Let's do this!

"Ladies and Gentleman! the last battle for the top 16 will now begin, let us welcome our two trainers!!"

Two spotlights shone on the east and west entrance of the stadium showing two trainers standing on the entrance.

"The trainer on my left is a vigorous trainer that won 7 rounds in the group stage, let us all welcome Max!!"

"The trainer on my right is the undefeated trainer that dominated the D bracket, let us all welcome Ash!"

Max and Ash walked towards the center of the battlefield while the audience cheered both of them.

"Let's go, Max! Let's go, Ash!!" May stood up and cheered them both enthusiastically not caring who will win.

Ash looked at Max that was on the other side of the battlefield and said, "Looks like our fated battle is finally happening, Max."

Max arranged his glasses and replied, "That's right, Ash. I looked up to you when we journeyed together so today I will do my best to surpass you and win the tournament!"

The referee looked at both of them and said, "This will be a 3 on 3 battle, either side can substitute their pokemon at any given time. Let the battle BEGIN!"

"Mightyena, Let's go!" Max took out his Pokeball.

Ash played with his Pokeball and threw it in the air, "Show everyone the brilliance of your magic, come out Alakazam!"

Alakazam appeared and danced on the battlefield raising his spoons in the air.

"Quick Attack!" Max commanded as soon as Alakazam appeared.

Mightyena dashed towards Alakazam at an incredible speed.

"Alakazam, use protect"

A bright purple barrier appeared in front of Alakazam. Migthyena who was dashing towards him slammed at the barrier successfully defending from the attack.

"Follow it up with Trick Room"

Alakazam's eyes brightened and the whole battlefield was engulfed in a purplish aura, Mightyena who just smashed towards the barrier was shaking his head from the damage he received and looked at his surroundings in confusion.

The whole battlefield suddenly became a huge room making Mightyena confused as to where Alakazam was.

Max bit his lips seeing Alakazam taking control of the battle, he wanted Mighthyena to break free from the room but all of the attacks Mightyena released were futile because a new room will appear trapping Mightyena again.

Looking at Max who was starting to panic, Ash said "Max, you have to remember to always keep calm even when you are under a perilous situation. if your moves aren't effective always think outside the box and be creative."

Upon hearing Ash taking his time teaching him during a battle Max felt powerless and wanted to give up.

"Giving up already?" Ash asked seeing Max's expression turning sour.

He then sneered and continued, "Do you think that a few years of training is enough to win a pokemon league? do you think that without experiencing setbacks after setbacks that you can truly stand beside the elites? stop being delusional Max."

Max lowered his head while clenching his fist not answering back, he didn't want to agree with Ash's words but deep inside he knew that he was being delusional thinking that he can compete against the very best he just didn't want to admit it.

"If your resolve is only that high then you're better off quitting. don't think that you can become one of the best with that kind of attitude." Ash didn't hold back and continued talking.

"Shut up! you don't anything about me! you don't know how hard I trained with my pokemons just to reach this stage! who do you think you are to educate me?! you're only a loser who kept on losing every single tournament you entered!" Max restored while glaring at Ash hatefully.

Ash smiled and crossed his arms in front of him, "That certain loser will not only win this tournament but will also defeat every single champion that he will face in the future. because that loser didn't give up, that loser gave it his all to attain power, that loser faced challenge after challenge, defeat after defeat to be where he is right now and that loser will defeat you today."

"Alakazam, finish him off."

Alakazam who was floating above raised his two spoons which shone brightly, he then used Physic and slammed Mightyena on the walls he created until it fainted.

"Mightyena is unable to continue, the winner is Alakazam!"

Max retrieved Mightyena and took out another Pokeball, "Let's go, Gallade."

But as soon as Gallade step on the battlefield Alakazam teleported in front of him and use Mega Punch continuously catching Gallade off guard.

"Gallade use teleport and get out!"

Gallade eyes shone as and was about to use teleport when Alakazam slammed his spoon on Gallade's head and used disable, disabling Gallade's teleport skill.

"Don't play with our enemy and finish him."

Alakazam nodded and shot a hyper beam at Gallade making him faint on the spot.

"Gallade is unable to battle the winner is Alakazam!"

May who was on the audience seat was clenching her fists tightly watching Ash trampling her little brother mercilessly.

"Why are you doing this, Ash?" May murmured and started tearing up.

Dawn and Serena immediately comforted May while Delia was staring at Ash wanting to beat him up on the spot.

"Just you wait until we reach home young man!"

Max stared at his last Pokeball and turned his attention towards Ash, "I don't believe that I can't take down your Alakazam!"

"I don't want to use you but I want to prove to Ash that his ideals are wrong!"

'It's okay, Max. we will defeat Ash together and show him how powerful we are!' A pokemon voice resounded on Max's mind.

Max then closed his eyes and threw the Pokeball on the air, "Let's do this, Jirachi!"
