"Alexis! " Dan called. Alex ran down from her room.
"Yes?" she answered.
"Some guy just walked on the driveway. See what he wants" Dan said and went back to sleep on the couch. Alex looked at the clock. 2 o'clock? She grabbed the baseball bat and walked to the door. As soon as she opened, her eyes widened in confusion.
".. professor?! " she asked. He looked angry.
"Can we talk?" Loki asked. She looked back at Dan who was fast asleep and nodded. She slowly closed the door and walked out. She led Loki down the road.
"Yes tell me. Are you ok?" She asked worriedly.
"I wanted to talk to Dan" Loki said. She blinked.
"why?" She asked confused.
"Because. I don't want him to hurt you" Loki says.
"What? No listen. You can't do anything to him ok? Dan pays for everything. I have to stay with him till college is done. Please. Don't talk to him. It's just a few more years" she reasoned. He blinked.
"What do you care anyway?" She asked softly. Loki looked at her. Even he didn't know.
"I just... do" he said. She blinked and smiled.
"Thank you. But I'll be ok. See you in class professor" she said and bean walking away.
"See you" he mumbled as he watched her go.
-----------Time skip brought to you by Loki's Christmas tree hair-------
"Can I help you?" Alex asked the blue haired girl who was staring at her.
"Sorry it's just. I.. I used to know your dad" she said. Alex's eyes softened.
"Oh. I'm sorry." She said as a lump formed in her throat.
"He used to help our family when my dad died" she said.
"The Andrews?" Alex said recalling.
"Yeah. He was great" the girl said. Alex smiled.
"He was" she said," my name is Alexis Joanna Smith. What's yours?"
"Sarah. Sarah Andrew" she replied.
"So you're in this class too?" She asked as they headed toward the door.
"Yeah I am. Sit by me?"
Alex smiled, "sure"
They opened the door and sat at the last row. Alex talked to the girl. The girl was the same age as her. She too didn't have friends. She was a pretty girl. She had a cute freckled face and blue hair that was done in a braid. She was chubby and adorable in her way of talking. Alexis thought she was the cutest!
The door opened and Loki walked in. The class gasped. He had worn a white shirt and a black vest. His hair was wet. He tousled it back. Alex could swear she hear a girl moan. She herself was enjoying the sight. He dropped a book and bent to pick it up.
"Hot damn" Sarah mumbled. Alex bit back a chuckle. Everyone else was enjoying the view. Why couldn't she?
"Right. Should we begin the class?" He asked. He looked at all the open mouthed girls in confusion. He saw Alex who was smiling. She raised an eyebrow at him while smiling. For a split second he forgot where he was.
He forced himself back to reality and began teaching. Let's jut say that the students payed attention.. but not to the book.

After class Loki was arranging some papers as she was heading out.
"Let's meet up at the cafe today" she told Sarah.
"I would like to but.. I have homework" she said so sadly that Alex felt bad for asking.
"That's ok. We can go some other time" she said. Sarah smiled and left. Alex looked at the professor.
"How are you?" He asked. He had managed to calm his anger. Although he wanted to beat Dan to a pulp.
"I'm great! " she said and walked toward him.
"Does it hurt?" He asked.
"No.. it was a while ago.. the scar looks scary" she said smiling.
"No.. I mean.. does it hurt to have to go through it?" He asked looking right at her. She blinked and looked straight at him.
"Tell me the truth. Does it hurt? " he asked softly.
"More than I can explain" She said softly. Silence. He looked genuinely broken. She sighed.
"It does hurt. But.. I don't mind. I don't focus on the pain. I do my best to focus on the fact that I can finish college and walk away from this life. No one can hurt me then" she said. He nodded as he understood.
"I.. would you come to the cafe with me?" Loki asked, she seemed taken aback. She thought for a full moment before nodding.
"Of course" she said. The bell rang and she bid goodbye.
He sat silently after she went. Her words rang in his mind. More than she could explain. The poor mortal! She did not deserve this.
He couldn't do anything about it either. But he could do one thing. He could try keeping her happy. But why should he care?
