In Which The Dark Prince Chooses To Run

[ALANOR]

"I never wanted a mate, so it's nothing new. Besides, the only reason I accepted Unar is because he's the stupid king's son and nothing will help in my quest more than Unar.

"It's a win for me, and I don't care if it's a loss for Unar anyway," Alanor said dismissively, though this time, his tone wasn't as cold as earlier, instead, there was a warmth to it, one that got Heide thinking the young Wynter was slowly giving in to the mate bond.

"Is that really the only reason you chose Unar?" Heide asked and Alanor looked at the high priest, like he was expecting something else. Quickly, Alanor defended his choice.

"I don't care about Unar, he means nothing to me anyway," Alanor responded and Heide let out a scoff. He could see through Alanor's lies, but that didn't matter to Alanor, because a part of him was hoping that this time, Heide didn't ask too much about that.
