Armed with only a taser, Sarah's Mother methodically approached the front door. I stood behind her and scanned for any signs of danger or unwanted people.
She creaked the door open slowly and slid the package inside with her foot. It was light, wrapped in brown paper and had some writing on it, "I See You."
I looked into the package before Sarah's Mother opened it. There was nothing suspicious that I could see. It seemed safe.
We all gathered around the package as Sarah's Mother slowly opened it.
She asked us multiple times to back up and the only one that listened was Brute.
That dog was very smart.
As she delicately opened the box, a trigger had been set off and yellow gas quickly filled the room.
Before we could scramble to get away the gas took us all to the ground. My abilities were useless. It all happened way too fast.
As we lay motionless on the ground, men dress in black swarmed the house. As they began to bind the family with rope and me with steel laced cord, Brute had recruited the Momma Possum to engage.
With my abilities disabled due to the steel, Brute took action, "Gentlemen, can't we talk about this?"
The three men in black looked at Brute as if they had seen a ghost. They momentarily stopped their attack.
Before they could grasp the levity of the situation Momma Possum came dashing around the corner, "You're not getting near my babies!"
As she lunged through the air, Brute charged in as well. One of the men snatched me up and took off down the driveway to the waiting van.
The other two weren't so lucky.
Brute clasped on to one of their arms and the Momma Possum punctured holes all over the other man's legs.
Sadly, Brute and Momma Possum fell to the ground incapacitated by the gas and all the men made it to the van in the driveway.
They had succeeded in their mission to capture me.
In the van awake but unable to move I could hear the men talking, "A talking dog? Really?"
The other retorted with, "Talking dog? Yeah, how about a talking possum? That is the insane part."
I attempted to negotiate, "Guys, I can heal those wounds for you. You just gotta get this steel cord off of me and you'll be just fine. I'll go with you wherever you want, I won't fight you."
They ignored my offer, knowing I could stop everything in a single blink of an eye.
They laughed as one of their cell phones rang, "Yes sir. We have the boy. He is unharmed, we, on the other hand, weren't so lucky."
The voice was deep, familiar. I knew the voice but my current state was causing some interference with my normal brain activity, not to mention my abilities.
We will find out soon enough I guess.
"When it's time to fight it's time to fight, the hardest you've ever fought before."
