Klaus?

Klaus’s POV

Wow, how could I be so careless. I forgot to lock the door to the office. I should’ve at least left the key with Dahlia. Oh well, I better get going before the Calculus teacher gets to the office before me.

“Stormie, double up or take the bus. I have to get to school early!”, I hollered from downstairs.

“Oh my God, I really cannot wait to get my own car and move at my own pace.”, Stormie sleepily said as she grabbed a juice box from the fridge.

“Dream on child.”, I roll my eyes at her and walk out of the house to the car.

Fortunately, I was still a little early at school and confident that Mr. Acquah had not arrived yet. There were only a few cars parked in the parking lot. The staff parking space was empty as well. Grateful. I rushed out of the car to go do what I came to school so early for. Soon enough, I was at the office door. It was already shut so I only locked it and moved away.

Deep down, I felt a little bit bad for telling Dahlia t fix her attitude and I had a very strong feeling that she was going to be much of a snob to me today or maybe forever. But hey, it’s not as if I’m wrong about her need to fix her attitude. She’s terrible and that’s facts. I’ve decided that even before she gives me an attitude today, I am not going to show the slightest bit of interest in even interacting with her.

The school seemed lifeless with its hallways empty but soon enough, it will be filled students who are still sleepy due to all sorts of habitual midnight activities. I should probably work on a much much suitable mood board before school officially began because it looks like my work mate isn’t planning on being cooperative.

Dahlia’s POV

Last night, I came up with just the perfect idea to avoid working with Klaus for the mean time. It’s quite a brilliant masterplan which only requires sacrifice of a little of my sleep. Yes, yesterday, he forgot to lock up the office. So, all I have to do today is to get to school super early and do my portion of the work in the office.

In that case, I will not be obliged to go work with him after school. And also, he will definitely see some progress in the office and that will inform him that I really did some work. I’m smart, yes, yes I know.

Since I want no instance of running into Klaus, I got to school a little too early. I am even scared of the empty hallways that echoed with every little movement. But once I’m already here, there is no way I’m even going back.

Fortunately, the door to Mr. Acquah’s office is still open which means I can carry on with my plan. Mmm, what do I begin with. I begin to look around to see what I can begin to work on. Oh yes, the in-built cupboard is quite messy. I can begin by arranging the stack of workbooks well.

I’m actually quite surprised that Mr. Acquah is still keeping unmarked workbooks and project papers from about two years ago. Interesting. This wasn’t going to be an easy task especially since I am doing it alone. I decide to listen to some music while I work, obviously using headphones. I also set an alarm to notify my that lessons begin in less than two hours.

My alarm goes off after what seems like ages. I wrap up my arrangements, dust my palms and walk toward the door which for some reason wasn’t opening no matter how hard I yanked at it. What’s going on? I don’t believe this door has a problem.

I can’t be late for class and most definitely can’t be seen in the office by Mr. Acquah. I have to come up with something fast. I can’t just make noise to catch a passerby’s attention because the won’t even have the key anyways. It’s hard to admit but my last resort is Klaus.

First of all, Klaus is the last person that I want to see. On the other hand, I don’t even know how I’ll reach him. I don’t have his phone number. If I don’t come up with something in the next minute, I’m going to be late. Stormie. Yes, Stormie, maybe I can reach Klaus through Stormie.

I took out my phone to call her.

“Stormie, hello, umm, I need you to call your brother. Tell him to come open me up. I’m locked in Mr. Acquah’s office.”, I rattled a soon as she answered my call.

“Huh? How did-”

“Stormie please, there’s no time, I’m gonna be late.”, I cut her off before she pries more into the situation.
