"Gosh. Have you even scored a meeting with his dad yet?" Babes moved closer to Aster, her voice almost a whisper. "It's been years since you met that boy. High time for you to pull the strings, Aster."

"How can I do that when I never saw them in functions with Holden beside them? I can't just walk up to them and say 'Hey, my son is your son's best friend.' That's not how it works, Babes."

"Something tells me you're just holding back because you don't want to upset your son." Babes nodded with a pout on her face.

What she said was true, though. She remembered how Aster would helicopter around her son. Although she was protective of Beau, Aster's level of cradling for Aki was beyond what she could comprehend as a mother herself.

It's as if Aster wanted to hide her son from the world. That was why it wasn't a surprise that she supported Aki's decision into joining the seminary, eternally shunning the only heir to the Kosmos legacy.
