Chapter 20: Feeling uncomfortable

The last few weeks haven't been the best. I've been feeling more tired and I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. The first time I had them I thought I was going into early labor and immediately called the doctor. She told me to come in and informed me that they weren't actual contractions, which I was thankful for.

Doctor Stringer told me that I should probably consider doing the rest of my schooling from home as it would be less strain on me. I decided that this will be my last week at school before I start staying home. Danny and the gang told me that they would start bringing me my assignments and I am so thankful for them.

"I'm so ready to just be at home and not have to walk around these halls anymore," I groan out.

"If you want to start after today we can talk to the office and let them know," Danny says, rubbing my shoulders.

We just finished lunch and we're on our way to our next classes, which I have with Brian and Jerrico. Any class that I have with the others, they decide to be helicopter parents and monitor my every move. I appreciate it, but it's starting to get on my nerves.

Everyone in school knows that I'm pregnant and when people first found out, they did a lot of gossiping and whatnot. They stopped once Claira put them in their place, which surprised me. I think she may still be slightly afraid of me and wanted to warn everyone of my violent tendency. (Eye roll).

"I think I'm gonna go to the office and have my mom pick me up. I just want to go home and lay in bed," I tell him.

"I'll walk with you. I'll catch up with you guys later," he tells everyone.

I told the people in the office that I wasn't feeling well and I called my mom to come and get me. She got here immediately and took me home.

"Do you need anything baby," she asks me as I get settled into bed.

"I'm fine, I just want to sleep," I tell her.

"Okay honey, get some rest. Oh, and don't forget that you have your appointment tomorrow morning," she tells me. She places a kiss on my forehead and leaves me to sleep.

When I wake up, it's five in the afternoon. I get up and carefully head down the stairs, making sure not to trip and fall. I head to the kitchen once I hit the last step and see that the girls are in there, chatting with my mom.

"Hey guys," I say with a yawn.

"Hey, hon. How are you feeling," Ariel asks.

"I'm doing okay. I'm just a bit tired," I tell her.

Beth comes over and hands me my homework assignments.

"Thanks, babes," I say, kissing her on the cheek.

"No problemo," she replies.

I sit at the table and my mom puts a plate of lasagna and garlic bread on the table in front of me. I thank her and immediately dig in.

Once I'm finished, I finally speak. "Not that I don't love you guys, but what are you doing here?"

"We're staying the night so we can go to your appointment with you tomorrow," Ariel tells me.

"I keep forgetting about my appointment. Must be pregnancy brain or whatever," I say.

They all just laugh at me and I get up to go pee. Once I return, I see that Danny has arrived.

"Hey babe," I say, walking over to give him a hug and a kiss.

"Hey, how are you feeling," he asks, returning the hug.

"A little better, I'm still really tired but I'm doing alright," I tell him.

"I'm glad you're feeling a little better," he kisses my forehead and we head to the living room, where the girls and my family are.

It's family game night and I'm excited to just have fun with my friends and family. We play a few different games from Monopoly to Life and have a good time. I soon get tired and head up to go to bed, with Danny and the girls following behind me. We take turns in the bathroom, getting ready to go to sleep.

"Good night baby mama," Beth says, making me laugh.

"Good night everyone," I say.

"Good night," Ariel and Danny say at the same time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're currently in a room at the doctor's waiting for Doctor Stringer to come in.

"How's mama and the babies today," she asks after she gets everything set up.

"I've been a bit uncomfortable and I have had a few Braxton Hicks, but we're doing good," I tell her, rubbing on my stomach.

"If you feel that anything is getting worse, please let me know okay," she tells me.

"Will do," I say.

She puts the jelly on the wand and puts it on my stomach to find the babies.

"OMG! That is so surreal," Beth whispers, staring at the screen in amazement with Ariel nodding in agreement. Danny, Doctor Stringer, and I laugh at them. They are so adorable. I'm sad that I haven't been able to bring them to an appointment until now. Things have just been so hectic and we've had a lot of people wanting to come to appointments. Next, the boys want to come with.

"Okay, I'd like to see you guys again in two weeks. You can schedule an appointment at the front desk. And remember, if anything of concern comes up please call and let us know," Doctor Stringer says.

"Yes ma'am," I tell her. She laughs and tells us to have a great rest of the day.

After scheduling an appointment, we head back to my house. They drop me off and head off to school. It should be about lunchtime when they get there. I decide to go in and work on some assignments so that I can have them turned in before the weekend.

My mom makes sure I'm fed, giving me lunch, snacks, and water.

I love how much my friends and family have taken the time to make sure that I'm being taken care of. I have no idea what I would have done if they weren't there for me, especially Danny.
