"So... he got hit by a car... and that's why his condition is so bad?" Fury asked. Natasha and Loki nodded and looked over at Dan who looked like he had been dragged through a field of cacti. Nat shrugged. Fury nodded.

"Even though that is a stupid ass excuse. I will accept it" he said and walked away. Loki and Nat exchanged a sly look before heading back. Natasha decided to check on Alex. Loki didn't want to confront her. He had done enough by breaking her heart. And it was his fault that she was in the park anyway. He went toward the living room of stark tower. Natasha walked over to the infirmary. Alex was sitting on the bed. She looked bruised but... peaceful.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Natasha asked. Alex looked up at her and smiled.

"Nat! " she exclaimed and hugged her. Natasha smiled. They sat on the bed.

"You ok kiddo?" Natasha asked. Alex shook her head for a no.

"I don't know what to do now. Who will pay for my college..... Loki... " She sighed. Natasha placed a hand on her shoulder.

"You should talk to him. He is worried sick." Natasha said.

"He doesn't care" Alexis replied as she stood up. "Then talk to Steve and Clint atleast" Natasha said determined to get her to talk to Loki. Alex nodded.

" so she is ok?" Thor asked. Loki nodded.

"Brother you infuriate me. You obviously love her. Why are you intent on pushing her away?" Thor asked angrily. Loki looked at him.

"I couldn't tell her Thor.. she.. deserves better" Loki said. Steve and tony looked on in pity.

"You are a good man. She loves you. Why did you ruin it?! " Thor asked exasperated.

"Because I ruin everything!! " Loki snapped.

"Who said that?! " Thor asked.

"ODIN!" Loki shouted back and then kept silent. "He.. when Alexis was dying I went to beg for my power... he asked why I needed it and I told him... about Alexis. He laughed at me and said that If I truly loved her I would leave her life. Because I would make her life worse." Loki said with a tight smile that couldn't succeed in masking his sadness. Thor looked sad.

".. and if I'm toxic to her.. then I love her enough to...back away." Loki said.

"YOU.. ASS! " a voice cut through. They all spun around and found a furious Alexis.

She was glaring at Loki. He blinked. She walked toward him angrily and picked up a cushion from the couch. She then proceeded to hit him several times with the cushion.

"You stupid, stupid idiot!!!" She exclaimed while hitting him.

"Al...Alexis!!! stop!" He exclaimed as he tried feigning off the attacks till finally the pillow ripped and she stood disheveled. He looked at her and gulped at her angry face.

"I get to choose my own fate! NOT YOU. And if I love you, deal with it. Tell Odin to go to hell!! You will never lie to me again. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?! " she asked. He nodded. Natasha and Steve bit back smiles.

"Kiss already" Tony said softly. Loki looked at him and looked back at Alex who's mouth began to turn up in a smile. He couldn't control himself from smiling either. She grinned at him and chuckled.

"Come here you idiot" she said pulling him in for a kiss.

"Finally! " Tony cheered while Clint and Nat looked happy. Steve turned red as they continued to kiss.

"They won't fondue right now will they? " he whispered to Natasha who grinned back. Steve heaved a sigh of relief when they separated.

"I'm sorry for slapping you" Alexis said softly.

"I deserved it" Loki replied.

"Yeah but not that much" she laughed,"I'll make it up to you?" She smiled.

"How?" He asked.

"Will you go on a proper date with me?" She asked. He blushed.

"Yes I will" he said.

Thor beamed. "Brother you're blushing again! " he said while Alexis laughed.

"No I'm not!' Loki grinned,"its a fever"
