sorry to her, and that was it. But it turned that Edward cared about Cassana and could only sigh after knowing that. It seemed that he would imprison Cassana and not her leave Storm's End in the future unless she was under his men's protection. He could only do that so that she would not be a weakness with which the other could threaten him.

Edward came close to his mother's bed and bowed his head as much as he could.

"Mother, I wanted to apologize for my childish behavior." Said Edward with an awkward voice. He realized how he was childish in his behavior. That was not how the future king of the seven kingdoms, nor the great commander, should behave.
