Shadow Intervention in The Plaza

As soon as she stepped outside the house, Lien Hua could already hear familiar shouts calling out to her from the left.

"Hey Lien Hua! We are here!"

With a smile on her face, Lien Hua turned towards the voice she had just heard and saw, Lin Yue and Chen Huang, who, not more than 20 meters away from her, were stopping by on their way to class. As soon as she heard their voices, Lien Hua moved towards them and in a few seconds, she was already beside them.

"Hey, good morning. How are you?"

"Well, certainly better than yesterday. Now that I think about it, I am managing to accept what is happening, even if only briefly."

After hearing her mature and intelligent reply, Lien Hua turned to Lin Yue, smiled, and complimented her, "Well done, always use your head in difficult situations."

Lin Yue, feeling shy from Lien Hua's compliment, lowered her face a little embarrassed by the compliment so suddenly and her ears were starting to blush.

Lien Hua didn't notice anything strange and simply laughed. Chen Huang, on the other hand, looked at Lin Yue and smiling, began to tease her.

"Ahah, and to think that until a little while ago her eyes were still completely red!"

Lin Yue turned around as soon as she heard Chen Huang's words and sent him a look that could freeze entire lakes. Chen Huang saw Lin Yue trying to hide this fact and laughed even harder, even enveloping Lien Hua, who had begun to notice Lin Yue's red ears at the same time.

Lien Hua walked along with her friends, while Chen Huang continued to tease Lin Yue, until they found themselves in the square in front of the teaching rooms, where a congregation of students were standing around.

Lien Hua, curious, looked towards Lin Yue and Chen Huang who, like her, were curious and with a silent agreement moved towards the crowd that was congregating more and more until they were noticed. Strangely, no one was saying what was going on but they moved away to make room for them, until as they got closer to the centre, Lien Hua could start to hear voices.

"How dare you Ling Tianni do this to your fellow sect brother! He didn't do anything to you. Why did you have to do this to him?"

"Hmph, he did nothing? Ahah don't joke, you were the ones who kept bothering me and now you're begging me to stop? Don't play with me."

Lien Hua, surprised by hearing Ling Tianni arguing with someone else, moved forward to hear more. Meanwhile she kept an eye on Lin Yue and Chen Huang, who, like her, were interested in what was going on. The three of them began to move forward through the flood of disciples until they finally found themselves in front of the spectacle around which everyone had gathered.

Lien Hua could finally see what had happened. After the flood of students had congregated there, a fairly large space had formed around a small group of people. Looking closer, Lien Hua noticed that it was one person facing off against a group and they were clashing. 'Ling Tianni, what is he doing? And is that b-blood? Such violence…'

Well yes, Ling Tianni was colliding with a group of 3 people and one of the group was on the ground all bloody with an obvious black eye and a few teeth on the ground. Lien Hua, if it wasn't in front of her, would have laughed had someone have merely told her this had happened, however it was happening in front of her and she was quite astonished by it.

"Okay we didn't treat you well, but at least we never physically hurt you? Why did you do this to Jin Kang? It's completely inappropriate to hurt someone like this!"

"Inappropriate? What are you talking about? He asked for it; so what did you come here for? Tell me; I don't have time to waste.''

Lien Hua, hearing how Ling Tianni was talking, was shocked. He, that insecure child, was talking down to people in such a way. It was too radical a change for his entire personality. Lien Hua, with a growing suspicion, began to intently look at Ling Tianni to notice something strange, but even after a few seconds she didn't notice anything strange.

However, in the meantime that Lien Hua was doing this, the group of 3 people with their bloodied friend were completely shocked by what Ling Tianni had just said, and after they understood what he meant they were furious.

"What?! We aren't worthy of your time?! How dare you hurt one of your fellow sect disciples and then say that!"

So furiously, they did not think about the consequences of what they were about to do and rushed towards Ling Tianni, who, with a grimace as if expecting it, prepared for the fight that was about to happen.

The two boys who were charging Ling Tianni, seeing him grimace, became even angrier, and as soon as they were within a few feet of him they began to charge their fists, which although very foul, would surely hurt whoever they hit.

Meanwhile, Ling Tianni, seeing how their form was so bad, smiled and threw two simple punches towards the lower abdomens of the two guys who were charging him, without even deigning to dignify them with a serious fight.

Lien Hua, meanwhile, who was watching the whole thing happen, was quite suspicious of what was taking place, and seeing Ling Tianni throw a simple punch towards their lower bellies, she didn't suspect anything strange. It might have seemed strange that Lien Hua, a mother and a person of modern earth, hadn't stopped them from the start, but Lien Hua already knew after reading countless books of this sort of world that it was normal to have fights that ended with heated combat, so she hadn't paid that much attention to it.

Lien Hua understood that it was the nature of cultivation to continuously fight to become stronger and stronger, so she did not stop them. Except that Lien Hua, observing the battle, had finally noticed a shocking detail. Lien Hua as soon as she noticed this thing was about to yell to stop the fight: Lien Hua had noticed that from Ling Tianni's normal fist, something was coming out and it was indeed spiritual energy.

Lien Hua wasn't sure, however, seeing how yesterday a spiritual energy attack had so badly damaged a reinforced wooden dummy, she couldn't imagine what might end up happening to real flesh and blood people, and she definitely didn't want to witness a murder. 'Oh my God, does he want to kill them?! What the hell is Ling Tianni thinking?!'

But before she could even make her move, a shadow, as if it had teleported there, stood in the middle of the clash and simply with two grasping hands contained all attacks both from the left and the right, and without even an effort nullified them as if an arrow had hit an iron wall.

Lien Hua, completely shocked along with everyone else there, looked towards the shadow that had fortunately stopped that attack and was currently looking towards Ling Tianni.

"What were you trying to do, young man? To seriously injure or kill within the sect is forbidden and could be punished by crippling one's Dantian. Do you know what you were getting into?"

Ling Tianni, seeing that his attack had been completely neutralized, made a 'Tch' sound with his mouth and raised his calm, neutral gaze to the person who had stopped them and blocked him from inflicting permanent damage on his enemies.

"Sorry Sect Elder Shi Yueh. I didn't mean to do it; my hand simply slipped a little bit."

"Mhh. Well the important thing is that no one was... hurt too badly."

Shi Yueh, was about to say that no one was hurt, until he looked towards the poor boy who had been beaten up but was still breathing and changed his sentence. Shi Yueh, looked at the boy who was so different and strong and was happy, but at the same time sad. He was happy because a talented boy had been discovered in his sect but sad because he was likely to hurt his fellow sect brothers and sisters.

It had all started when he had approached at frightening speed towards the hall; he could see from the distance how a huge group of people had congregated at the square and were fighting. At first Shi Yueh hadn't intervened because he didn't see any extreme danger and was about to let it go when suddenly he sensed spiritual energy being released by Ling Tianni and immediately catapulted there to stop it. He knew what could happen to those two low-level guys; their bodies would probably not sustain spiritual energy used from a spiritual attack and would explode.

So, Shi Yueh intervened there before the inevitable would happen, and watching now that this kid didn't have even a modicum of empathy towards the fact that he was going to kill other humans, took it in his mind and his gaze turned a little cold for a few milliseconds, making Ling Tianni tremble with fear as he realised his mistake and looked down.

'Damn it, I made a mistake. I let myself go too far. Hopefully they won't take too serious of actions against me. I mustn't get caught...'

Lien Hua saw that it had all stopped with Shi Yueh's arrival, breathed a sigh of relief, and reunited with her friends who had just arrived beside her.

"Did you see, Lien Hua? That Ling Tianni is so mean..."

"Yeah, not even a little empathy for other people."

Lien Hua, during the conversation with Lin Yue and Chen Huang, was always looking towards Ling Tianni. She didn't know what had happened to him; he had changed too quickly and it was very worrying.

Meanwhile, Shi Yueh saw that Ling Tianni had reflected on what he had just done, looked at all the people around him, and was about to start talking.
