Post Race - Miami

William was ecstatic climbing out of his car. Shaking his fist as he jumped out of his car, he ran over to his team for the 2nd time in 2 weeks to celebrate yet another podium. As he made his way over the cooldown room, he was stopped by a reporter.

"William, do you have a moment?" The reporter asked.

"Sure." He replied.

"So this is your second podium in 2 races, how are you feeling right now?" The reporter asked.

"Right now I'm feeling ecstatic, good results are always a good thing." Was William's answer.

"So, what plans do you have for the next race? Do you have a target position that you want to finish in?"

"In terms of plan, I don't really know what to expect, I hope that I can keep this up for the next few races, but nothing is set in stone yet."

"Thank you for your time." The reporter concluded.

Upon walking into the cooldown room, Charles was the first one to notice him.

"Hey man," He greeted. "Great drive out there."

"Thanks." Hunt replied, taking a sip of water.

He was about to say something else when something a rewind caught his eye. He watched along as Charles pulled up alongside Perez going for a move before Perez locked up, steaming straight off the track.

William winced looking at the screen before stating, "Unlucky man."

A few more replays of the certain portions of the race played through such as William's move up into P3, his collision with Vandoorne, George's pass on Sainz for P4 and the moment Charles crossed the line.

Soon enough, the drivers were called onto the podium and the celebrations started. Charles was the first to hose William down with a bottle of champagne, and the two sprayed each other champagne for a bit before Leclerc turned on Perez. With no one to spray, William opted to search for his team in the crowd and sprinkle them and anyone else in the way with what he had left.

Once the podium celebration was finished, William collected his trophy before heading off the podium. The room that held the team meeting was a long oval table with spots for all the important figures in the team.

"So," The team boss started. [I don't remember giving him a name, but feel free to suggest one.] "Good results from the drivers today. For anyone who fell asleep or forgot to watch the race, Hunt started P7 and finished P3 while George started P9 and finished P4. Does anyone have any thoughts on this race?"

William was the first to speak. "I want to start by congratulating George on the comeback through the grid."

"Thanks man, your drive wasn't that bad either, P7 to a podium." George responded.

"Compliments aside, I think your getting ballsy with the pitstop calls William. Not saying it's a bad thing, but still." Mark said. "The call you made to stay out could have easily gone wrong quickly. If your prediction wasn't correct, you'd have thrown away a high points finish."

William nodded thinking about what his engineer just told him. "Hmm. Sure, I'll try and not make as many gambles on strategy."

"As for you George," Marcus started before pausing. "You know what. I've got no complaints, keep doing what you're doing."

Both William and George were stunned into silence before George broke it. "I'm sorry?"

"You heard me." Marcus said. "I've got no complaints, keep doing what you're doing now and there won't be any issues."

"Alright, let's conclude this here. Our next race is in Imola in 2 weeks. Our team flight is at the end of next week on Friday, there will be spots for all of you if you wish to fly with us. However, if you choose to fly on your own, you may do that as well. Now I believe there is a press conference that you two have to attended, so get going."

The press conference went fairly well, with some drivers getting asked more questions than others. William even got one as well. But given his previous results the question of "do you think you will be on the podium consistently?" had gotten quite old. In fact, it had gotten so old that he answered the question almost on autopilot giving the answer, "I don't know, with results so sudden it's hard to tell when you're just have good pace and form or if the car has genuinely gotten faster with new upgrades as the season progresses. We'll have to wait and see." Other than that he wasn't really asked any questions about his race and mostly sat where he was assigned quietly talking with his teammate.

After the press conference had ended, he had returned to his Airbnb and had decided to fly back to his UK home to drop off his things. With this in mind he started browsing for flights from Miami to the UK. After a roughly 30 minutes of searching, he finally found one for roughly 4 thousand dollars that was taking off tomorrow night. He knew he should start packing now, but firstly a shower was needed. He had just finished an F1 race and he was tired and hot.

Dinner was fish and potatoes and was finished rather quickly. The first thing Hunt did was to pack in his 2 trophies, He hadn't gotten a chance to head home after Baku so he had been carrying his trophy since. After most of everything was packed away, he decided to check his email looking through for anything important. Upon deciding there was nothing of interest, he checked the time to find it was 9:30. He decided to take a walk around the house looking if he had forgotten anything. Deciding that he hadn't left anything he stepped into the bathroom to brush his teeth before heading off to bed.
