Chapter 6: Curiosity Killed The Cat

We just got to Summer's house and we're now walking in.
"Alright gu-", Summer goes to say but that was before I took my shoes off.
"Oh thank god!", I practically yell and then I'm stared at from all directions.
"What?! I hate wearing shoes!", I exclaim and walk over to Summer's living room sitting down on the ground.
"Ryan, what are you doing?", Summer asks as I lean up against the couch and sprawling my legs out.
"Taking a nap.", I say like it's the most obvious thing.
"Oh no you don't. You asked if these two could come over so you guys can do your music project.", Summer says and I sigh and get up off the floor.
"Fine but first, Summer do you have anything more comfortable for me to wear?", I ask and she nods and motions for me to follow her.
We get in her room and I close the door behind us.
"Okay, tell me. What happened?", she asks and I play stupid and give her a confused look.
"I have no idea what you mean.", I tell her as she walks over to her dresser.
"Oh so that means I can give you a tshirt to wear instead of a long sleeve.", she says and I gulp.
"N-no a long sleeve will do.", I tell her and she turns and gives me the mom look. Yes I know what the mom look is my parents weren't always like they are
"Ugh! Fine, I'll tell you but not the whole story.", I told her and she nods.
"My parents are upset with me again.", I tell her and she looks at me and gives me a sympathetic look.
"Okay, I understand. Now here.", she says throwing me a hoodie and jammie shorts.
"Th-thanks.", I say looking at the awfully short shorts.
"I'd give you a pair if sweats but mine are all dirty.", she says and I nod.
"Thanks.", I say and walk into her bathroom and change.
After I changed Summer wasn't in her room anymore so I walked out of her room, down the stairs, and into her living room where everyone was at.
"I-I'm back. Sorry it took so long.", I say quietly but loud enough for them to hear.
"Oh hey Rya-", Ember goes to say before she stops and jaw drops open from shock. I give her a confused look and then remember I'm wearing shorts for once in my life. And then I see the cuts and bruises.
"Close your mouth you don't wanna catch bugs.", I tell her and she clears her throat and closes her mouth. I look over to Blake to see him just gawking at me.
"Stop staring! It's making me feel uncomfortable.", I say the last part quietly. When he don't listen both Ember and Summer smack him.
One in the face the other on his head
"Ow. Double whammies have gotta hurt.", I say
"Anyways, let's get to work. It's already 4:30.", I tell them.
"I'm gonna go to the guest room you usually let me use, okay Summer?", I ask and she nods.
After a few minutes we walk into the guest room and I sit down on the floor.
"Okay, I'm gonna ask a question whether you like it or not.", Blake says giving me a pointed look, I nod my head for him to continue.
"I'm gonna ask you this once and please, please tell is the truth we won't tell anyone.", Blake says
"What the hell happened? I've been wanting to ask you that question all day but it didn't seem like a good time.", he says and I sigh and look away from them.
"I don't wanna talk about it.", I say quietly putting my arms and legs inside of the hoodie.
"Bu-", Blake goes to say but Ember smacks him in the head.
"Okay love, you don't have to tell us. It's your choice.", she says sweetly sitting next to me giving me a little side hug.
"Okay, now let's see how good you are at singing and we'll go from there.", Ember says and I nod.

I finish singing and open my eyes to see not only Ember and Blake but also Summer. I see Summer holding her phone up and I glare at her.
"Summer! Did you just record me singing?!", I ask feeling a little angry.
"Maybe.", she says and then I here a ding sound meaning somebody either A.) Wants to record a cat fight or B.) Summer just turned off her phone recorder.
I charge towards herto get her phone from her but I feel a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist as I tried to chase after her.
I try to escape from the person's grasps but it don't work to well then after a while I just stop and relax my body.
"Are you done?", Blake whispers the question in my ear. I gulp and nod my head.
"Good, now I'm gonna let go of you cause I trust you not to try and go after Summer.", he says and let's me go. As soon as he does I get up and run out the bedroom door to find Summer.

(> * _ *<) "Few Hours Later";(
"Well goodnight guys.", I say to everyone. They all say it back to me and I go up to the guest room.
After a what seemed like a few minutes but was actually a few hours I awoke from a nightmare. I jump out of my bed and go down stairs and into the living room.
I found Ember sleeping on the fold out bed from the couch and Blake sleeping on an air matress.
I craql up on to the gold out bed shake Ember awake
"Ember?", I whispered
"Hmm.", she hummed rubbing her eyes..
"What's up Ryan?", she asks
"I had a nightmare. Can I sleep out here with you?", I ask and she nods. I climb up under the blankets and next to her.
"Thanks Ember.", I say to her
"What was the nightmare about?", she asks and I shrug.
"I can't remember I just know it was a nightmare I don't want the nightmare again.", I tell her lying.
"And besides, hasn't anybody told you that curiosity killed the cat?", I ask her yawning and she shrugs
"Get some sleep love.", she says kissing my forehead. I put my head on her chest and cuddle up to her.
"Good night Ember.", I tell her
"Goodnight Love.", she says and I fall asleep
