As soon as Chloe left the room Lee sat on one of the makeup chairs and stared silently at his reflection. Ever since Nathan told him that he'd overheard Chloe say that she wanted another job, something had changed inside of him and he had no idea what it was. He'd always known that he continually pushed Chloe away, but he could never figure out why he treated her the way he did. He knew that it gave him a sense of satisfaction to make her hate him, but he didn't know why. When Nathan had told him a couple of weeks ago what he'd heard Chloe say, Lee felt his heart plummet. He didn't want her to go, even though she infuriated him, he didn't want her to leave his side. But he couldn't bring himself to say that to her or to even be kind to her. It was better that he pushed her away, better for everyone. He was snapped out of his thoughts by Chloe returning and silently placing the iced tea beside him. He glanced at her for a moment.
"Also, you might want to open a window, it smells in here." he said.
"Smells of what?" Chloe frowned.
"Burning." he said, not looking up from his phone. Chloe stared at him for a moment, her temper rising that he expected her to be his servant. She chanced a glance down at her wrist and saw that a blister was beginning to form over the burn.
"Window." he said matter of factly, clicking his fingers at her to get her attention. Chloe quickly walked over to the window and opened it, trying to calm herself down as she did so, she needed this job so she couldn't afford to answer him back.
Louise glanced questioningly at Lee as she walked back into the room.
"Here, it's all I could find." she said as she kindly handed Chloe a damp towel.
"Thank you so much." Chloe smiled, sighing in relief as she placed the towel on the burn and finally felt some relief from the pain.
"Hey, you made me look amazing, I owed you one." Louise smiled back.
They both turned to Lee who quickly stood up and walked over to Louise, taking her hand in his and gently placing a kiss on it, maintaining eye contact the whole time.
"Lee, nice to meet you." he said.
"Louise, I'm one of the support artists." she told him.
"You are also stunning." he breathed, unable to take his eyes off her.
She blushed and looked at the floor for a moment before her eyes turned back to his.
"I believe I have Chloe to thank for that." Louise said sweetly.
"Ah, so it was you who stole my stylist." he smiled.
"Yes, I believe it was, sorry about that." she giggled.
"That's okay, she's done everything we need her too anyway." Lee stated.
Chloe could feel her blood boiling as she listened to Lee talking to Louise. She hated the way that he was making out that he was a kind and considerate guy, when he was anything but with her.
"Do you want me to finish your hair Louise?" Chloe offered, trying to ignore the lump that was rising in her throat.
"No, it's okay, I'll finish it, your hand will be sore." she said.
Chloe couldn't deny that she was a little relieved, as Louise was right her hand was sore.
"What did you do to your hand?" Lee piped up.
"Burnt it on the curlers." she muttered.
"Show me." Lee told her.
"No, it's fine." Chloe argued.
Before Chloe could react, Lee reached out and took hold of her arm and pulled her towards him. He gently removed the towel and gazed at the wound for a few moments.
"It looks sore." he eventually said.
"Yeah well, I apologise for the smell." Chloe snapped as she quickly pulled her arm out of Lee's grasp. He opened his mouth to say something back but was interrupted by Matt entering the room, closely followed by Michelle, Kirstie and Kathleen.
"Right, I'll leave you in Chloe's capable hands." Matt announced before quickly leaving the room. As soon as she saw Chloe, Kirstie crossed the room and pulled her into a hug, Chloe stiffened at first but eventually she relaxed into it.
"Oh my god, I can't believe that we are backstage!" Michelle exclaimed, not quite able to believe what was happening.
"We now know why you couldn't tell us your job Chloe." Kathleen said.
Chloe shrugged, her cheeks flushing.
"Louise you have ten minutes, Lee you have about forty-five before you have to be on stage." Chloe quickly told them. Lee nodded silently and returned to sitting on one of the makeup chairs, the conversation clearly boring him.
"I'm so excited about the interview!" Kathleen admitted.
"It's not until tomorrow, though right?" Chloe asked, starting to panic a little bit that she had got the date wrong.
"Yeah, I'm just getting over excited." Kathleen admitted. Chloe couldn't help but smile at how happy she was. Chloe took for granted the fact that she got to be around these celebrities daily, it was refreshing to realise how lucky she was.
"You two just want to meet some hot men." Kirstie said, rolling her eyes at them.
"So, do you Mrs." Michelle teased her.
"Chloe, close the window, it's cold in here." Lee demanded from the corner. She nodded silently and quickly did as she was told.
"OMG, Lee, I was so excited that I didn't really register that you were there." Kathleen said happily.
"Who are these people?" Lee asked Chloe, ignoring everyone else around him.
"Kathleen is doing the interview tomorrow and these are her friends." Chloe explained.
"Tomorrow?" Lee checked.
"Yes, I did tell you about it and your outfit is ready for the shoot afterwards." Chloe said defensively.
"Well get rid of them until tomorrow then." Lee snapped.
Chloe looked around the room awkwardly, not sure what to say or do.
"Actually, forget it, I'm out of here." he said. They watched as he walked over to Louise and handed her a piece of paper.
"Call me." he said quietly. He smirked at Chloe before walking out of the room and closing the door behind himself.
"He's a total tool." Kirstie announced, summing up what everyone was thinking.
"Tell me about it." Chloe agreed.
