Meeting With The Executives (Part-1)

She wasn't wrong… Life was tough and I bet you can imagine how tough, but I endured and today… today is the day…

Sixteen…

I was overjoyed that I was turning sixteen. It was the start of a new semester and I was studying Archeology and Mythology.at the University, ?, in Tokyo. If I'm to be sincere I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but something in me wanted to do this.

*Woohoo, today's the day. Sixteen, I've waited so long for this.*

My brain was awake for hours but my body was just too tired to get up. It was shocking, because I did absolutely nothing the day before to get me tired. Although I did study all the way up to midnight. Don't be so lazy wake the hell up!

"Thompsoon, wake up, oh thompsooon" I heard a whisper

*What now? Who's calling me so early?*

I opened my eyes and my sight was greeted by the face Yuki Ootake-Oikawa, a few inches above me. I felt my eyes would pop clean out, he scared the hell out of me.

"Ahhh. What the hell?" I quickly tried to sit up but my head bumped hard into his and he fell down on his butt. Yuki was bright, a sixteen year old and one of my dorm mates. He's a first year student studying culture and art. He has dreams of becoming an artist, to travel around the world studying other forms of art and culture.

*Thank the gods I'm on the low bunk otherwise that fall would have been extremely painful. Although I would have loved to see his reaction.*

"Oouch" he yelled in pain rubbing hard on the red spot on his forehead. Almost made me want to laugh.

*Why was he so close to my face? Don't tell me*

"What you do that for?" Yuki strained asking softly.

"You startled me that's all"

"Ouch… Hey wait a minute doesn't yours hurt?"

*Why does he look surprised?*

"No, not really"

"Woah, you have got to have a pretty hard head"

"Not really, And so you know that's not a compliment. I just don't think about the pain and soon it will be gone"

"Ahh, I see."

"Hey, what going on?"

I turned and saw the nineteen year old step aside to shut the door. Alexavier Zamora, a foreign exchange student from America, blond, handsome but a bit scrawny looking but boy was he smart, especially with the pair of glasses he had on. A second year student like me, studying robotics.

"I startled him and sort of got head butted, just a little… hehe."

"Sort of? You did head butt me!"

Yuki crossed his legs leaning back on his arms firmly to the floor.

"Well then, mind if I join you down there?" Alex asked softly with a smile closing the gap between us..

"Always." Yuki answered returning the smile.

Alex sat behind Yuki wrapping his hands around Yuki's neck and shoulder, placing his head on his shoulder. Both smiled as he whispered something into Yuki's ear…

Alex and Yuki, have always been more than friends. Since the day they met they completely hit it off…

It was the first day of the semester Alex had gone out to get some supplies at the market not far from school.

On his way, through an alley he saw three boys ganging up on a freshman. Yuki was being ganged up on by his own countrymen. Alex said something about throwing a can at one of the goons, taking the fight to them, helping Yuki up and having the aid to beat them. When he told me, I laughed the hell out. Believe me you would too, he made it sound like he was a superhero. It just sounded so contradictive since I knew Alex was the soft spoken, dull type and Yuki, a bit hyper. Although I do recall there not been any bruises on him but many on Yuki. Since then they did everything together.

*Wait, they're staring at each other now, when did I miss that? They have that look in their eyes.*

Yuki took a hand off the floor and gently placed it on Alex's cheek. Alex drew in and planted his lips to Yuki's.

"Ehhh…"

I didn't expect them to that in front of me. It felt like a trickle of sweat was hanging around the back of my head and cheek. Well, there's a first for everything.

They were a couple, with a strong bond. It didn't bother me, it never did, rather I thought it was kinda cute. Who am I to discriminate?

*I can't believe they dumped these two on me. A foreigner and weirdo. Come to think of it I'm also a foreigner here. Touche… So what did dad leave me?*

My mind was a bit clouded with what dad had left for me. I couldn't wait to 'fund' out… A pun there, did you get it?

*Happy birthday to me.*

"What's the time right now?" I whispered to myself.

I looked to my side to the clock on the wall… 8:23 AM.

"What! It's twenty three past eight" I yelled. "Crap, crap, crap."

*I'm going to be late. I have a meeting with the bank.*

In haste, about getting off the bed my feet got caught up in the sheet and I fell face first to the floor. Thud…. The boys turned their sights to me. I quickly stood up, realizing I was only in boxers and you know… the boys, I quickly grabbed my pants hanging on the rail at the foot of the bed and without hesitation I jumped into them.

"Why are you so giddy?" Yuki asked.

I zipped my pants.

"I've got a meeting in twenty minutes and I can't afford to be late." I grabbed my shirt and threw it on my back. I grabbed my boots, sat on the bed and forced my feet into them.

"Aren't you going to like clean yourself up at least?" Alex asked.

"No time for that."

I grabbed my bag which was beside my bunk and dashed for the door wearing the bag over my shoulder. I gripped the door handle and opened the door. About stepping out Yuki called to me.

"Thompson…?"

"…" I turned.

"Happy birthday"

"Yea dude. Happy birthday." Alex added.

"Thanks you guys."

At least I got someone to wish me.

I stepped out shutting the door.

*Those two were probably gonna continue from where they left off and who knows, maybe even go deeper.*

Yuki and Alex. They both considered me their friend, but I never cared what they saw me as. I never cared what anyone saw me as.

"EXCUSE MEEE…"

I ran frantically through the hallways of the dorm as fast as I could, dashing by students who were already on their way to class.

*If I don't hurry I'm going to be late. And i so don't wanna be*

I jumped out into the dorm's parking lot, rolled when I made contact to the ground—*thank the stars I wasn't in white; dusting myself should suffice*—and dashed aimlessly to my destination. Pretty sure everyone thought I was crazy, people stopped just to look at me run.

*I'm sixteen today huh? What's so fun about being sixteen? We got more responsibilities now.*

I ran down into the subway. Down the stairs I punched my ticket into the slot, ran through the terminal and hopped into the train right before the door closed and the train departed.

"Oh God…"

I held firm to the pole catching my breath. Thank God it's not rush hour otherwise it would have been crowded in here..
