(Raas´ POV)
As the system notifications ring in my head I saw the aftermath of the carnage that ensued. All the small monsters rained down.
'Looking back, I can´t believe how far I got in only a few months, I think. I don´t have anything to check the time but it already felt like a lifetime ago, when I started out as a small snake scared and alone... till I met Sarah. Thinking of her made me sad, she was the first friend that I made, and apparently, I became her mate or something...'
'Even in my last life I never...' the thought suddenly stopped. 'I can´t remember... why?'
But before I could dwell on it any longer Scorge, the person who helped me tremendously for some reasons unknown to me, spoke, "Ahh~ It has been such a long time since I last saw dead monsters rain from the sky. How nostalgic."
Giving him a wry smile I continued to watch. Even though I killed such a large number of them I only leveled up 3 more times, reaching level 28, but there was still 7/8 left.
"Don´t let your guard down Raas, the fight has only just begun, there is a reason why they are feared so much even with their pitiful strength."
Nodding I saw large chunks of the swarm dive bomb into the sea where they feast on their dead comrades.
The ones feasting on the burned corpses turned crimson red and bulked up significantly. Having their fill they let out a roaring hiss similar to a crocodile´s, instead of the seagull-like chirping. But the most drastic change was that they shoot out small balls of dark red flames out of their beaks.
And that wasn´t all, some of the seagulls that ate the poisoned corpses turned purple and their wings span grew twice the size while having an oily shin on them. The few that died of the poison only fueled my levels further.
"That is the true danger of those monsters, they mutate after eating their fallen kin. Depending on the way they died the other would mutate accordingly. Kill them with fire, they get the ability to set themselves ablaze, kill them with arrows, they can shoot, sharp feathers, kill them with a sword, their body turns hard as steel and sharp as a blade. The list goes on."
"Why did you let me kill them then? shouldn´t you just finish them all at once?"
"Nah, even I can´t find a way to kill so many of them in one hit, and the few that survive will get too strong for me to defend you and kill them at the same time. And have you already forgotten that this is a chance for you to level up?"
"Yes... but I already used up all my mana, and I can't do much more."
"Heh, you still have other ways to kill than your spells Raas."
"Oh!" Like a lightbulb lighting up, I remembered the first time how I power leveled. So, pulling my wings back towards my mouth I plugged out one of the sharp feathers and coated it with my poison.
Holding the feather towards Scorge he looked at me with a raised brow, "You don´t really think I will be the one to fly up and kill them myself do you?"
I tilted my head, "And who will?"
Scorge cracked his neck and took the sharp feather and threw it on the ground, "Time to summon some big guns [Summon: Umbra Clone]"
A magic circle lit up in front of us and the shadows under our feet moved towards the center. A 20-meter tall shadow figure stepped out and kneeled down.
His size alone was imposing even while kneeling he was taller than me while raising my head up. He was pitch black with whisps of black fumes coming out of him and wearing a full black bulky armor. He was so dark that I could barely see more than his outline.
"This lowly one greets his liege." said the giant knight that bearly fit on the boa.
"Yeah yeah, take this and kill all the flying ones. You can use the white feathers of the snake, that is floating around. Oh and don´t let a body behind." Said Scorge.
The summoned monster nodded and picked up the sharp feather from the ground and just vanished in front of my eyes. I looked around and rubbed my eyes with my tail in disbelief.
"The notifications should soon start ringing again." Seeing the smile on his face I almost felt bad for the poor flying bastards. Almost.
(3rd POV)
The Umbra Clone appeared behind one of the mutated seagulls and thurst the feather into it. The force behind it was so strong that it exploded into a fine mist. Continuing doing so he disappeared before the swarm could even react, and appeared behind the next one.
It happened so fast that for Raas it seemed that multiple Umbra Clones were appearing and disappearing, behind the monsters and making them burst into droplets.
Scorge didn´t lie as the bombardment of notifications assaulted him once again. He could see the levels slowly rising.
But even with such an amazing speed the size barely decreased. So opting to change the method he collected all the feathers Raas shot out previously. The feathers turned black in his hands and holding his hand out they circled around him like a ring.
"Go."
*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* ...
The explosion of the sound barrier breaking filled the sky, as the feathers zipped through the swarm like very angry homing missiles. The Feathers didn´t fly straight as they curved and turned without even losing any speed.
The notifications rang even faster and Raas got scared that his system would break.
In a matter of minutes his level jumped up to 35, and half of the flying monsters are already dead.
"If this continues they will all begone in a few hours or so, my summons are trying their best to hold the few that got through but it is still a ton of them that will reach us. Wendy, kill them all without leaving any bodies behind when they do."
With a nod, her body sprouted long roots and vines that covers most of the ship. "It´s finally time to have some fun too. And I swear to Vulca, if this little noodle is getting any faster at leveling up, I am going insane!"
"Aren´t you already insane?" asked Raas, tilting his head.
Wendy only growled at him and out of the vines sprouted flower buds. She waited for a few more seconds so that the birds are within range.
Divebombing down towards the ship the flock didn´t care as the flower buds opened up released dozens of small pallets each, but there were just too many to be stopped.
Clicking her tongue she, howled and a few of the roots shoot through the air and wiped and speared up any monsters near enough. "What´s up with the pathetic amount of exp I am gaining! This sucks!" complained Wendy as the furious swarm got shredded like flying in a wood chipper.
*CRACK*
A loud cracking sounded as a purple rift tore in the middle of the air a little bit off to the side where the two forces clashed. It looked like reality cracked as the rift expanded to hundreds of meters, showing pure black emptiness with small specks of purple.
"This is getting ridiculous..." mumbled Raas as he saw that hundreds of purple glowing eyes opened at the other side of the rift.
"I agree..." said Wendy continuing to defend the ship.
*Whoosh*
Black flames flashed around them as all the birds burned to crisps. "We are getting out of here. This is sooner than anticipated."
Without saying another word he cut his palm and let a few drops of blood drip on the ship.
The ship creaked and groaned as it changed more streamline and longer, looking oddly familiar to a speed boat. With a burst of speed, it took off and jetted away from the battle.
Raas could see giant blobs of eyes and tentacles float out of the rift while shooting some kind of purple rays that utterly disintegrated the swarm, they were so occupied with the new opponents that they completely ignored the jetting ship.
Building-sized rays cut through the ranks of birds leaving nothing behind. Smaller bursts of purple beams shot monsters with terrifying precision right through their heads. It was like a light show as the sky lit up in purple flashes. Even Scorge´s summons got utterly decimated, but the umbra clone managed to kill a few of the massive blobs before being entangled by tentacles, and his body parts slowly being disintegrated.
The scene slowly faded in the distance as they got far away from the massacre.
"So the void advanced their plans." sighed Scorge exhausted.

AN:
A moderate chapter, but it kinda feels rushed for me, so maybe I will edit a few small parts later, but for now I will leave it as it is. Wanted to see how it was to write in the first person again, but I think I will stay with 3rd person view. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chap and till next time.
Oh and join my discord if you want to know when new chapters are released or just want to talk or ask some questions!
PS: Drop some power stones! there is just something about the number rising that tingles my brain!
