"She really did the damage only a mother could, huh?" Ulrike whispered as he looked at the brothers. 

They looked different, like they had been wallowing in hell all this time. The brothers had grown thin, and frail. They were dirty and their stench was saddening. 

The two of them, standing there in their clothes and without the horses they had left with, raised so many questions, questions that no one had the courage to ask, because right now they all were happy that the brothers were back.

"Fuck, they look worse than shit," Aida said, her crooked voice making her sound like she had been in pain all this time. Then again, that was the truth that they had been in. 

For seventy-five years, Heide and Zelina had been the heads of the broken Wynter team's household. They had done their best to make sure that their friends were alive, at least until they found a sense of what they needed to do.
