Ordinary Day 3

A slow smirk tipped the corner of his lips and his arrogance grated on Stellar's nerves as if he was mocking her lame attempt to rile him up.

"Don't forget to congratulate the couple this time."

Stellar's lips curled downward. His words felt like acid being poured her broken heart courtesy of Beau. "That's so mean of you to say, Holden."

"You're the one who's mean."

"Meee?" Stellar jabbed a finger to her chest.

"Yes, you."

"You're the one who gave me the cold shoulders the entire ride when you found out I'll be at the Spencers' home tonight. And when I said you're jealous, you denied it. Now you're ripping my old wounds open."

Stellar wanted to bolt out of the car as fast as she could. She felt humiliated by the truth in his words that she was on the verge of crying.

Her only consolation from what happened was how she freely spoke what she truly felt. She rarely did that.
